How much XP will the IS-6 really cost?

Hello everyone,

so, how much will the IS-6 cost you in experience? Is it 700k XP, right?

Well, no, wrong. There are two things unaccounted for in that equation: free XP and the price of Japanese tree. If we disregard the XP needed to unlock other tier 6 vehicles apart from the Japanese one, it’s most reasonable to first grind the old nations: USA, USSR, France, UK, Germany and China. Each will cost you 100k XP, which means 600k XP in total, which means 30 thousand free bonus XP, that you can use to unlock the Japanese vehicles.

In order to get to Japanese tree tier 6 (shortest way possible, not necesserily the best), you need 66040 XP via the medium line and 65035 XP via the light line. You can dump 30k free XP for this tree, which will leave you at least 35035 XP to grind for, IF you completely disregard other vehicle modules. But then there’s the free XP gain from the remaining 35035 XP. Since you are always getting that 5 percent bonus, all you need to get is 33367 XP to get to tier 6, so the XP starts counting towards your goal. Thus, the IS-6 will cost you 733367 XP with the quickest route through the Japanese tree. At least I hope I have the numbers right :)

More reasonable (and perhaps faster) approach would possibly be to invest into other modules as well. To be honest, I think it’s a shame to skip the lowtier Japanese tanks just so. 30k XP is doable in one day, but not easily.

    • I don’t agree for unicums :P Being good at game doesn’t necessary mean you have that much free time to grind that hard. Ofcourse being good will help you do it faster, but still it’s neglectable compared to the total amount of exp you need for this mission.

    • Uncool bro… JK it’s totally true… and you wanna know a secret? We still become docters;)

    • I don’t get it.

It’s a good mission. If you REALLY want the IS-6 – there is your chance. Equal rights I say!

You can either pay for it OOOOR grind your way to it. It’s supposed to be hard that’s almost 12k gold for only doing in-game missions.

If you want the IS-6 but can’t afford it – now’s your chance.

I have already have it and even if I didn’t I wouldn’t farm it but there are people who might.

It’s not a mission that’s supposed to be completed by everyone. It just seems like – hey non-paying players now you get a chance to get a solid premium tier 8. Have fun with it. :D

    • I’m Asian and I just gonna buy this thing. If I ever need it. (220 is good enough for crew and I had Löwe for money anyway.)

  1. Except unicums dont play german, chinese and japanese tier 6s, because they dont want their stats to plumet. So its only for the asian internet cafe community, and that few dozen dungeon dwellers with 80+tanks already in the garage.

    • *looks at over 80 tanks in his garage*

I’m sorry, but I have better things to do than waste time playing a couple dozen battles on each nation’s tier VI tanks.
I have to make sure the monsters in my dungeon are fit and happy in case more heroes invading it.
Maybe also gather some mana for Horny…

  2. I have already choose the tanks based on that I like them or that anyway I’ll have to get more than 100k xp to get to the nex tier.
    Type 58
    SU-100
    Cromwell
    ARL-44
    Hellcat
    VK 36.01 H
    Chi-To

  3. I would rather buy this tank than lost so much time in mid tier vehicles that are mostly meh to play. Looks like WG needs some attendance in this holiday season. I also suspect a horrid gameplay that will wait for as when all those tomatoes and nobrainers rush the battlefields to grind their free gold tank… It’s already bad with x3, getting super annoying with x5 bonus. Not sure I will play at all, this would only ruin my stats and fun factor.

  4. The IS-6 reward is a bit ridiculous. I would never waste so much time while seal clubbing in tier 6 vehicles. And forcing me to play Chinese tanks? No way.

Much easier to just mow some lawns and buy yourself that IS-6.

  5. The thing that further devalues the IS6 is the fact that you need to buy a tier 6 of every nation because most likely you wont have a million t6s in your garage. Also if you dont have any of the t6s elited you are going to need credits/free exp to get past the horrid stock grinds as fast as possible.

    • The same with the 7 days premium mission with tier 5s. It’s for people that can acytually do it without ruining their other grinds

  6. Let me see if I get this right. I have all t6 unlocked, except the Japanese tree, of course. So you will need 100k xp in each nation in one tank? 20k exp/day for a month? and have to be in top 10? ( should not be an issue.)
So would need 5 million credits, with the discount just to purchase them all, if 30% discount?
3001 D any good? Have not ground through it yet.
    cromwell
    kv1s
    Hellcat
    arl 44-uck
    type 58
    3001 D-if it is good
    Japneese

20k xp/day should not be too tough when getting 10k or so from doubles/day. (low end)

    • Or work for one hour, wait for 25th of desember and buy is-6 for aprox 38 €. Time saved playing ARL 44… priceless!

  7. fair warning, if you don’t like the IS2 line, don’t waste your precious TIME to grind this as IS-6 is amazing but only for those who like Russian heavies…

  8. Soviet: KV-2 (derp time)
    USA: Sherman Easy 8
    UK: Churchill GC
    Germany: VK 36.01
    China: 59-16
    France: ARL-44
Japan: the one and only tier 6

  9. Russian Line is the easiest to do. If u have all t6 tanks, td, arty. You can do it in 12 days, just with playing for the first victory.

  10. is it really that much? Lets do some maths…

so lets take those 700k (ill leave the 33k out), means 100k per tank…
now: do doubles every day in your 7 tanks. (a normal double should be around 2k xp) that times 10 if you are not a hardgrinder and leaving the major holidays out (makes 20k xp for doubles).
    Now add 5 games per tank in the x2 xp all day long – event (750 xp avg x2 = 1500) = another 7500 + 2 dailys with 4k (x2 + x2) = 15.500
now add the x5 event for 3 days in each tank = another 15k xp

failed doubles happen, lets round the numbers up with it: 52.000 xp for like ~ 20 games in 30 days on each tank (140 games total).

the rest (48.000) divided through a reasonable xp rate (700 avg) will bring you to ~ 70 games per tank to get the needed 100k filled up. = makes ~ 500 games on all tanks together from 50 k to the desired 100k

you see where im going? you start to collect and it will go easy, smooth and fast. but to finish it you will be in a horrible grind ^^ id say the system is clever… binding players to the game by making them believe grinding is easy and fast.

  11. 16 mil credits in the bank.

S100y the only prem tank I pleay to train 6th sense on su100m crew.

Mission requiremnts look like a second job.

I dont think I am going for it.

Good luck to the ones who are.

  12. To determine the top 10 XP scores, only basic XP will be counted (no first victory bonus, premium account bonus, etc.).

DOES this actually mean they want us to grind 100 000 xp with NO premium bonus????

    • Why is it so hard to understand?
It means they don’t want bots to appear in battles.
You can get your 100K XP with doubles, tripples, etc, it all counts toward the mission.

  13. A you all probably noticed, you got the 100k exp mission for Japanese tree completed after first battle with t6 and being in the top 10. First I thought it was a mistake from WG (that wouldn’t be anything surprising at all since they manage to f**k up EVERY event), but then I searched a bit and got this from unofficial source:

“KrazyPenguin is doing a diary thread and has reported this morning that completing one game towards the IS-6 mission also completes the Japanese 100k xp sub-mission. The speculation is that the 8.10 patch isn’t going to be completed early enough during the IS-6 mission, so its being given automatically.”

Fair enough I might say. And hopefully it is true.
