You got me wrong. I am not mentioning intended weakspots but certain parts of the tanks that are rather illogical to cause any significant damage to the tank, if getting hit. I know some of such spots are weakspots, but it's besides this discussion. An example I gave - commander's cupola is non-essential and the tank would be still operational without it ... though the commander would likely be dead or injured.

It is pure bullshit, for example, destroy an entire tank by repeatedly shooting commander's cupola (that in reality would be gone in 1 or 2 shots, with some possible fragmentation damage to the turret interior) or open top tank destroyer's gun shield (that at the point of penetration at best would have 1 crew member behind it, if anything at all).

To put it in other words, if you were shooting a car with a gun then you could damage it only so much by shooting one of it's tyres over and over again. When it pops, it's gone. You'd need to try shooting something else then. Another tyre, engine or fuel tank. But using wot logic you could blow up the whole car just by shooting it's one wheel exclusively.

It has been proposed then to reduce damage from hitting such places to make it more realistic. But it was rejected as it would confuse players.

Yes, you can theoretically tell the difference between AP/APCR, HE/HESH and HEAT.

But can you always do that? I can't. I do tend to miss the shell hit sound quite often ... even to a point when I realise I got hit only going by visual display and hit point counter. I am simply focused on other things going around, and at certain intense moments there's a lot of sounds piled up together, with tanks around shooting, getting hit, exploding, you-name-it .... teamspeak communication doesn't help either.

1) Tells you, who is shooting at you, even if the enemy is not spotted. Also if there are more than 1 enemy.
2) Tells you the reload of the enemy, if you dont know them yet
3) Based on the reload, you can guess, which gun is mounted and how dangerous the enemy is. (Stock tanks are usually less dangerous than fully equipped tanks or do less dmg --> can i take another shot without the risk of going back to garage?)
4) Tells you, what type of shell is being used. You know, if you can hope for a bounce, if you are clever or get penetrated with a high chance. Or if you are safe, because the enemy is useing HE shells, which you wouldnt notice every time.

People spend money on prem account and prem tanks and use that to afford gold ammo. Opposed to how it was before, when people needed prem account to even afford higher tiers. WG buffed high tier income in 8.6 if im not wrong. I would see that prem ammo would be real gold again and a nerf to regular income on all high tier tanks as well a huge buff to prem account income and xp. You know to force people to buy prem account to even be able to play higher tiers, instead of using prem account to afford gold shells.
