remember how we talked about BT-SV some time ago and how I predicted it would be available for 100 EUR with a heap of gold? Well, it’s here!
Today, as a part of the advent calendar, following package available. WG sure wants to harpoon those whales!
Price: 99 EUR
Concent: BT-SV, garage slot, 27500 gold, 30 days of premium
So, if you want to spend 100 EUR for a tier 3 tank – go ahead :) Just so there is no mistake though: unlike the Panzer II Ausf.J (which would be actually worth the price, as it is the most OP vehicle in the game currently), BT-SV is crap. Don’t bother.
One more thing though: usually, with this kind of posts, there are people who come and say “SS Y U SO UNGRATEFUL”. Please, let me make one thing absolutely clear. Every discount, every event, every bundle in this game – they are all have one purpose. To make Wargaming more money. Not to please the players (or at least not primarily), not to make you happy but to make money. And that’s absolutely fine, Wargaming is no charity. You however have to treat (especially) every discount not as a favour for you (as some players sadly do), but as a business deal.
I don’t think BT-SV is crap. The gun is nothing special, and the armour is ‘interesting’ at best, but holy shit it’s retardedly fast in straight lines. I would call the tank ‘average to good’.

if you watch closely, you get a small amount of gold for your 100€ aswell.

I own a BT-SV and while it is not ‘worth’ €99 it is not crap either. I got it for my 40th birthday from my wife as it was something different. I enjoy playing it and will look forward to seeing a few more on the battlefield so I can more easily platoon up with them.
No, the offer is nothing special in itself beyond the rarity of the tank. If you are in the target demographic that WG are aiming at, players with high levels of disposable income, then it may well appeal.
If I did not have a BT-SV already, this is a package I would seriously consider buying as it offers something new and different on top of premium time and gold.
Exactly. I dont think this is a bad bundle, compare it to the usual 30k for 99€ bundle in the shop. You trade 2500 gold for 1 month of premium, then you get a free tank. If you are going to buy the regular top gold pack then this one is better value.

How do you know there is a full leak of all days? Would you post it here?
Well SS posts the monthly missions already, and players plan based on those… so why is the advent calendar a different thing?
My guess is these advent missions are more “secret” than the regular monthly mission rewards.
But enough about rationalizing and justifying, i just want the friggin’ calendar.
Bought my BTSV off eBay 2 months ago for NA server. Just a fun tank to play, which I play daily. can’t say that for most my 181 tanks in my garage.

Is it worth 99 Euro with the extras includedl? In my case I would say – hell yes.
Even though I’d eventually buy and use 27k of gold, and even though I’d eventually need another 30 days of premium, and even though I’m a collector… 100 Euro on day 1 of the calendar on a tier III – too much, even for me. Probably.
Question is though – does this early appearance of a very rare bird suggest we’ll see Type-59 later on in the calendar?

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic. I have an SU76I, its not that good to be honest. FCM Pak40 is way better, in every respect.

the 76is is more mobile, has fairly good armor for its tier, great traverse, and great gun arc. Don’t get me wrong, the FCM is a great tank, but the factors that it doesn’t have that the 76i does is what makes it op. And while the FCMs gun has a little more pen and a tiny bit better accuracy/aimtime ratio (slightly better accuracy too), it’s no where near to being on par with the 76i as far as armor and mobility. That’s why the 76i is op: in the hands of a good player who knows how to reposition the tank and use such mobility and amor adequately, you will never fall below dealing 500 damage in the tank no matter the tier (it also has preferential matchmaking which the FCM doesn’t get, btw)

When they sold LeFH bundle, they sold 14500 gold, and gave the arty as a bonus. That was a fair deal, since I needed gold, and the arty was coming as a bonus. (plus, it was the bundle for bovington)
This bundle brings a shitload of gold, but unless you want to stash gold for the next year and buy 1 year premium account with the usual christmas discount, I cannot see where the interest is.

Here, I beg to differ. Mostly players who considered getting gold even before (for whatever reason) will get it. If there will be 10% of buyers of this bundle who will buy it for BT-SV, it will be too much. The BT-SV will be just “bonus” for most buyers, not actual purpose of buying. The price is too much for that.
but if you see it like that, there’s actually no real discount here since you can always get 30500G for 100€ which would be 500G more if you subtract 30 Days of premium time. (with no discount, neither on the gold nor the premium time, which both come regulary)
so basically you’re paying the equivalent of 500G for the BT-SV. If you happen to want that tank this is a good deal. if you don’t want it -> don’t bother, wait for some discount on gold and premium time.

That’s calling it too much ;) It has developed a bit into the negative outlook, but SS has always been known for that, and the development has some history behind it too.
Nothing is for free. There is not even such thing as “buy one, get one free”, or anything like it. If it’s free, you do not have to do ANYTHING or pay ANYTHING to get it. If there is ANY requirement whatsoever to get your “free” item, it is not free.
That depends on how you define “free”. For example if you have two different packs for the same price, but one of them has something “extra”, then technically that extra content can be considered free.
But it doesn’t have to, of course, and you can considered the price “spread out”. Both views are valid, IMO.
Yeah. I guess it comes down to “extra” vs “free – if you buy something”. In my opinion though “extra” describes the actual terms of purchase more accurately.

Otherwise you are being suckered into opening your wallet by a few pixels.

If you go from these closest prices, you get to (27,500/30,500) * 99.99 + 9.95 = 100,1€
So the price of BT-SV is actually some -0.20€ (a.k.a “for free”). I think the issue is more of people not having enough money to get such a big pack than a business profitability or not.
That’s not actually bad, IF you are hellbent on spending a relatively large amount of money. But again, they advertise it as a BT-SV bundle, not a gold bundle and that’s what bothers me a bit.
Am not… but only since I spend relatively large amounts of money on some other stuff, for WG I spend only on month prems and small-ish premiums (Schmalturm, 76I, etc)

And SS have point here. I remember when they finally release M4A2E4 on more cheaper bundle, a lot of arse get hurt, though technically they only pay for gold/credit/prem. For most people, the tank is real reason they get the bundle and any premium.gold bundled together are bonus.

27500+2500(month worth of prem) its 30k, if 99.99 gives you 30.5k means they ARENT even giving you the tank for free, the tank cost 1k, so you are paying 50% of the tank.
and for a “100€ offer” 500 extra gold is a kind of joke
But you aren’t buying 30,000 or 30,500 gold, you are buying 27,500 gold + 30 days of premium. So you should use 27,500 gold price (which isn’t in the offer, so I used the closest value) and price for 30 days of premium.
Converting it in price makes more sense, because that’s the actual universal payment and what interests you the most in this case, unlike the gold (especially the premium => gold conversion is kinda weird in this context).
you are making a single payment, so you should look for the closest in € and then sum all the gold cost of the items to compare.
its not the same buy 100€ worth of prem in 10€ packages than do it in the biggest one, the first one will give you 25000 gold and the last one will be 30500(for 99, 1€ cheaper), so it has no sense buy a single 10€ package when you are making a way higher payment.
and with that in mind you get the exclusivity of the tank and a whooping 1.6% discount, when other smaller sales have like the 7000g+30 day prem has a 12% discount.

For the casual gamer or someone who would just like to have the BT-SV as a part of their tank collection, the price is way too high, but if you were going to buy 20k+ gold anyways this deal is decent.

If it was a 49.99 bundle I would consider to buy it, as the tank was very interesting in my eyes. 99.99 is just way too much for me, even considering the fact I can’t play the game without lagging lately. I’ll wait for other bundles to appear and for 9.5 to fix the issue they named to resolve my lag problems.

I know that, but I normally don’t buy loads of gold and therefore I would only have considered if it was a cheaper “gold bundle” featuring a BT-SV. I normally only buy gold for prem account and once in a few months a prem tank.

Also I feel it’s needed to note that much of the income from this goes back to development (especially with the decreasing rate of rubl this is true), so saying it’s “making money” is kinda weird (I always feel it has the sound of: “This goes to their villas on Bahamas”). It’s just a part of their income, be it for development or profit.

No money from me, no profit, no income, get ass to optimize/balance/update the game. No proper updates? I will give more time to Doom. I have plenty games to play, so no big loss to me. WoT is a great game but WG makes it downfall in my eyes. And im not understand pepole who spend hundreds to thousands of their money, when I can buy up to 25€ great AAA game, or few smaller for same prize. Just bunch of empty pepole who think that they are pros and only what they can show is wallet, nothing more.

this bundle isn’t not that good , in the collector package the bonus is 3 month premium 10000 gold and a 100% crew bt sv, not so long ago you could find bt-sv + pz II J for about 200 eur for both on auctions. it s close to the same price as the auction which is outrageous i think.
i own one and honestly the t-127 is better overall , the speed is great but it turn like a ship thus making you unable to use the armor properly.
The pz II J is fun but it s not really worth that price too , you will loose money with it if you want to do any decent dmg , i think the su76 i is better then both of these and you could get one for 5 euro , if i could go back i would never have bought these 2 premium tank just the su 76i . i have all 3 of them , trust me.
But remember, that you cannot get the II J or BT-SV collector package for EU anymore (those shops, which sold it, introduced a new version of that package, which now works only on RU server), so if there will be any offers on e-bay, their price should get sky-high, because of that.
What he said. I got BT-SV and for what it is I admit it is relatively fun to play. Is it worth the money or the hassle? Not really, T127 is much better and much more consistent in the battle (you can’t get that OP SU76i anymore though). If you really must have that BT-SV then perhaps it’s not a bad bundle but ask yourself a question: are those low tier battles fun enough to justify spending 99EUR. If you think you will shine on the battlefield and make everyone jelly then make no mistake, it will rarely happen as low tier player base are people who have only just started their coughcoughadventurecough with WOT and won’t give a damn about your BT-SV. If you’re thinking about spending 99EUR for that 27500 gold and 30 days premium time then you can find a JT88 codes on ebay for approx 18-25EUR which will give you JT 88, 1250gold, slot in garage and 7 days premium. If you already have JT88 then you’ll get 10K gold for it. You can activate up to 4 codes. So, for about the same price you will get either JT88 + 35K gold, 28 premium days and 4 garage slots or 45K gold, 28 premium days and 4 garage slots. JT88 is tier 8 and makes a s**tload of money, BT-SV not really.
The besterest stronk leak would be SS, if you could get your hands on the WHOLE ADVENT CALENDAR and leak it this week or so. I would pay you for that! ;)

And no, don’t put a Pz. II J in the shop. Already now they happen to appear a little to many times in Tier 3 battles. I have been in a situation, when I am the only survivor on II J in my team, and another one is the last one in enemy team. Trust me, it’s f***ing hard to kill a II J in another II J, you have to have some noob in the enemy tank, not to finish the game in draw.
SS i right, at least in this case. BTSV is incentive to players who will “rationalize” this bundle in a way – ‘I would buy this gold anyway in longer perspective so why not buyin now AND getiing this SOOOO rare tenk’. And then with such amount of gold they will spend it faster then they would buyin just monthly for prem time. Like, what the hell I will buy this IS6, I wanted it anyway – attitude.

Lots of us with good jobs in big cities think nothing of paying 200 euro for lunch, and taking 100 euro tax rides between meetings. Dropping 100 euro here and there on games each week (even F2P ones) is peanuts. Work hard, do well at University and live the life style.
I always tend to buy big lumps of gold, and will buy another year of premium time before Xmas, but I don’t particularly enjoy tier III battles so will not bother with the BT-SV I have the T-127 and the S35 in any event if I want to go that low.
So if you have that lunch every day that would mean you have 9000 a month income ((200+100)x30 days )) just for lunch and a ride.Not even such greatness as You have that,matey!!!

Lunches are business expenses often paid for by the supplier. What cost a £200 lunch if it gets you a £1M contract? Taxi rides, regardless of cost are a business expense, so are tax deductible, so are offset against tax payable. As the Duke says, work hard in school, get a good degree (in a subject that is in demand), set up your own business or join a good one, travel the world, stay in the best hotels, eating the best food and drink or become a zero hours wage slave. Your choice.

27500 gold for 100€, compering to 5500 Gold for 20€ I usually buy, it’s the same. Plus I would get a rare tank and 30 days of prem (2500G). Or compering to 100€ for 30500G, the tank costs extra 1500Gold. Don’t get get me wrong I have zero intention in spending so much money, but it can be interesting for people who planned to buy gold anyway. Pretty sure they don’t do this much calculations though.

this thinking is exactly what WG wants they give big package which is slightly batter than buiying it one by one and everyon is hype even tho volume discounts are absolutely normal in real life….

I think you’re getting this way wrong. This mad package isn’t ripping us off as no same player is going to go for any package that sell credits. This is a “Whale” pagage for the more-money-than-sense types and I’m happy for them to be harpooned by WG now and then. I’d much rather this than an increase in gold prices for the stuff we actually do want in game.

I got BTSV much earlier than this bundle.And between buying 30500 gold for 99,99 and this bundle i would go for gold.Main reason is that crew setup is not compatible with high tier Russ lights making this tank quite useless for grinding crew.Tank by itself is nothing much so its really not worth to spend this amount of money.Maybe if they made some smaller pack cca 30-50€ i would disagree with SS but I don’t.This bundle is purely collectors value and probably targeted as such.For ppl who are not in this group I would strongly recommend not to buy it.This is only day one so there is to be expected more and better packages to come.Once more,if you are not collector skip this bundle because in spite gold and premium days buying it for tank is not worth it.
All depends on what your monthly disposable income is I suppose. If you are bringing home £2K or £4K a month, its nothing really. If you are a kid, hard up student, zero hours wage slave, then it is. I do like premium vehicles for crew training and credits, most are garbage, but a few can be really fun. Ironically for me the three premiums that are most fun have been free! the British light tank MKIVC, the Soviet LTP and the US Combat coffin, er car.
I can’t help but think that are too many soviet premiums already. A French, Chinese, or Japanese addition might have been better, but I expect their target market is not the US or EU, but the Russian market.

I’d rather be in a BTSV than Pz II J tbh , that shit got the worse gun and hp/ton ratio in the game and 80mm front armor gets rekt by any T2 td shooting gold , 50mm on giant flat sides doesnt stand up to much either
