Straight Outta Supertest – “Football” Mode?

Hello everyone,

once again, this info is unconfirmed, so take it with a bit of salt, but looks like Wargaming noticed the football (soccer, if you prefer) World Cup in Brazil (12.6.-13.7.2014). A new map and a new “medal” appeared in the supertest client:

fWTdD-fleZo

Allegedly, it’s supposed to be some kind of special event á la Karl. The description of the medal in the test client says:

“For winning in the foodball match, while driving T-62A SPORT. Overall standings consist of longest winning streak in a row. The streak is ended by a loss. It is awarded to all players of the winning team during the time of the event, that is to coincide with the football World Cup 2014.”

The description of the map allegedly is: “Meet in honorable combat for the first place in the Himmelsdorf championship”

  1. C’mon, WG, it’s been about six weeks since April Fools and you already want a head start on next year!? XD

    • The “April Fools” part of Karl was not Karl and the map but how they introduced Karl and the map. The joke was that everyone has always been complaining about the game not being balanced so they created the most balanced game. Everyone gets the exact same tank with a crew that never levels and has no gold ammo. And on a completely balanced map neither side had an advantage because the map was symmetrical.

And because of how that went they are now deciding limited time special event modes are enjoyed by people.

    • I think, if this is true, then it will be the case – probably some fast T-62A without possibility to shoot, but you have to bump the ball in goal. Could be even more fun than Karl..

And that footbal field is situated in the middle park of Himmelsdorf, I suppose?

      • If so… RAMFEST!

Speaking of which, how funny would this be: 15 vs. 15 T62A’s having to destroy each other without ammo.

    • There should be an early flight home feature for English tanks.

      • If we had Argentinean tanks they would have a great big fucking hand sticking out of the commanders hatch.

        • Good thing Chinese players will not qualify world cup. They literally kick balls as in between the legs instead of soccer ball. They were defeated in their own Olympic to a third world nation. Those third world players are literally amature people who milk cows as their main job. Talking about fail.

    • He probably uses czech keyboard and there is not à but only á…

  3. Considering how players love special small stuff (and Karl was really popular), it’s only logical more stuff like that would appear. I like it, keeps the game fresh and not so repetitive if every once in a while something like this appears.

    • TBH: I’m not sure if that event will be as popular as Karl. Karl got nostalgia in it emulating one of the greatest classics – this one meanwhile is just a flat map with a ball where you can’t shoot(?) and need to push an object between the sticks…
Though surely achievements collectors will do their best to get as long win streak as possible – and that means plenty of people grinding that game mode for a whole days.

    • Totally agree. I’m looking ofrward to it.

I can’t understand why there is all the negative vibes.

      • The node itself doesn’t suck, people are just angry about 9.0′s problems thinking they are doing this instead of fixing them.
