Straight Outta Supertest: Malinovka, Stalingrad and Stickers

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/3543801.html

Hello everyone,

a couple of smaller things from the supertest. First, the new upcoming Stalingrad map (hopefuly in 9.5), 900x900m city map

And, its loading screen:

The changes to Malinovka are apparently small ones. Or rather one small change – the rest of the map is unchanged.

And, last but not least, these “clan stickers” were found in the patch game files. No idea what they are for.

  1. Those “stickers” are signs used in German traffic system, so maybe a new map (in Germany) or new signs for “german” maps like Himmelsdorf.

      • Haters want to remove arty from game, But devs made no-Arty road sign instead.
        Make sense :-)

    • 1. Sticker: Maximum speed: 120 km/h
2.: “Beware, deer crossing the street”
      3.: “Bumpy road ahead”
4.: That sign does not exist exactly, though it probably means no tanks allowed (may be used in RL in front of bridges that cant hold much wheight)
5.: That sign – I don´t remember exactly – forbids agricultural verhicles on road ahead.

      • The tractor sign is to warn that there might be slow moving vehicles ahead. I imagine if it was forbidding them, there would be a line going across it.

        • Actually, there are signs in Germany which forbid certain vehicles without a line going across it.

          • Ah, I wasn’t aware of that, still I think it probably is to warn of slow moving vehicles rather than forbidding them.

        • Not in Germany. The warning signs regarding something (may it be slow vehicles, bumby road etc) or even signs like you are on the Main Road but beware crossing traffic may not see you are always triangles. Signs that do forbid something are round with red/white.

      • about sign 4: In France I’ve seen one like that. The only difference was that it was an AMX 13-75 instead of a S-51.

      • >may be used in RL in front of bridges that cant hold much wheight)

Then you’d have a sign with number of tones a bridge can hold, it’s completely made up sign aimed at arty-whiners

    • Sticker 1 and 3 are in German traffic system, 2 and 5 look a little different, 4… well… :P

    • Yep, it is :P

I am surprised that these signs aren’t obvious traffic signs to most of you :/
We use the same ones in Belgium. The Netherlands and France do, too. (well apart from the S-51 then)

  2. Pingback: Nová mapa: Stalingrad

  3. Stickers:

1: Beware of tanks with high caliber guns
    2: N00b team
    3: Use hard cover
    4: Don’t elite your KV-2
    5: Fail platoon

  4. What ever happened to the north spawn changes for Malinovka? As things stand, north still is a shooting gallery within the first minute of the game, since you don’t even need to see targets to score damage.

    • Before the recent change, the north spawn had a historically better win rate. It’s only a shooting gallery when tankers take too long to load in or decide where to go. I always considered that spawn as an early learning lesson not to waste time getting where you need to go.

    • Looks like they removed the rock there. Not sure that’s a good thing.

Also, looks like they removed noob island from the north side. Never did understand the attraction that little thing had for the unskilled.

  5. Typical WG… failed again..

the red circle means “no ..xxxx..” anyway…

you do not need the cross banding…

..and they forgot to distress the cross band…

  6. WOW. . . . FTR can you get better resolution of loading screen (2560×1600 best option) ???

  7. K3, now with cancer cover.

GG WG, you just made the map more imbalanced than it already was please just remove that broken shit map. The only way to stop that broken K3 rush is send half the team there or use something even more broken, like arty, to stop it. Neither of those 2 options have a high success rate though.

  8. The only way that they can change malinovka is to place a hill on the field to stop base camping. I hate base camping tier 8-10 heavys on that map, or any tanks besides TD’s that camp in base

    • but then if they do that, tanks with good gun depression can be hull down and have shots to anyone still camping at the enemy base
