They can’t prove it in any way (yet, until they develop tools to do so). And I guess consumer protection is the institution they dont want a fight with because of false positives.

They can’t do anything about that? Seriously? They can f*cking read, can they?

Most of the functions of the mod mentioned here are in direct violation of the game rules, they can actually ACT on that and ban any players who are shown to use it. But do they? No.

However, I disagree with your initial post on advertising cheats. Is a newspaper advertising crime if it reports it, saying how the bad guys managed to rob a bank? Should we stop reporting on crime all together? Security by obscurity is an automatic fail…

No, I’ve heard it all through our WoT alliance too. Pretty much the worst any of them (over 300+ members across 5 clans) have ever had were chatbans for a few days for ranting in chat :P. And some of them run some pretty shady mods… But since WG doesn’t care about them, neither does clan leadership…

That would only happen if the mod department was incredibly lazy (which they would be at WG EU). Several other games already employ this though, so it really is possible…

Doesn’t change the issue. The player who wants to cheat can Google it, without having heard of it and will still find it. Posting the link here doesn’t change that. The fact you haven’t heard of it, is most likely because you haven’t thought of (or at least not enough to Google it) cheating (yet :P)…
