I haven’t pushed anyone into the water so i can’t tell with 100% confidence. But i’m quite sure the game mechanics in this case is the same as in regular matches. So you’d get the kill at most.

To each his own i guess. Some see these old games with some sort of nostalgia. Not neccessarily for the quality of graphics but rather for the time spent with friends for example. Although i still have silly guilty fun playing this on emulator :)

Those 54 battles in fact include unsuccessful ones as i counted number of replay files. I played about 4 matches the first day when this mode came out. If you remember post on FTR the reward system was messed up a bit and was “fixed” since then. So those 4 OP matches can be easily offset by a number of 0 XP matches.

I didn’t get any reward for each single “500 damage” mission. There were battles where i was only a dozen or so hitpoints short of the required amount and received nothing. Only after completing it for 25th time one gets the big prize.

I did watch crew’s progress (amount of XP needed to increase skill by one percent) before and after several battles. In one instance before the battle commander had 7052 XP to go, after the battle it was 1052 (difference 6000). Gunner – 4032/1302 (difference 2730). Driver – 6552/3552 (difference 3000). Loader – 4174/1174 (difference 3000). The difference between XP allocated to each crew member can be attributed in part to the principle “least trained crewmember gets more XP”. How 1500 XP for single battle gets swollen up to 6000 is beyond me though. Not that i do complain :)

Thanks for the additional info.

It still seems there are some additionall missions active, as you wrote that in 54 battles, you went form 0 to 100% for first skill/perk for LT.

This is at least 210000 XP. Even if you won all battles with 1700+ damage, that’s:

a) 54 x (1500XP +0,25*1500XP) =101250 XP (this calculation includes accelerated crew training for Artic Fox with 4 crew members)
b) 2 x bonus of 25000XP from the 500dmg mission = 50000K XP.

a + b Total: 151250 XP; this would not be enough to train full first skill/perk.

Did you use some awards from the 500 dmg HT/TD missions on your Arctic Fox? This might be the other explanation.

I have both the M103 and Foch in my garage and I’d like to keep them when I research/buy the E5 and Foch 155. I don’t have quality crews that I am not using elsewhere for either the US or France that I want to transfer. So, I expect to be playing Winter Mode quite a bit to get those crews trained up.

As for 8 bit games, I’m actually a little old, most of the games I played growing up were on an Atari 2600 and an Apple IIe. Still, such games do bring back memories. Playing this game is about having fun, it doesn’t need to have any more point than that.

How does drowning work? Do you get dmg counted for drowing someone(pushing him into the water)?

I played it on RU server, Heavy (T110E5 or “Mammoth”) 4.79 with a 3 shell autoloader. Light (T-50-2 or arctic fox) 1.98 and the TD (foch 155 or “Polar bear”)
4.79
All with 100% crew.
