8 in gun is already on the M53/55, yes. Also, soviet arty tiers 7 to 9 have the exact same gun caliber. So no, no ion cannons this time.

Not quite sure how you mean it but 8″ are only 20.something cm. We already have guns in the game with 21cm (GW Series), 9.2″ (CGC) and 24cm (T92). The 8″ is on the M53/55 iirc.
So “8″ gun…” is definately not hte next step :D.
38cm rocket luncher on the other hand… *cough* Sturmtiger *cough*
