my question is, is it worth buying though? i’m still on the E8 (and having ridiculous fun in it), and waiting on a sale for the US medium tanks so i can move on to the T20.
i’m probably gonna go for the Wardaddy’s Dream bundle at 26.90 USD, since 99.90 USD is a bit of a stretch (ok it comes with 25K gold but still…)

it would certainly be better than a stock E8, but as prem tanks usually go it isn’t as good as the fully upgraded version of the original/credit tanks, certainly not an upgrade over the originals

The lower front of the “normal” E8 is 101mm (I think you mean the effective thickness), the Fury only has 50mm except the small stripe in the middle of the gearbox which has 101mm too.

The turret of the Fury is the stock turret of the E8 which also has the 64mm armor all around. The gun depression of the 76mm M1 in the stock turret of the E8 is the same as in the Fury, 10 degrees.
The biggest difference is that the normal E8 only has a tiny hole in the armor behind the mantlet, only as big as the gun barrel itself, while the fury has no armor behind mantlet.
The central part of the mantlet on all E8 turrets has 89mm, only the small outer part is weaker on the Fury, 44mm instead of 76mm.

I expect these changes to the turret to happen to the normal E8 when it gets converted to HD, especially the part behind the mantlet. That’s the same nerf the M4 received when being remodeled in HD.

You forget the fury has worse Hp/t than the jumbo.. and no armor to compensate. Also the front hull armor is much weaker than the E8. The E8 has up to 140mm on the lower hull and 170+ on the mantlet, comared to 80mm hull with a tiny strip of 110mm. Plus the Fury’s mantlet is only 90mm thick.

With the introduction of the Fury, perhaps WG can remove the RAM II from the American line and place it (where it belongs) into the British (Commonwealth) line?

Especially as the LL/TD line might come into play this year and I could use a 5 man training tank for the Sherman II and Firefly.
