The 290mm mortar was used to level fortifications, had to be loaded externaly by the co-driver (the turret had to be traversed over his hatch), and fired 40 lb warhead, with 28 pounds of high explosives.
It was the post war AVRE that mounted 165mm demolition gun that fired (IIRC 30kg) HESH round

Yes I did! We visited all the important places. The celebrations were great and there were so many fans in historical uniforms on tanks, trucks and jeeps. I even saw a Spitfire flying in formation with Eurofighter. And Lancaster with Spitfire and there were four Hercules flying low along the coast.

That armored car is the M8 Greyhound and that AA halftrack is the M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage

Except it’s wrong. It’s an M4A3E8, featuring the T23 turret, long 76mm (as opposed to the usual stubby 75mm), and HVSS suspension instead of VVSS (as seen on the other Sherman later in the post).

It’s a spigot mortar and it’s useless against tanks (under 100m firing range and almost no armor penetration)
