A good friend(age of 86) of my father,who lived in Australia for 5 years in the 50′s,told me,that in that time there were big markets where you could buy old army stuff for pocket money. He said that there were small arms(Colts,Thompsons,Lee Enfields) and even vehicles on sale too. You could buy Matildas and Shermans and even Spitfires and Hurricanes (WTF?!). And the farmers have bought almost every tank,they cut off their turrets and used the hull for farmer-work. That could be impressive.
