In reality? Definitly. Pz IIIs and IVs as well as german anti-tank artillery during Case Yellow were pretty much helpless against the rather large B1s already. Add odd armor layout, reduce size and remove the one big weakness in the armor (radiator on the side of the B1) and you've got a really scary vehicle for the Germans. Not quite, but close to T-34-levels of scary.
Ingame, however, you'd be in the same position as the B1. Competently driven, it's a beast on it's tier, gets into severe trouble when not top-tier and be hopelessly outmatched when you'd get into T+2-battles (which you gladly don't in the B1). The gun is part of this pattern, as even in it's own tier you produce enough bounces already (although the high RoF and good accuracy help to compensate tremendously). Just as in reality, ingame there's a huge tech-leap at around T4 to T5, where suddenly short-barreled weapons and 60mm of armor are not the thing heavy tanks are made of, but lights.

I've had my captured German S-35 for over 3 years now.

I love the little bastard. When tier 4 tourney points require one tier 3 in the mix, I've taken it and made a difference.

It has the fastest natural aim time in the game, bounces machine-gun fire, and then goes "Pop, pop, pop" at the little Pz-1C's as they are reloading.

I have a 63% win rate on it. Not that the S-35's that great, but it's too slow to YOLO to the front and die. I end up picking up the scraps of battle. "Damn, I ALMOST made it to the enemy base this time, but now I have to go back and reset. Maybe next time..." :D

It looks like it was made by a refrigerator company. I call it the "Frigidaire Tank".

They very much could pop these turrets on with an SA-37 gun, and create an S-35 FCM for tier 4. It would play like a Japanese medium. Slow, poor armor, mediocre turret, and a great gun.

I want one. I would hug it and squeeze it and call it George. :D

I get this feeling that the early Pz III's would still have a hard time slugging Somuas when it receives its hax upgrades. the 47mm I think it shares with the B1 bis is enough at 1930-1940, right?

"...the idea to put at least a loader in the new turret was very actual."

That's not the best translation of the original sentence, I feel. In this sense, it describes a degree of importance, not just the existence of a problem. More appropriate would be "highly regarded," perhaps, as it corresponds to the degree of acceptance such project was given.
