It is quite convenient (if not essential) for AA guns’ shells to travel at high velocities – because directly hitting a speeding airplane that may be changing its direction isn’t exactly easy and (the large calibers mostly) need the velocity to reach high altitudes.

I use the AA guns in WT to shred light tanks and some mediums :D You have to be very sneaky though, lest you get shot yourself (hardly any armour). It has amazing RoF and reload rate :)

Warthunder could make use of these kinds of AA vehicles once planes are added into their tank games with realistic and simulator battles.

Why did AA guns have so much pen? I would of expected an AA gun designed from scratch to have the ability of delivering flak rounds to a given altitude (low/med) but not necessarily be able to shoot AP rounds that go through armour plate.

If you ever do an article on historical gun/kannon design I would consider it porn.

No Wirbelwind for you! Wirbelwind would be tier 3 to 4 material, search for the Zestörer, it is the Wirbelwind, but with a quad Mk. 103 gun with 90 mm pen, the gun can be found back on the Pz. II G, the Luchs and the tier V Leopard. That gun is already quite deadly, but what about 4?
