US server: Monday – “Secret” Tank in Gift Shop

Hello everyone,

as the American readers probably already noticed (this might be interesting also for us Europeans, since WG EU claims the events to be the same), as a part of the Thanksgiving weekend (next weekend), there will be a special “Cyber Monday” gift shop offer of an undisclosed tank:

We’ve still got something special to end the holiday weekend as we offer a host of bundles featuring a certain tank with its own mythological reputation.

Mythological reputation? What could it be? Some speculate (thanks to Chris9000 for the link) that it might be the Type 59. Somehow, I really doubt it. My GUESS? KV-5. Anyway, I like the fact they present it this way, should be a very nice surprise for the American players.

  1. I really hope it’s not a type, and at the same time I really hope it’s a type because I’d really like to have that tank. It’s probably gonna be KV-5 or M6A2E1 or such rare tank though.

    • My money are on the M6A2E1; such a useless tank that no one plays, its existence has been shrouded by a veil of mythical proportions :D

    • If its the Type I WILL get it. At the same time I guess many players would think like me so you could be right and we will have another type-spam like 2 years ago.

      • Well, depends if WG wants a lot of BLING over the weekend (Type on sale)… maybe for Serb’s 3rd marriage or something…

        On a serious note, I also doubt Type will be on sale. More than likely on of the other rare tanks which we can’t buy in game.

    • Yea, I also hope it won’t be Type 59. M6A2E1 is possible, but KV-5 is not that rare. It was in gift shop few weeks ago.

      • They can’t sell the exclusive CBT tank in the NA or EU store.

        Same goes for the pre order tanks.

        Most likely it will be the Pz38h735(f), in a bundle with gold and large repair kits for $99

        • Some people will still buy it at that price even tho Mini Maus is now a shadow of its former self. Haha suckers.

    • Oh man, if they would just release that tank again I would be so happy. I had 970 games in open beta so I was never given that tank :(

    How many tanks are there really, with a “mythological reputation”? The Tiger, and maybe the Sherman?

    • You have to remember the tank has to be in the game already. They’d have to add a minipatch for anything new and that’s highly unlikely to happen.

  6. Any info about EU servers getting this kind of offers/bonus??? I know that thanksgiving day is not an international holiday; but it would be apreciatted.

  7. I want it to be the Type so badly. This way I can take my four skill Type 59 crew out to harvest the tears of all the new Type drivers that don’t know how to use the tank as well as I do.

      • You’d be surprised at how many bad Type 59 drivers there are out there. Fact to many of them actually believe in all the hype that surrounds the tank, and they get really stupidly overconfident. I should know I was one of those people for the first 700ish battles in my Type. 1,000 battles latter and my overall Type 59 stats still suffer because of it.

    • Yeah you just think that you can hadle Type59. Really nowadays it isn’t having such gread armor as it used to do. Just like KV-5 about 1 year ago. Really i see many pubbies driving Type like spotters, heavies etc. They actually have no clue about driving Medium tank. Please recosider what you’re wishing for. Bad Type 59 driver means -1 tank for the team

  8. It would be nice if it is the Type 59 even on Eu Serv.
    But a real mythological….. mmh… could be the M51 Isherman…. based on the M4 Sherman
    bit with 105mm gun from french AMX…. this could be a fine tank…

    • release a tank in the giftshop without even testing it?
      Even then it would have leaked years ago.

    • Initially it was the same price as the Lowe, then it was the same price as the Type 59.

      Why would you have bought the KV-5 instead of either of those?

      Then the IS-6 came along, more expensive but easier to use.

      • Because those who had farmed so much money with it that they don’t need it, or those who bought it are playing the game for such a long time that they simply doesn’t want to grind anything, OR they got so skilled that they don’t loose money even when playing with T10s

    • Because it has low pen and obvious weakspot at the front. You have to carefully aim your shots and try to save R2D2. It clearly disqualify a lot of wot players for driving this tank, if you know what i mean…
      In my opinion, this a pretty good and unique tank.

      • I honestly don’t know why I bought the KV-5 last time if was in the gift shop. Since then I have only played 20 -30 battles in it. The T34 and Type 59 are still my go to credit grinders.

      They tried selling that once before and I don’t think they want those video clips of Victor promising an exclusive, never available ever again tank to preorder customers to resurface.

      • Yeah, I wanted to say the same! At least it won’t come to the eu server, because ppl raged really hard here, don’t know what happened on the US server… BTW It can be the light type, the Type 61 or something, or maybe the medium Type… I don’t think that the KV5 is mythical…

  12. Damn I badly want the Type but SEA always get the shittest things…. What I see in gift shop is Stupid Excelsior or Valentine or Matilda Black Prince which they constantly resell….

      • Yeah T-44-85… Silly me…

        And why not. It is being rebalanced for a good month now. So might awell apear around Christmas which will make it two months of rebalancing and that is enough imo. Afterall it was already on test server so all needed data was collected already.

      • People should know better before spending that kind of money for a premium tank.

  16. Nothing for EU :/? Panzer 2 J would be fun, imagine 15vs15, most Panzer 2 J drivers, driving around and cant pen eachother ;)

  21. The T23 was removed in patch 0.6.5 and replaced by the now tier 8 M26 Pershing. The M26 Pershing’s position at tier 9 was filled by the M46 Patton. At the time it was removed it was said that the T23 would be back in future patches.

    • Good guess. I was thinking Pz V/IV since why make changes to a tank hardly anyone owns? But maybe the T23 is even more mythical in the list of rare tanks…who knows…?

      • They made changes to it because it still sells a ton on the RU server, that goes for all of the pre-order tanks.

        Toss in the fact they balance only from numbers on the RU server and that is the reason why.

  23. Well would be weird to have a tank that is not an American for their holiday. Would be WG style but if you think more about it the most logical would be to add an American one. Well not many choices to choose from when the tank should be mythical :D. MTLS-1G14 would be a rare one and could actually be the one, but how mythical is it? As pointed out by others already it would be strange to add a “new” tank to the game, could it be that there would be something ready that have not leaked? T23 was removed before so maybe. But what tank is so Mythical in WOT really? Will be interesting to see what it is when it is revealed.

    • 2012′s July 4th WG put AMX-13(forgot which one) on sale as the special. LOL the shitstorm that ensured. Good time. Fortunately, WG and their event coordinators learnt from that and NA server got a proper special this year.

  24. Haha, If WG wants to gain 1000percent profit they’ll put in the type 59 and then watch the MM at tier 8 12 types vs 12types and 3 random poor souls…

      Read: Grind your M103 or E-75 on the day full of nood Type drivers, or Obj 704 which can 2-shot Types. Done.

  25. I think it will be the T23 as well. But the question then will it be the old tier 8 version with the 90mm cannon or a tier 6 version with the autoloading 75mm or even the 76mm m1A2 that SS mentioned beginning of the year?

  28. First of all: HOPEFULLY for EU, too. It sucks if you prefer one Server over another.. it really does.

    So my bet would be the… honestly I’m not sure. But it won’t be the type. They stated they won’t sell it again ( unless they turned even more hungry for cash… wouldn’t be that surprising, I guess ).

  36. My guess is KV-5 or Mini Maus. Putting Type 59 and Type 62 for sale again will cheapen their status as prize tanks for competition.

  38. My guess is that it will be one of the 3 following tanks: KV-5, Pz B2, or the Tetarach. Wargaming has given strong hints that these are the ONLY rare premium tanks that will return on special occasions. If I really had to guess I would say the “mythological tank” in question is the Tetarach although I am personally hoping for the Pz B2 as I already have the KV-5 and the Tetarach.

    The Type 59 is never coming back to the gift shop on any server – spoken straight from SerB’s mouth.

  39. Why’s no one guessing the Type 62? It’s rarely ever sold, but they never said they wouldn’t, so no one’s going to rage about it. It’s also not likely to be bought in swarms like if the type was sold.

  40. I wouldn’t expect too much (or anything at all). my guess is: there will be no mysterious tank in the EU gift shop yet, maybe for another occasion. just look at the specials: Thanksgiving for US server and “Winter is coming” on EU server?
    Might as well be named “Look at the weather these days” on EU server. Just one of those specials not even WG is going to promise too much for.
