here’s an interview video with Anton “Evilly” Pankov, WoT producer. Inside:
- the project World of Warships will “finish the trilogy”
- WG has several projects they are not talking about yet beyond that
- regarding the alleged drops in WoT playerbase, Evilly states that the peak was in January (over 1 mil online), then it dropped due to summer and issues with 9.0 and now the playerbase is returning
- third CW campaign will start soon (on RU), its reward will be Object 907, but it’s possible there will be a choice from three tanks (907, M60 and VK7201)
- developers are planning further development of CW and Stronghold mode
- for individual players, the next big thing will come in 9.5 – individual missions
- individual missions will be more complicated than current missions, they will also have more valuable prizes
- FV4202 change to premium will not come this year, but in first quarter of 2015
- FV215b will be replaced by “Chieftain prototype” (SS: as far as I know, this is wrong – Mk.II is the right answer)
- FV4202 will not be given out for free automatically, there will be a mission for current tier 10 FV4202 owners, when you complete it, you can get the premium one
- German Panther 88 will come at the end of this year, it will be followed by Soviet tier 8 premium medium tank (SS: T-54 Model 1945) and Japanese tier 8 premium medium tank (SS: STA-2B)
- no plans to make a movie about Wargaming for now
- roaming is already functional (developers are sometimes playing on EU or US server), there are no plans to introduce it for now however, developers want to first find out how to monetize it etc.
- Evilly confirms that Russian players are better than Europeans or Americans
- developers are monitoring other games (AW, WT)
- the project World of Warships will “finish the trilogy”

10k xp ain’t that bad. what would be terrible is an IS-6 Christmas style mission.
IS-6 mission was much easier. The XP counted premium, daily bonuses, and gave no silly time restricion.
There were soem specials with X3 (or was it even X5?), tat you could use to speedgrind through.
10k base XP/day is shit, comparing to that. Ofc, YMMV.
And it’s better to spent that time earning real $$.

I would welcome this possibility to choose the tank. I don’t want Obj. but I would welcome M60 because it is the only US X tier I miss atm.

No he would not be as there is a reason they run faster. Generally their lower legs are longer then eurasians’ lower legs giving them an advantage. He just has to remember saying that as well :)

I would strongly disagree with that. There are so many more players (and therefore so many more bad players) on Russian server that the good players, purples and blues, mostly only fight reds, oranges, and some yellows here and there. Whereas on the US server there are much less players and therefore you see the good players more often. It’s weird playing a high tier game in US without seeing several blues and pruples in the game. I would say that since the good US players have to play against other good players the majority of the time that they are better than the Russian players who mostly play against the lower class of players. The only way Russian players are better than EU and US is because there are more of them but there are more overall people that play on the Russian servers so that argument is invalid
Yeah, but there’s so many more players. It’s generally the case, that if your talent pool is much bigger in the first place, the top-tier talent is going to be better also.
Same thing with starcraft, korea vs euorpe. Koreans have way more players, and their top players are an order of magnitude better than the european pros. Because the cream-of-the-cream is so good, the random B-teamers have to be better also, and the masters players, and so on. It actually goes down like that all the way to the metal leagues.
In order to stay in silver league, a korean player would have to do well against other korean players; which is more difficult than doing the same against a NA or EU playerbase. Consequently, to maintain the exact same win rate, they have to (and do) play much better.

How are players on RU servers better than EU or NA? If they have more serious ESL-teams then the quantity of players overall must be taken into consideration. Are there better tutorials for RU players? Or is this just a patriotic yell towards the biggest playerbase of WoT? Or maybe Evilly just prefers the general playstyle on RU server, many Russian tanks and yolo mentality, so he considers it better. Either way, I haven’t seen any charts to support this claim and don’t even know how could it even be measured.
Bigger numbers of players generates better top players if you consider only top players.
He’s obviously not talking about general player base (which can’t really be described in terms of skill, because it varies hugely), but about top players, who will obviously be better in Russia.

You are probably wrong. I play on both clusters and my EU winrate is significantly higher than the RU one (while WN8s are not that different) with the same tanks.
Maybe it’s difference in playstyles (EU players are more prone to waiting and camping) but the fact is that it’s easier to play on the EU cluster.

I was thinking the same thing… It’s probably going to be like kill 25 of each nation tank in the new british medium (Action X) each day 25/31 days.

Sounds like T-54 mod. 45 and STA-2B will come in a later patch than Panther 88, so we won’t see them before 2015, I guess.

One that has several premium tanks(or simply many regular ones) but moved to another continent and can’t play comfortably because of ping…
Why not just make the roaming only for permium account.
They already took the 3 man platoon exclusive from the premium so why not giving this as replace.

Well, not having played WOT now for a good few weeks after quitting in despair after 2 years of no real improvement, I watched bits of that interview of that Dead Eyed personality void dipstick from WG and to even discuss/mention that Russian Players are better than Eu or US players is a joke and in itself just shows that in Eu and US most of us play for fun and casually but clearly the Russian players are totally obsessed with the game, how could you be ? It is so flawed and dependant on RNG that any games player that has a brain and skills would not play for long anyway. Also, typical of Russians with their historical chips on their shoulders feeling that they even have to compete with the west on being good at playing games (that they rigged themselves).
Games should be like sport, a way of bringing people togther that have similar interests not of creating divisions!
Glad I quit WOT, I shan’t ever play it again nor any other WG game, my interest in the games has finally gone. Shame, it had potential.
You totally missed the point and are mostly shaming the gaming… while some issues you mention are true (historical bias in Russia), you are skewing the image so much.

I’m sensing major no-lifer mission is on the way. I’m on my way to Cent 7/1 and I could easily get to FV till the end of January and tbh FV grind is the only reason I even play this game anymore but if they make some life suicide mission for it I won’t do it, doesn’t matter if I have it in garage and I’ve wasted last 5 months getting it. I’ve stopped playing this game for a year with ease once before, I can stop playing it forever…

They say that 7/1 is even better so I will finish it, no matter what will happen to FV, but if they make some idiotic mission, that’s it… I can live if they DON’T give it for free at all and I can live if they DO give it for free, but some stupid mission, no thanks…
