New Tanks after 8.10

Hello everyone,

just so you don’t miss it, I am putting the new tank info together. It’s a mess, sort of. Evilly (the chief of Russian community) wrote at first that in the beginning of 2014, there will be tier 8 premium Japanese medium tank:

Which one could it be? It’s possible it will be a STA-B prototype (picture by Daigensui – when asked, Daigensui just shrugged and said it’s an option). But it seems to be moot, as Storm specifically wrote on the same day that there will be no premium tier 8 tanks anytime soon:

So, which one is it? I don’t know, but I’d bet on Storm: Evilly was wrong in the past. Still, it could be nice to have a hightier premium tank. You might have also read that next after the Japanese (after a months-long break though!) might be the British medium tanks. It’s not 100 percent sure, but the probability seems higher than zero, since Storm mentioned it.

What do we know of that branch? Well, it’s tier 10 is most likely the Vickers MBT (or Vijayanta), as it is known in India. This branch also contains the Firefly (specifically admitted by Storm). What other tanks are there? Well, according to an old leak, the tanks available are:

Additionally, this branch is likely to contain the Australian Sentinel tanks, as Chieftain confirmed before those have been already made (further tanks leaked to be considered in March were Sentinel I, Sentinel AC4 (17pdr Sentinel, also called Thunderbolt), Ram (I or II, can’t remember – one of them is in the game already, one is not), Sherman III). Tier 8-9 will probably be problematic, needs something with 20pdr. But overall, this branch could be fun. However, it does remove one “slot” from allegedly three 2014 vehicle full branches, another one being the German TD’s, leaving us with only one left…

Oh, and there was also a confusion with Type 64 light tank – earlier Veider or Storm stated that it was to be China exclusive, but later corrected himself – even though it’s not in the preliminary patchnotes, Type 64 will be sold in the ingame shop in 8.10 too for gold.

  4. SS? Vickers MBT? It was made from pieces of Chieftain. Can we assume Chieftain may appear too?

      • But wasn’t vickers MBT just cheaper version of centurion? I know much about war tanks (and projects) but i’m not realy into post war designs but I thought that Vickers build this tank for export because centurion was too expensive for armys of other countrys (for example India) and if I’m right (but I can be realy wrong) how it will suit tier 10?

          • It won’t suit tier 10.It is basically a paper centurion 3 . The Indians kept the tank with the infantry and holding divisions the t 55 served in the strike formations ..(basically the indians considered the t55 superior).

    There are many branches that were waiting for their turn for a long time: 2nd US medium line, 2nd French medium and heavy lines.

  7. SS, two things:
    1. That’s a Sherman III or M4A2. You can tell by the hull shape (welded flat plates, not cast eggshell)
    2. The Ram II is already in the game, but the British one will *also* be a Ram II, rather than Ram I. However, it will be a late production model, while the US version is early production.

  8. Where have you seen there would be a third TD line for the german in 2014?
    I highly doubt it considering the german just got a 2nd one AND that their trees are rather well furnished compared to other nations.
    If the firefly line rumor is true tho, would it really be considered a 2013 or 2014 branch anyway? could go both way.

    French heavy along with american and french medium should have high priority.

          • pretty sure they said sturmtiger wouldn’t appear in 2014 if it ever did in the past.
            It s also really unlikely they would release another german TD line for a while.

            Just would like to know where it s been said that sturmtiger would be one as it makes zero sense.

            • The last time FTR mentioned any official statement on the SturmTiger (think it might have been August or September), Storm said it was slated for 2014

      • only because people have waited for a new us medium branch for a long time, but really french heavy/med should be prio atm, but then again it s wg so who knows.

  12. Finally the Australian Designed tanks will have a chance to rule their tiers.
    After all, Thunderbolt had a 1 piece cast hull and turret, armed with a 20pdr gun and 3 Cadillac V8 engines. If they model it right, it will play like a big Matilda.

    • Yugoslavian tanks will most likely appear in European tech tree. The speculative date would be somewhere between 3rd/4th quarter of 2014 and early 2015.
