This term has a more complex origin:

First there was the English MMO term – “carebear” a player who is not involved in PvP.
After some time russians shortened it to Краб/crab. And only there comes puns about pincers for hands and stuff.

Tbh doesn’t make it any less funny for a native russian-speaker, it’s just one of those cross-language-puns that exist everywhere.
Funny thing how some ~10 years ago my uncle told me this pun and i shrugged it off and then saw it again. It was like “wow, i thought it was just a pun”. but then again – a lot of czech stuff sounds real hardcore to the russian ear (Krc being one of the examples, or the tongue twister about the mole, finger and grass which is like 10 words without a single vowel).

It’s funny how being russian a can’t understand shit in ukranian, but i didn’t have an overly hard time READING the notes and names in Prague…
Kinda like VOZIDLO is a taxi or LETADLO is an airport…more puns, though – but still pretty much “traceable” differences =)

Well, im russian, and when i was in my tenties in 94 year in Bulgaria, noticed many similarities; but they was somehow hard to grasp.

Well, i can deduce easily that “Летище” translates as “Аэропорт”; and “Лети-ще” can be checked to “Лети” – which is analogous to russian “лететь”.

But still, it was hard to me to grasp how “пътувате” translates. D:

The idea of crayfish is that the player is playing like they have claws for hands. This comes up all the time on the forums when people are debating the playability of a vehicle. One player says that the vehicle is weak and another responds along the lines of “Yes, it’s weak…if you use the claws.” This is essentially their equivalent of saying “Learn to play, noob!”

True, thats a bit confusing, but in bulgarian “Napred” also means forwards, while in russian its “Vpered” they sound very similar.

Othe than that, russian and bulgarian are very similar, and even if you have never learned russian, you can understand it if you are bulgarian. (wich dosent work vice versa for some reason’, meaning russians cant understand for shit :D)
