8000 Bots Banned

Hello everyone,

according to the news post, published on RU portal, Wargaming, using new improved bot-detecting procedures, banned recently over 8000 botters from its servers.

Well, at least that’s what they claim.

I’ve heard however a different, interesting version of this event as well – some claim that Wargaming in fact forced legally the bot creator to reveal the names of accounts, that use bots and banned them all. Not sure which is worse for the botters themselves, but if either option is true, botters on EU/US servers are in for a nasty surprise…

      • Sharing account is against EULA and is bannable anyway, let them try and use that excuse.

        • EULAs are not above the law, if they ban people they will have to return their money, so for the most part they do not ban, they just remove any content that wasn’t bought.

        if WG really did get a court order against the bot seller to reveal his customer data, it’s time to stop screwing around.

    Well i call this a great new procedure :’D would be effective

    • From what I know Wargaming. I don’t think they would use help from anyone, specially a bot programmer and if they did, The bot programmer could have gotten players that he hate easily banned just by saying their name.

      • You’re forgetting that with the list of names from the bot coder, they can cross reference that with the fact they have every bit of data about every player that plays.

        They could easily see if someone was truly botting of not with both sides of the story at their disposal.

        Let’s say the bot creator hates “Player Y” and puts him in the list. WG looks and sees “Player Y” has excellent stats and routinely plays well with high eff. Not a bot.

        Even if player Y isn’t a good player, the trend of how his rounds play out will not always be the same if it’s a human at the helm making decisions that aren’t based on math formulas that the bot can’t alter if it sees something that piques it’s interest.

        • If the not creator had to release the not users info, I am pretty sura that it would include credit card and/or PayPal info. That way they don’t need username.

  4. recently a player at EU server, from my clan, got a ban for “bot”, because he got a lot of “inactive/bot” reports, he had terrible stats. but no, he was not a bot.

    • Doesn’t matter if he’s a legit bot or not. If he plays like a bot, he should be treated as such.

            • I never said what you should take offense at, I did in-fact say “in my eyes”, which means that it is my personal opinion, and therefore may not be shared by others.
              Regardless, I don’t care whether or not someone is good at World Of Tanks – it’s just a game, and they didn’t choose to be bad at it.
              But if you’re an arsehole, well that’s even worse, because you chose to be an arsehole.
              Just my personal opinion of course.

              • Actually, a lot of tomatoes DO choose to be bad-or, at least, they choose not to improve. Why do you think people get so many “stfu noob I play 4 fun” responses when they point out a baddie’s mistakes and give him advice?

                Now, I can’t speak for this clanmate of his, although I also don’t know whether he really is botting. (Sure sounds like it, though.) That said, there are plenty of crap players that play abysmally, using idiotic tactics that I can’t fathom would be in any way enjoyable, who are perfectly fine with ruining the rest of the team’s fun. See, they’re both bad players AND arseholes.

    The sense of satisfaction when you researched the last tank in line and drove it for a spin….is priceless….after you has gone thru all the pains and frustrations grinding….

    I enjoyed the process and satisfied with the end result…again priceless..

    If you choose to bot instead, might as well go and buy a account…….

    • you just proved that grind in this game is annoying and a big chore yourself. i got a new job so i wasn’t going to get time to play wot. i asked my cousin to grind out few tanks for me, 3 weeks later i try to log in and banned for bots. checked my stats, my retarded cousin used bots to grind out the exp.

      i forced him to buy me a new account as a price for the ban, oh well lol

        • your random cousin knew how to purchase bot program from its developers and use it….are you serioulsy FUCKING ME? you asked him to grind couple of tanks(reminder: you asked him to do you a favour, not ordered him) so why the fuck would he bot on your account….he could just as well said that he’s not interested in doing it…all that implying it was “your cousin” and not you, your dirty retarded botter shitlord….i’m fucking glad you got banned…

          • nope he actually bots, his account is yet to be banned. mine got banned because the change in stats was so obvious. 50 winrate to > 44 is gonna throw red flags. my couz owed me so yeh i did order him

  10. Time to smash the bot banhammer down on EU servers too, at least 1-3 bots or blatant botters out of 30 in almost every match. If they land in top tiers, the match is definitely ruined.

    • Dont mix BOTs and intentional AFKers into one pot. A bot moves and imitates player actions while afkers just sit in base or move a few meters behind a cover and afk afterwards. These ppl afk trough tiers and play here and there. BOT should be insta perma ban, but afkers should get temo ban. I would aply the rule 3 times and perma.

      • there are some badly scripted bots, that afk in the base but will shoot anything that gets spotted.

        • both of those should be banned, i don’t give a fuck if your bot program actually moves and shoots or it just afks…shitlords deserve ban in both cases

    8 million to go….
    Nowadays it’s beyond rare to jump into any game and tier, and not find those 10k+ games sub 200 wn8 botters
    Hell even one with 88k battles… probably still not banned
    Daily losing hope on the game

  19. I’m from Algeria … where there is the worst internet service imaginable … ping around 200 and getting disconnected all the time … I expect I had a lot of inactive/bot tickets the last two months … Hope not to get banned … and F***K my internet provider. GL & HF.

    • get better internet connection.. you realize if you DC alot you put your team in a bad spot ? don’t play if you can’t play in .. decent conditions

      • I have an i7 GTX 770 16 Go + double 128Go SSD in Raid. and Algeria is not even in the top 20 countries in Africa. By the way we don’t have credit cards either. You have to trust someone to pay something for you … but they use stolen cards almost all the time (so not an option)

    • How did he whine about it? He actually informed us it happened and that it was maybe by other means, either way he didn’t say oh that’s bullshit that they banned people for being bots. Reread then reply!

      • The first 1k games maybe, then one starts to learn the game and uses common sense.

        Well a small percentage do, the rest continue to be useless scrubs, fail to tier 10 and blame bad play on MM, RNG, teams, gold rounds, haxx and Serb.

        I like red players, on my team they are the meat shield and scouts with there yolorush, and the red players on the enemy team give me lots of xp and money when they run in front of my gun. GG, never change you silly scrublings. :)

  28. And on the NA server they hide them so you can’t report them. Look up BararkOBieber they won’t come up in the player search or on their clans page yet in game are shown as playing. They are also on tankleader’s forum with the same name.
