TBH they had a under supply of skilled welders and didn’t trust welding. And an over supply of skilled and highly skilled riveters. Just look at HMS Vanguard.

Both for fuel consumption reasons and for wear reasons. (tracks, transmission, wheels, rollers and suspension. )

And the Yamato battle was also amazing, I managed to get the main guns and thus drive the ship and it was intense. One of the mods with the best gameplays out there.
