so, today’s T-127 is on discount. Okay, here’s another thing that sort of bothers me. Not much, but still. When Wargaming first came with the concept of event reward tanks, I was actually quite overjoyed. I mean – there’s a collector value in it in the sense that you were THERE (if I recall correctly, the T-127 was a Christmas tank for 2011). And now, it’s in the shop. With discount. You can see where I am going with it.
I understand that creating a new tank is not easy, it costs Wargaming money and they want the money back. But I think that specifically gift tanks should remain gift tanks, so when you drive them, you were “I was there two years ago” special – but that won’t happen now, not when every Dick and Harry can now buy it from the shop. As usual, the discount is not 50 percent as advertised, but only 36 percent (no slot discount of course).
And of course, we have our daily small fail (what would be a WG EU event without one, right?):
While I do think pouring Coca-Cola on a burning engine could produce interesting results, I am not quite sure they did that in real life.
Edit: Yea, checked and I made a mistake with that T-127, it was apparently quite common tank. However, Tetrarch and T1E6 (both Christmas presents) were also sold in bundles.

Yes. I got my T-127 from a code I got from a german magazine.
And since they nerfed its matchmaking, seal clubbing is way harder with the T-127. So I see no problem with selling it.
Yep, most of us got quite a few from a code given out by a website before WG put a limit on them.
And then they sold them in the gift shop for less than cost and a few of us broke the payment system spamming purchases.
I don’t recall it ever being a direct WG gift, even as an event code.
In fact there was a limit on that code, you could activate it ten times only. Thats how I got 10 additional garage slots.

Doesn’t change the fact you can get reward tanks by buying them…
I for one don’t give a shit, cause I sell those tanks and enjoy my free garage slot, but for guys who collect all those little tanks it is quite disappointing, cause there is nothing unique about it anymore.
I agree. Some ”reward” tanks are better left on the shelf when it comes to selling things. I am one of the few EU players players to own a Pz II Ausf. J. If these things ever go on sale, tier 3-4 would be flooded with unicums/sealclubbers driving one, and as it stance, a Pz II Ausf. J is incapable of killing another one whatsoever.
Fair enough, although it was definitely some other gift tank, as I recall having it (and I’d never buy a lowtier Soviet tank by myself)
It has always been available in the in game store. Although it is also very common as a bonus code tank.
One time on the US server there was a code giveaway with no limit on how many codes you could redeem. Guess what happened next.
2011 was the Tetrach ( which is a surprisingly good tank actually). 2012 gave us the t1e6 ( a piece of trash ) and then we got the Learn To Play tank because Wargaming won something at the E.G.A.
So first we got an amazing gift tank, the next one was a piece of garbage and the one after that was ok ( but an inferior t-127 in all aspects. ).
I hope it will be a German gift tank for once. But hey, it’s WG, probably won’t happen.
T1E6 is great if you play it correctly. Can spam gold easily and stay in profit. And even without it you can brawl stuff from front if you know what you’re doing.
What was the original T-127 MM?? I have had it for ages now, but I thought it always saw Tier 3-4s and not just Tier 3s.
And Tetrarch was the best gift tank, and is far superior/OP than most other regular tanks/Tds of its tier. T1E6 was meh, but better than the Combat Car. LTP is alright for those who don’t have the T127, which is superior to LTP in every way.
The problem with this is, that the player base changes. There are new players and there are people who stop playing. And if you keep a tank a collectors thing, then at some point you can pretty much not see it in game anymore. I have 8750 battles and I don’t remember seeing KV-220 before the discount. Same with BT-SV, that M6 / T29 thing… T-127 is getting pretty rare as well, these days. It’s also why they issue 10k reward tanks instead of 3k max like in the first campaign.
And let’s face it – it’s a one day offer. Wonder how many people will buy it.
Still, to some point I agree. I like how they differentiate between tester KV-220 and bought KV-220 with a special tank icon and I think if they kept it consistent, it could be a way to go – it would still be special, because people would see you’re not the one who bought it in the shop.
KV-220 was never on sale on the EU server before, that’s why.
If you saw one before it was either a press account or one of the RU players who got a transfer to the EU server.
Hmm, well if they had any mentos, then the coca cola would be better than a fire extinguisher :D
And btw, its annoying to see gift/promo tanks being sold and on a very high price too.. Just like the Tetrarch and T1E6 was being sold in the bundle a few weeks ago -.-
I think we should have cammo as a unique reward on those tanks at least. The clan wars should be cammo chosen by the clan that is server side seen/ hosted so we know they did an awesome job. Sort of like the gold type 59.
The T-127 is a regular premium low tier tank which you can buy in the ingame shop. I see no problem there. But i see your point and agree. collector tanks should be unique and not easily sold. The KV-220 is ok for me because its too expensive so it will still be rare. And the Tetrach sold along the Löwe in a bundle is OK for me (still expensive). I hope they will keep it like that because i like collecting those gift tanks (i still could beat myself for selling the russian M3 LT).

I doubt they will do it, if it was abut over a year ago xD IIRC you have 2 weeks to claim back a sold premium tank.
Yesterday i reclaimed my Tetrach sold in january 2012 so you should open a support ticket. You need to have 1 free slot and 150k credits available on your account for Tetrach. This way you can reclaim only one tank sold by mistake so pick tank you want back the most.
I wrote to WG support just 2 weeks ago to have my T1E6 restored from December last year (I sold it for a garage slot and have since started collecting all the premiums). They said that anything over 6 months ago they won’t restore. I submitted a second ticket and was told no exceptions. How the hell did you manage to get yours back yet I get told ‘no exceptions’?
There was an offer to buy it, along with 10k gold. :)
Well the gift tanks are gifts, so I don’t think we can take offence if they give them out again or sell them. I can see that the beta rewards are different and the pre-order tanks different again.
As I play the US lines, I wonder if they could do a KV-220-like spit and seel me a M4A2E4. Or but the MLTS is the shop (there is no clear reason why not in that case). Even the M6A2E1 could be sold again if they compensated the pre-oder buyers for it no being exclusie any more.
Even if they put M4A2E4 on sale, I doubt we will see more of it, because it requires certain level of skill to play it successfully, so it’s not a tank for everybody. I still play it, but in the last 6 months I only saw another M4A2E4 once, which is funny, considering how in the first few weeks of game going live, battles were flooded with it.
As for the M6 “Alien”, that thing is also tricky to play, that’s why many people sold it, and you are left with very small amount of people that actually know how to use it.
The T-127 is a normal premium tank like the Löwe. Everyone can buy it since the 0.7.0 patch and it wasn’t on discount too many times I think.
I sold my free 127. This tank is not a keeper and you will waste both time and money if you get one.
T-127 is a great tank, and borderline OP with premium shells which are so cheap on sale events (400 creds only). Got my max (11) kills with T-127 a long time back. I don’t really play with it much anymore, but whenever I do, I find it quite pleasing to drive/play.
T127 is very good tank on its tier, especially with a decent MM. It isnt performing good on any T4 matches, its definitely much better than then LTP in my eyes with much better front armor and angle.
I think i did get some steel walls and many top guns in that tank. Definitely a keeper even when i dont play it that often.
Regards the topic i have a M4A2E4 and i would be very angry when everyone would be suddenly able to buy it. Should be same like it is with Type 59 , some tanks should be unique and a reward that you got it/ purchased it when it was out there.
You will always want to own the that that own you when you were a noob in the belief that you can rule the battle field to. In the most primitive psychological way you want to overcome your enemy by absorbing them. When you add the OCD need to own them all it a fucking money spinner for WG.
