Hall of Shame no more…

Hello everyone,

after (literally) weeks of considering the matter, I have decided to drop the Hall of Shame altogether, despite the outcome of the previous poll. On one hand, it was fun, but I feel that it adds nothing to FTR anymore. I will ask you not to submit any more idiots per mail of Facebook anymore. It is my belief that even the clans, harboring most retards (EFE, FAME and others) don’t need further promotion anyway, everyone knows what kind of people they are anyway.

I hope you understand my decision.

    • I’ve just met a EFE + FAME platoons… How dumb and retards they are… They insult and are proud to be purple thanks to 100% APCR/HEAT and OP platoons…

        • I really don’t see where exactly he called those clans retarded. He said they are harboring retards, and – judging from your response – he seems to be spot on.

          And yeah, I seem to be part of the bad crowd too, I only shoot APCR with my 48 Patton and I’m just a tomato :(.

    I still retain the right to yell “Wall of shame” after racists when I encounter them :P

    • I agree with you that sucks I do not say I’m the best but it affects you …. but you must also think that if we take out all the hackers this game would be much better, because now everyone will say you are stupid there are no hackers in game, but they are wrong because they are also in clans and the worst are the most popular clans, maybe there are many good players but most are hackers that is clear and nobody says anything …… tell me why other clans very good can not come to take a territory on the map because they own everything and if they do will be safe only for a day …..and if you do not believe me look at this to think differently.. http://forum.warpack.net/index.php?topic=463.msg2882#msg2882

  7. The way I see it, these kind of people feel no shame for what they say/do, so no amount of public shaming will ever get through to them. They won’t see it as something to regret. You can ban them and they’ll still think they are right about what they believe.

    Call it stupidity, ignorance… it matters not. In the end they will keep on being what they are and doing what they do. Best thing anyone can do is just stay as far away from them as possible.

  8. Voted against it in the poll, for the same reason as you. naming and shaming has a relieving effect but in the end its pointless ot even has undesired side effect.

  10. I have to agree on this one. For one, It’s sad to see that such idiots can exist. It just shows how dumb society can sometimes be. And honestly, shaming them does nothing anyways. I know that I wouldnt care if I were in their place.

  11. A good idea, it just doesn’t serve any purpose to show every month 20-30 guys yelling “fu PL n00bs”, “die jew” or “get cancer” in chat. Though funny rants who continue even after the battle should be showcased.

Oh well, at least we now know who some of the retards are ;) personally it sad to see it go, it might not have contributed much to FTR or affected them (shamers), but it at least was a nice thing to read (i guess?), just get my tea out and read the words of a retard wanker and laugh my face off.   15. I believe the Hall of Shame is actually very helpful for the community.

    Most people act irresponsibly on the internet because they think it has no consequences.
    The Hall of Shame pressures players to be accountable for their actions – their reputation, that of their clan, as well as their positions within the clan are put on the line.

    Idiots will continue to be idiots, but maybe it would discourage wannabe idiots, and purge decent clans of a few bad apples.

    We, as a community and as civilized human beings, must not tolerate uncivilized behavior lest we one day see it as acceptable.

I like your blog and all it is just I think this is a bit too stereotypical, and you calling others “retards” you are no better than those flamers.

      Most of the time it’s high efficiency players raging at:

      1. Their own team
      2. Artillery
      3. Whoever killed them

      • Most of my raging is done internally and most of the overt raging i see is sub 52% people. But still, it’s nice to see that even someone trying to project objectivity like SS over here can be a HEAVILY biased individual.

    • Polls like this are generally intended to gage sentiment regarding an issue, rather than as some kind of ‘election’ of one of the options.

      Also, with this kind of poll, statisticians will often consider a 66% positive response rate to be the balance point when there are only 2 options (this is because of factors in the human psyche relating to positive response bias, and the wording of the question).

      Hence this kind of result will be considered a 50/50 response, which means that the person/people conducting the poll can make their decision based solely on other factors.

  35. I don’t believe you gave us right reason. In my opinion you have been forced by WG to stop posting those comments as WG got warned for racist behaviors in their game.
    As the result they told you to do not provide more evidence of racist comments to the public as WG may end up with more troubles.
    That is the real reason.
