Indeed, SA 37 in real life had ca ~100 mm penetration at 100 metres. It was clearly superior to Japanese Type 1 47 mm AT gun (higher muzzle velocity along with higher shell mass)…
Bu t for some reason ingame this gun is shit. The real B1 used SA 35 gun (the second one, gun from Pz. B2).

Still 75 mm HE shell is pretty effective against tier 4 tanks, so if this howitzer was usable it would not be pointless.

You forgot to mention that they had problems getting the main turret to work, eventually they just welded it to the hull, only the small turret with the 37mm could rotate.

So? We got plenty of tanks with derp-gun options ingame, that were never meant to fight other tanks with said derp-gun and they still work fine. As a matter of fact, we actually have entire tanks ingame whose only purpose was to fight fortified positions and infantry and weren’t even produced with optional armaments until much later or at all (Churchill, early Panzer IV) and to stay the fucking hell away from AFVs at all and they still work. WTF is the problem with a 75mm derp gun on Tier IV anyways, where almost all tanks have paper-mache for armor and even those who do not, still recieve considerable damage by getting derped with those calibers?! It’s as stupid as an excuse as the “gun wouldn’t add anything to the tank”-mantra, that WG is harping for an excuse this year.

Such a shame that WG’s scrapped (or at least postponed indefinitely) multiturret support. Hell, they could theoretically make a small mini-branch of Soviet multi-turreted vehicles, with this thing at tier 3 and maybe the T-35 at tier 4 (with an option to research it sideways from the T-28), before leading into the heavy tank line with the KV-1.

Pretty sure you haven’t payed any attention to previews from WoWS, large ships, small ships, multi turrets, multiple types of “turrets” (guns and torps). It’s not the engine. (in this case)

On the other hand they’re not a 75mm howitzer that is akin to the 75mm on the M5 Stuart with 2 degrees of gun traverse.

Yes I look forward to the hull howitzer being added, but I’d much rather have the turret gun.

The B1 ter improves gun traverse to 10 degrees which would be helpful, I’m personally a vigorous advocate of placing the initial B1 variant at tier 2, the B1 bis at tier 3, and the B1 ter at tier 4.
