    • It would be very annoying to play. It looks good mainly because depth of field, which isn’t too good while playing, because it confuses our eyes, and doesn’t work good when implemented by some 3rd party stuff like ENB. It was implemented once in game (before “improved render” patch, was used while aiming in sniper mode, and worked baaaaad)
BTW, this game looks like that (except DoF) on highest.

      • I don’t think so. The lighting looks different, not only the “DoF”. Maybe if you run it upscaled in 4k. And use Photoshop to change the detail of the vegetation, and explosions/fire/smoke/materials/reflections/shadows.

  1. That last picture, is that a WZ-132? It looks a lot like it, but then again there are tens of tanks which are near-clones of the T-54 – at least the layout.

    • stop complaining idiot, the movie will premiere in Europe, and you will be able to waste your money on it

  2. if WG made wallpapers like this then i would actually use them, not shitty calenders with crappy artwork and the logo taking up half the fucking screen

  3. Nice graphics, now the worst thing there is in these images are the shell holes, I mean, look at that Panther…
A predefined or lightly procedural 3D “hole” might be a good idea, perhaps with Havok.

    • You can download WoT here http://worldoftanks.eu/en/content/docs/update/.

You’re welcome, uninstall the Chinese copy you have installed because the game looks exactly like that (except the DoF which isn’t in the game for very good reasons and WG is pretty slow with actual gameplay advancements to bug them to add such a feature in replays just for the sake of making videos and screenshots).

      • Even the shadows? For example, this image of the concept:

Has far, far better shadow quality than what is currently on the live server – the current ones are very… grainy, I suppose you’d say. I also heard that 9.4 has had the shadow render tweaked. I’m curious if I can actually look forward to those good looking shadows next patch or that’s just a result of whatever ENB these images are taken with.

        • The current ones aren’t grainy (not with everything on the absolute max settings), that was the situation of shadows almost an year ago before they changed/altered them, that’s exactly how the game is, the only difference, as I mentioned before, is the cheap “applied” DoF and the slight modification of the color filter, the shadows only appear to be more awesome than some seem to think around here simply because of the new “HD” remodels and their extremely more detailed textures that have more detail with reflections and darkening of various parts simulating uneven surfaces.

          That’s how the game is.

          • The old shadows in the old render were extremely crisp and sharp. Im not sure you’re remembering correctly. They looked great, but most of the shadows were baked, not dynamic. Adding shadows that good looking to the dynamic shadows (which WG was heading towards) had a pretty severe performance hit, so they ended up severely downgrading the shadow quality in order to retain performance.

Anyway, just to calm you down, here’s what shadows look like on the current live server – extremely bad. That fuzz in the light spots on the barrel is the grain filter, which moves around with the camera (like those silly old cartoons). The first image is on max settings, the second image is with medium (god forbid someone actually look close at the shadows on medium quality):

            That’s how the game is.

            • All well and good, but some of us can’t crank all those details up, since it’s only a single core game and the frame rate drops too low to be playable. I actually use the old renderer, because it gives the best frame rates on my system.

          • Update on that debate: I just installed 9.4 to compared the shadows, prepare for your FPS to go down in 9.4, they updated them yet again and yes they look a little better better than the effect of having to force 8xMSAA on 9.3, not only that, textures too, even normal textures have a lot more detail than the “HD” optional pack from 9.3.

Pretty weird to not bring these enhancements into discussion on their own in any of the recent blog posts since test was released, especially since there’s nothing more juicy for SS and most of the players than to curse WG for except bad performance.

In short, yes, shadows and textures are a lot better than 9.3.

            • Here you go:

9.3 (Which is by no means grainy compared to how WoT’s shadows were till 8. something when you’d have most of the shadows covering your tank as actual grains):

              9.4:

Having made that comparison and watching them side by side, the texture part wasn’t true, they did however slightly alter the lighting and due to the shadows they do seem to have more detail in action and not zoomed in at a few tens of cm.

              • Thanks a ton for the side-by-side. That’s a rather large improvement, especially for thin features like the little handlebars in that image or the basket turrets on the Cent and Leo. You can actually tell what is casting the shadow now.

  4. i want that t55a nooow its so damn sexy *fap*fap*fap*

oh and i also want that panther thingy because i want a crewtrainer for my e-50m crew^^
