Oh gods, I read that topic you linked and found something scary:
“between 7.5gb and 8.5gb for every instance (including a 0.8.4 one if you intend to play 0.8.4 replays using this tool)”
That’s basically full game attached. Full, untrimmed, compatibility pack for 8.5 weights ~1GB, that’s bout 7-8 times less. Packs for other versions that had only minor changes (8.5->8.6 got GUI and Sound overhaul) will weight much less, also it is possible to spawn limited-compatibility packs that weights a lot less.
Only interesting feature left in that Replay Companion is launcher, and I am making my own for RCP right now.

Meh, it did not exist in my times (first version of RCP was released back in 7.2). Also it seems to be abandoned for time being.
And for some reason it do not support 7.1 while supporting everything else?
