I remember this one as quite decent, and low on hollywood BS.

Russian film, so you have to cope with reading subtitles, if you dont know the language.

There are a lot of death flags out there (and that’s just the trailer too) for the new guy. I’m also guessing one of the other long-timers will die too, or at least get wounded.

Thus we get to Wardaddy’s anxiety on what I’ve mentioned before (“we survived the desert, Sicily, the bocages…and then I get casualties when we’re in f**king Germany???”)

“To strike at the heart of Nazi Germany” is essentially just reaching the Elbe anyway. Those Germans they will be encountering is firing at them not because they want to fight, but because they want to be as far as possible from the Soviets as soon as possible. They’re so anxious to get out of the “heart of Germany”, they’re just marching along the road, in a straight line, without even a patrol unit ahead of them (which would mean they would spot the Sherman first, rather than the other way around).

I dunno m8, the summary paragraph of the movie doesn’t seem good.
“The film is set during the last months of World War II in April 1945. Wtf is your point, all nations had their fair share of heroes. Marcel was just stating that hollywoodized movies make it seem like all americans were captain americas and all germans were dumb lemmings, which is really fking not true.
