Armoured vehicles with concrete armour (bisons) were built and issued during WW2 by the British, mostly used for airfield defence.

You also had lots of vehicles utilising wood, gravel and mild steel sandwich as armour.

The “Barnes bat” commissioned by Sir Winston Churchill is hardly a flying tank rather it was a tank attached to a glider so it could travel faster to the front line where it was needed.

After Dunkirk the British were really desperate to rebuild their army with anything they could pretty much get their hands on. Since they were quite short in supplies with the British being pretty much isolated with the U-boats getting a tighter grip on the Atlantic they were quite creative at that time. They came up with a lot more interesting/silly ideas…

Examples of those are:
- A giant aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean made out of pykrete
- Armored tractors with brick armor because steel was in short supply

“What nation would you like to see next?” I know that Hungary was not a big tank manufacturer country, but was there any absurd hungarian plans?
