Dude… maintaining a collection WITHOUT PROPER INCOME is impossible. And the children of the collector said that when they will have enough money (via the auction) they will make a museum for the rest of the collection (rest is like 50 or so tanks).

Well I can’t speak for all of them, but there’s a new armour museum opening in Australia and I believe some of the collection was purchased by them.

And the good news is that they won’t be locked away – they are even planning their own version of tankfest :) :)

Actually the total sale brought $10,240,000.00 USD slightly more then the cost for the transport.

The buyers were from ten different countries and those from the United States were from thirty-seven different states.

The Littlefield’s family donated the collection to the Collings Foundation, which plans to use the money to build a military vehicle museum at its headquarters in Stow, Massachusetts.
