“We have some competitions coming up over the festive period where players have the chance to win one. So keep an eye out for those.” Does anybody know if he means competitions just on SEA or for other servers as well? For example a competition to get a Type 59 on NA?

The type 59 is excellent money maker and in the right hands and with 5 crew skills is a boss tank.
When you can earn well over 100,000 with out even trying.
Its just a credit making machine.
Its the best tier 8 med and with pref MM what more could a tanker need.

Ok … If:
- Type 59 is part of some future individual mission – great,
- Type 59 is only for very few lucky players (one, two, three … less than ten .. for the whole EU server) – another big disappointment for huge number of players.

And too many hopes followed by too many disappointments … “game over”.

It’s an awesome and quite forgiving medium premium tank. Mix up some premium ammo and with 4 skill crews, it’s a blast to drive. The best part is the special MM and not having to see tier 10s… And it’s exclusive to older players from 2011-12…

I still don’t see a valid business reason not to sell certain tanks in your inventory. I can understand the rarity thing, and it can be kept by keeping a limited release of product. The player base can be made to understand that while you get the exclusive use of a rare tank, that after some period of time (6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or whatever) that tank should be available to the player base as a whole. You can still set limits on when it’s offered just as you do certain tanks in the inventory now. It’s a win-win. Players have an opportunity to purchase tanks, WG makes money hand over fist.

the only thing the type 59 has over the T-34-2 is better armor, top speed, and gun depression.

the T-34-2 has better overall mobility (especially acceleration), a better gun, much smaller profile, much better camo rating (according to tank inspector it has the same camo rating as an WZ-132 when not moving).

Fuck no, Most type 59 are red, pink-ish red and sometimes yellow. Sure there are a few blue’s and purples driving it but generally most players are just bloody deep red. the type 59 is better than the T-34-2 despite having limited matchmaking unlike the T-34-2.

The type 59 is practically a T-44 with the gun of the T-34-2 and great armour. It’s sluggish compared to the T-44 even with a far better topspeed. But it’s certainly better than the Superpershing and T-34-3. Sure it isn’t great compared to the premium heavy tank of the french but that thing is strong because it has the heavy tag.
