just to let you know, there have been a few guys contacting me about an alleged fail, since the double XP mission (that was promised yesterday) doesn’t exist in the mission list. I’d just like to let you know that the double XP works just fine. Only it’s not done via a mission.
You see, in order to make the double XP count towards the IS-6 goal, someone would create a special type of mission and probably override a whole lot of the previous rules otherwise. So, in order to avoid all the hassle, Wargaming invented a rather elegant solution: first battle double XP’s did count towards the IS-6 goal even before, so they simply blocked their resetting. Basically, the game now considers EVERY won battle to be the first victory of the day.
That’s why there is no new mission, that’s why they had to cancel the x5 victory bonus and that’s why it counts only towards victories. If they wanted to make EVERY battle to be double XP (even losses) and to make it count towards the IS-6 goal, a fair bit of programming would have to be involved. This way, it doesn’t have to be.

What is elegant about last minute fudges? I checked the website last night and it was still showing 5x today. So logging in this morning and not seeing it I’m checking the website and here to find out whats going on, rather than playing the game. Usual WG incompetance.
The elegant part is the creative use of existing ingame mechanisms to reach goals they were not designed to do without too much additional programming.
And what about the players who do NOT want the IS6 and just want 1 or 2 games per tank to get the 5x XP to grind? Yeah, very elegant, sure ….
It’s a case of pissing off some people for the sake of keeping some others happy. I don’t know why it had to be so last minute, couldn’t this have been slotted in to another weekend instead of dropping the x5 after it started?
I guess WG have a reason for it and didn’t just wake up Friday morning with a bright idea and rush it into action.
As far as the US server is concerned we have the X5 scheduled for the next weekend … So it’s a win win for us .
I prefer the x2, just don’t understand why they can’t get their shit together enough to give any notice. x2 is best for a whole days grinding unlike x5, so would have been useful to know ahead.
Elegant i question, but a least someone had the wit to do a quick and dirty fix so partial unfail. Clearly someone needs something like a control panel where they can implement whatever bonus policy they need to without the need to reprogram anything. Too much control held by Minsk.
Elegant, no, it’s what we would call a bodge. And I don’t even know what they were fixing since the mission seemed to be working as intended anyway.

I was thinking it would work like this. The first 2x weekend was planned to work but the programming would not allow a mission to count towards another mission, thus the Ninja edits from WG
A bit of a bodge job / patch up or work around but this should make completing the mission a lot faster.
A shame they didnt fail the remove of x5 then we had x5 for all wins :P

You don’t need any programming or anything complicated,the point is this are like a schedule( and to make it like russian style) they can not change them, they did not add the possibility to change the values.
Big thanks to WG for making me waste the premium code… Was planning to use the 3 days of premium to get some 5x exp bonuses to shorten the atrociously long tier 9 grinds. Instead I got one day of prem + 5x XP and a bonus that is utterly useless to me. What use is getting double xp for every win when you only have time to play for one win per vehicle per day? Now the prem time is going to waste and the 5x XP boost is moved to the new year when I have no time. Just peachy.
Yay, my comments are finally showing up! Don’t know what the problem was but in the last 5 or so days I tried to comment a few times and my comments would never show.
That’s suck, i got lot of tank in my garage, so x5 was better than x2(even for every win) for me.
I fill fucked just because they help noob to have IS6…. With x5 i can make 9K+ xp in a game… Now i need 3-4 game to make the same.
We are screwed and you all think it is cool…
