        • I think the gun is just resting on the engine platform. Probably so that the elevation mechanisms don’t get screwed up if they still work.

          • A friend of mine drives Abrams around because he is in the armored corps, and as far as i know, that’s how he always drives his Abrams when not on a battlefield.

            • Yeah, iirc the turret usually faces backwards during transport.

The vehicle is probably a little more stable in this configuration (mass more central) but in the event of an accident this configuration probably also reduces the chance of damage to the barrel of the cannon.

              • probably also is a bit more easy to work around because you won’t be scared of being shot while walking in front of it lol.

              • I certainly agree that it protects the barrel but this is presumable a static display. Saying that if you look at the first picture you can see that the towing cables look like they’ve been used recently and there’s also a concrete block almost under one of the tracks. Maybe the tank has just been moved into place?

    • They made only one of them as CW reward, the first one with M48 turret, other two can be (and i hope they will be) implemented

    • Indeed…you have no idea how pissed I was about that (I wanted one largely because my grandfather used to work on those tanks back when they first entered service – to say I was disappointed to hear that they were CW only was an understatement)

  1. Dat track tension on the Scorpion…wtf happened to it? The slack on that, if they tried to move it, would probably throw the track instantly.

  2. Silentstalker, i tried to send you some pictures from Tankmuseum Munster , Germany, a while ago via contact.
Didnt that message made it through or where they to bad to show? :P

    • Hello mate, I recieved probably like 7 or 8 batches of Munster pictures lately from different people. One was really bad, the rest was okay, but I didn’t get to publish them yet, because Munster vehicles are notoriously known and well documented.
