As a part of the fighting against the bots on RU server, Wargaming permanently banned only today more than 1500 accounts of botters, who used bots despite previous 45 day ban warning. Now I wish EU server did the same thing…

- 9.3 will be released “later” than Tuesday (SS: Thursday I think)
- T49 will not have another 90mm gun
- T67 turret armor will be fixed in the final 9.3 version
- Storm states that the HD IS-7 armor was not nerfed, everything is roughly the way it was (there are differences like 1-2 degrees of angle etc.), the side of the turret is even stronger than before
- XP bonus for “tanking” (blocking shells with armor) and the punishments for suiciders will definitely not appear in the final 9.3 release version, it does however not mean the features were scrapped

Storm explains why it was removed:

“Without doublechecking by collecting the stats, we can’t release such changes. Accordingly, the formula has to be changed, released to live server (in such a way that the XP bonus was not issued, only written in statistics), the statistics have to be collected and only then it is decided whether such a thing can be released or not. The “tanking bonus” stats are collected and analysed since Spring. There were several iterations. Current fail is connected to the fact that in the previous iteration, the stats were not collected and processed correctly.”

- the high quality of HD models is needed for the hangar and for the time when the battle starts (the countdown) and players are looking at the tanks
- the aim circle “lag” (circle not getting smaller) for the T49 is caused by the fact that the aim circle is too big and circles above certain limit are not displayed, they simply do not appear to get smaller until they reach the proper size
- the IS-7 in test 2 is still bugged, the barrel (without the muzzle brake) is displayed in low resolution. It will be fixed.
- online number and server name will be added to the top of the hangar interface, otherwise Storm considers the new hangar UI to be correct, it won’t be changed
- FOV will not be changed: “We already reduced FOV. Earlier, everybody whined ‘return it to the way it was’ and we did.”
- new Stronghold features (the ones shown in test 1) were removed for fixing as well, it’s possible they will be implemented by a micropatch between 9.3 and 9.4
- on Havok: “Havok is just a client-side destruction eye-candy. And nothing more. It is not in any way related to tank and shell physics and other stuff.”
- an idea to disable the penalty for suicide, when artillery barrel crosses the allied tank (SS: as in, allies blocking arty): “It’s possible to make all that, but for now it makes no sense.”

  1. T49′s reticle takes up half of my screen and I hit moving shots from 300 meters. Good stuff, lag will never succeed.

    • Did you not listen? It isn’t because of lag. I quote:

        Also, I’m just stating that lag and the aiming bug cannot stop the T49, big reticle or small reticle.

        • you dont understand… its not lag.
          Its even bigger than you can see it…

          example (a tank has 0.6 accuracy for example):
          lets say you can see circle as big as accuracy “0.9″ while moving.
          after a few seconds (what you call lag) it starts to slowly shrink to “0.6″ size.

          In fact, it was as big as 1.4 accuracy.. (after a few seconds, what you call lag,) it finally shrinks from those 1.4 to 0.9
          Only from this moment, you can SEE the circle shrinking 0.9 – 0.6. Problem is, 0.9 size circle is exactly same as 1.4 size or 35.6 size…

          You can see this “lag” as you call it on all low tier guns – tier 1,2 when the gun is damaged…

          They simply cannot draw the circle bigger than 0.9 or what you see it…
          Imagine you got dead gunner, and destroyed gun and moving in t49… you would need eyefinity and 4 other monitors to display how big that circle is…

          • I KNOW THAT. I’m just stating that server lag and buggy reticles that are too small don’t stop me from making crazy shots. I understood every word, but thank you for being productive and trying to explain it anyways.

              yeah, the game is full of hidden soft stats…
              KV-2 is surprisingly good sniper with that derp gun!

                • no really, i know its 0.6 accuracy, but its really strange how often it hits the target. I had no problem hitting target 300-350m away. As long as neither of us move ofc.

            • Clearly you don’t know or you wouldn’t call it buggy. Its not a bug. The reticle is designed that way so it never gets so huge to clip off the screen or into UI elements. Its also easier to see when the largest it gets is only a portion of the screen, not the entire thing. Even if you don’t like it its not buggy.

    Am I wrong when I say that it could certainly change the way (city)maps are played?

    Because if it is indeed a changing factor it appears as more to me than just “eye-candy”.

    • Buildings blocking line of sight won’t be destructible to the level it would allow players to drive or shot through them. Likewise, if it’s just client-side, any debris from destroyed buildings would most likely not stop shells either. Or make the tanks behave any differently when traversing through them… Now that I think about it, it sounds like a disappointment waiting to happen.

      • why did they say two days ago(read it somewhere here on ftr), that it takes so long to implement, because it must have SAME effect on all computers… ?

        if its just eye candy… why is it so important to look the same ?
        The only reason I can come up with is, that the brick that falls on the road on coordinates x,y has to be there for all clients, because it will be an obstacle…
        if its not, why care if its different on every client? I dont care if you got grass turned on, grass is just eye-candy…

          Players have to see the same things, like destroyed building floor.

    • And tactics… now arty can play a role as demolition squads… think in blow up hard covers (i think in farms) or create barricades in cities… if i understand it correct is possible using havok destroy a full building and made it block a street with rubble… now arty can be very dangerous in cities because it can destroy houses OVER tanks, enemy and friendly… i expect WG had this in mind because could be a problem no the option, the use players can do to this in RANDOM teams and well RNG doesnt help a lot a well aimed shot with a good idea in mind could finish horrible bad by +-25% factor (i see in future the final scene in Expendables III ala WOT).

  3. Release for next Thu — I hope they get it right; it seemed they had a lot changes in the second iteration — Should not they have a 3rd iteration in the test server before they do the release to live?

    Anyway, I have the 92k xp for the tier 8 light German and also for the tier 6 american. Ready to see how those 2 tanks help me with the daily mission ;-)

  4. Yea, new models have strange bugs, for example in T49 i was ammo racked by a LT-54 and the turret stay around 1 minute on this position after fall to floor

    No 2nd gun for T49… well the stock gun is good enough IF you conect a good hit in a weakspot but is not rare see 40-70 hp hits and armored beast is better leave them for others… remember me a lot T21 situation but with a gun that could be a paper killer.

    But maybe i dont see bad add a 2nd 90mm gun for T49, a more regular gun like the one in RU251

    • On Supertest, it had the 90mm M41, the stock gun on the M48 Patton. Would’ve yielded 173 penetration with AP, 263 penetration with HVAP, and 240 damage.

      This would’ve made so much more sense.

      But Wargaming is basically putting the T49 in the game as a money grab.

    • For me is a question of use player stats+battle performance in last… 25 battles, a suicider is a guy that do it a lot of times and not in a battle of lets say 1000.

      I remember suicide 2-3 times because i was the last guy (usually in arty) VS a swarn of enemies and well suicide is not allways against team interest
      1- negate enemy the extra xp/credits
      2- try made a killer fail killing me and come with me to Drowned God reign hehehe.
      3- kill a guy before he kills a teammate (usually i do this in scouts ramming heavy damage tanks and with this i save a more usefull battle for the victory)
      4- fail scouting… sometimes when you try a spot and run you have 3-4 guns waiting you with tons of love and HEAT.

      • 3 and 4 is you getting killed by enemy, that aint suicide that is kamikaze.
        2 can be solved by put in a meganism that when you are closer then 50 meters from an enemy at the moment you die it is fail try to kill someone. more just bad luck.

  6. Just a question, the lines that are known to be currently worked on are the second american medium branch and the english medium/td hybrid, but is there any other lines ?
    May be it is because there is no other tank lines to introduce that the AMX-30 is scheduled for 2015… (I doubt that they wanted to introduce this tank)

        The question is …. WG is going to add tier 9 scouts??? french have AMX13 105 and USA has the Sheridan (like T49 but better derp stats and more engine) maybe problem is in the other lines… and specialy lines with no top tier scouts (chinese and UK).

        The french med line… is another option for 2015 specially after they say NO AGAIN to french secondary heavy line.

        Ummm is practically confirmed the japanese heavy line no??? the chinese TD line is more … on the air no???

        • chinese TD line is already in game. You have to open soviet tree to see chinese tanks.
          exactly as all the rest of chinks… whole tree is copy-paste of soviets. most boring tree ever. Played till tier 6 only because of mission. It really feels “special” driving yet another clone of T-34…

          IMHO I’d rather have the chinese completely removed from game just to save at least 5MB of disk space.

          • They say “no french heavies in 2015″ not “no french tanks in 2015″ MAYBE WG is going to add some dead end low tier lines… i remember when 2 years ago they finally doesnt release 2 french med tanks… tier 4-5 or 5-6 i dont remember well.

            WG has A LOT of work to do and with competitors “at the gates” they cant simple do like this year and take a break, they need made work not only the “game” area, they need made work all areas (new tanks, balance, new game modes, graphic improvements/optimization).

            Is going fun see WG doing in less than a year all they dont want do in 3 years lol.

    We even got slider to change it manually, why is anyone asking about FOV ?
    Its perfect now… if you dont like it, you can change it.

    • so? better then ppl exploid it with 15k xp a battle + premium with a X5 mission is 112.500xp u know.
      better they dont add it now or we can wait for an extra 0 behind xp needed for tanks…

    So they spent the money on having the 90mm M41 modeled onto the T49 but they won’t add it to the game.

    Why?

    Because they want you to spend money on HEAT for the semi-smoothbore, of course!

    Ridiculous. I thought they’d learned their lesson with that shit with the Konish. I guess not.

    • The HEAT-ammunition is standard silver, just saying ;)
      “Gold” ammunition is the prem HE shell… which is only worth buying in an arty :/

    • The HEAT ammo give you more pen, regular ammo is a not goldy HEAT very usefull VS weak targets (is a light killer) but the problem is heavy armored targets or not easy to pen areas… you can do 40-70 hp hits… sometimes is a very random gun BUT for a hit and run tactic or as vulture is very superior to derp because has very fast aiming.

      • 102 penetration with HEP is not useful for anything. Especially in the higher tiers that the T49 will see.

        The fact is the tank originally had the 90mm M41, which would be very useful on the tank. They made the conscious decision to remove it, fully knowing that the alternatives were both gimmicky and the only way to make the tank a truly effective, useful damage dealer was to spend gold, be it on the ammo directly or the premium account to try and support it.

        It’s a joke. They need to either buff the HEP round on the semi-smoothbore to around 150 penetration (and even that’s low..) or give it the 90mm M41 back.

    • Because people want them ASAP and when they don’t they whine and when they get them ASAP, but bugged, they whine more.

      I prefer less whine. (and before you ask – it’s impossible to have no whine if you tell people what’ll be in release, that’s not how development works. Either you say nothing – like Apple does with their she… users, “surprising them” with new stuff – or you get butthurt users)

      • I prefer more use of euros from WG in improve WOT and less in invest in FAIL games like WOWP… WTF do you think they find the money for that fail??? WOT has 2 years of evolution delay because WG is wasting beneficts from WOT in stupid things or in projects not very well planed apart they ignore comunity and implement things horrible bad… HB… years of ideas from comunity and they do a rush fail release with a shit programed in a weekend

      I bet my left arm World of Warships will not have any ships until 5 patches later.
      Water will be added in second patch. You can at least feed fish till there will be any ships/boats, etc.

    The current implementation seems fine… 70° – 120° is a better range than most games offer. Are there any issues with ultrawide monitors / multi-monitor setups? (like vert- or UI / graphical bugs)

    I’m quite sure, that some time (few weeks) ago there was a post about havok increasing traffic to server and it will be released when they reduce the bandwidth under some level…

    so what is really going on?

    • exactly!
      they also mention that certain effect (house collapsing, etc.) HAS TO look the same across all clients. … makes one think these will be dynamic obstacles after all…

  14. IS-7 is nerfed. 3 games in the row I got penned in the front of the turret, left side of the gun looking from the players point of view. Either all 3 games whoever shot was JPZ E-100 with gold and just derped right through or they made a mistake again and made a hole in the model. Anyway it should be fixed, I hope they will notice it.
