Yuri Pasholok posted another pretty interesting document – or at least a part of it… this is the way the British reported on Dr.Porsche’s wartime work. The entire thing has 425 pages.

Very, VERY interesting!
nice find
were did Pasholok find that gem, sure as hell it wasn’t in his little archive
“His” archive is by no means little, and WG collects archive materials from around the world.

Look at that typ 250…
I ACTUALLY MASTURBATED TO IT
Fucked up.
Am I right in saying Sturmgeschütz 27ton is the E25?
No, more like Typ 250
Typ 250? Never head of that.
Porsche had his own line of self-propelled guns proposals
Anyone know where I can locate a copy of the report?
I think this will be alternative to JagdPz. E-100 and WT. E-100. A tank destroyer with a Maus chassis. That is a Tank Destroyer version of Maus, right?
The Type 250/255? No, it is one of Porsche’s other designs…
?? Um, missed the 27 ton part didja?
Besides, a JagdMaus would probably look more like a JagdTiger on steroids than the E-25.
True or maybe like Jpants E100 but with more… boxy look :3
And more armour…AND without the turret of a Maus, which is a weakspot.
And it gets better, that tank had a belt-fed 105mm LEFH 43, meaning a 20 RPM 105mm derp with a slightly better AP round.
Gorgeous … And the tank itself is cute !
…has anyone ever actually gotten belt feed to *work properly* in serious cannon calibers, though?
The Japanese had a 75mm design. There are also several types of “Belts” made of different material. There is no reason why it could not work properly given enough time to develop it. But there are other solutions like the hopper, drum, drum & tray and cartage box that generally work better…
Japan did it with a 75 mm gun, Germany did it for the 75 mm gun on the Hs-129 ground attack aircraft, the British managed to pull it off with a 57 mm gun on one variant of the DeHavilland Mosquito (I may be wrong though, it might have been drum-fed).
So the answer is yes, but for the most part not for use on tanks.
So it would be like an E-25 with a derp gun…that’s actually pretty damned scary if it shoots HEAT shells.
With a giant tumor on top…
Armor from the books is unknown but if the turret drawing is accurate then the armor is about 40-50mm thick (before factoring in slope) with the frontal plate at about 80-100mm but I need to do some more precise measurements to be sure.
Might be thicker then that… need a few more pieces of info before I know for sure…
Armor is up to 120mm frontal depending on the draft.
yah I only looked at the drawing and not the proceeding page…
Special Panzer Variants has the vehicle’s specs at the end of the book
NM book lists the thickness of the frontal at 120mm at 32 degrees. Side at 45mm at 55 degrees. Turret is 80mm at 55 degrees.
