E-25 To Be Possibly Removed From Shop…

Hello everyone,

following news appeared on several Russian portals. Apparently, it’s possible that (on RU server, but I do believe such a thing concerns other servers as well), the E-25 tier 7 premium tank destroyer will be removed from the regular sale in the shop (the way Type 59 was).

Now, I reached out to my own sources and I learned that while this info specifically cannot be confirmed, it is true that lead producers and developers wanted to “do something” about the E-25, so it’s possible this piece of news is true, but far from certain.

  1. Wouldn’t mind owning something semi-rare like my KV5. Then again I can’t play it for shit even as a purple recent so I’d probably sell it for full price refund if they gave that option.

    • I fail to see how one player couldn’t do good in the E-25, it would be stupid as hell to sell it as long as it isn’t nerfed, even if you would get full price refund.

      • depends whats good to you, most decent people average 1.3-1.5k dpg and that isn’t good enough.

        of course some play it properly averaging 2k dpg.

        • I got 2338 average in it after 400+ games. So it’s a beast, though I won’t play it again as long as they keep nerfing maps. You barely have maps where you can use that camo anymore.. :(

          I started playing it in 9.0 when they had started nerfing maps, if I’d have started with normal maps I would have had 200 more avrg dmg :).

          • absolutely agree. they are nerfing maps for snipers instead of nerfing that tanks. and introducing more city maps in new patches. now only 3 or 4 maps are suitable for e25. it’s great DPM and great camo are the only strong sides of that tank. and it cannot use them in city maps or in corridors which are WG’s favourite things these days. it has weak penetration (cannot pen. even tier 7 tanks easily, cannot flank tanks due to lack of turret and cannot engage moving tanks due to narrow gun angle. so it’s not OP as hell.

      • All they have to do is give it, and all prem tds, the same camo nerf that they gave regular tds where they lose their camo bonus when they fire through bushes.. The E-25 is specifically op with this as its tiny and has a great camo rating where other prem tds like the su100y this isnt such a big deal as its fucking huge and has a terrible camo rating. I don’t know how many times I’ve been pounded and killed by an E25 just to have him pop up 150m> away moving to another bush.

        • Agreed. Altough, it would kill my Dicker Max, with its bad mobility, 0 armor and muzzle brake on 105 mm gun (which IIRC makes you loose more camo after shot, than gun without this thing).

    • It has outstanding DPM and low profile, great camo values…
      IMO its a bit OP because it has a punchy gun, it is sneaky and fast…

      • i think its OP in one situation (sniping at targets with bad armor) and totaly useless in another (city combat against heavies), and that makes it perfectly balanced in my opinion… not sure what is WGs problem…

      • well su122/44 has higher dpm, it is a brawler – better armor, more penetration, big alpha. But not limited MM

        only advantage for E25 is limited MM, and better mobility.

        f2f e25 cant destroy su122/44 from hull HP

      Which crew skills and perks do you have on it?
      And which equipment?

      • gun rammer, vents, toolbox(cuz i have so many) some say get a spall liner but i haven’t been hit by arty much in it otherwise id say optics or gun laying drive hes to big to get good use out of camo.

        and the standard perks that everyone uses

        six sense
        dead eye
        clutch breaking
        situational awareness
        Adrenalin rush
        safe stowage

        ill most likely do brothers in arms as 2nd skill then either camo or recon, off road etc skills or do those then bia

        @golem jadgtiger 8.8 is prem td and 1 tier higher than the E-25 i don’t need another prem german td

        • Yea, Spall Liner and Toolbox… o_O

          Put a f**ing Camo Net, Rammer and Binocs on that thing, get a full Camo Crew in there and it will turn into a invisible super-mobile Scout/Sniper, which can pull so many miracles in this game, that no other tank can.
          I have had some epic games in it, and I totally understand, why they would want to pull the E-25 off the shop.
          But just remember to have a healthy stock of APCR on that thing, as sniping all those IS-3′s and Tiger II’s is not like taking a candy from a child ;)

          • He’s talking about JT88, on which I’d say Spall Liner or Toolbox are acceptable choices since it’s huge and slow.

            • Ooh, ok then. But anyway on JT88 you put all the sweet equipment on it, which maximizes your already good Rate of Fire, which will come in handy more times that a Spall Liner, that could save you 100HP of a splashing arty every 10th game.

              • For JagdTiger8.8cm, I go for Rammer, Binos, and Cammo net. Long distance sniper with high rate of fire. Dumb Soviet heavies don’t see you until its too late. I use a four skill/perk crew training fifth, all have cammo, BIA, then recon, siuational awarness, etc. I use my JagdPanzer IV crew in it, plus a guy from the JagdPanther, and use the same crew in the E-25.
                I remember all the whines about the terrible gun the E-25 has, but they all know about how “terrible” it is when shot after shot goes into their sides. I bet it is a good seller in the shop too. But no doubt the Russians don’t like a good German vehicle?

    • I believe that reason is that playing 100 battles in it is not boring. WG dont need tanks that can one can play forever, have fun and earn lot of money. There is no reason to grind better tanks then.
      I dont believe it is OP, it’s just annoying as hell. I think T25AT is better and underestimated and SU-122-54 too (but I never played it). Problem of T25AT is so expensive ammo that it doesnt make money without premium account (same problem as T29)

      • 122 54 is not a premium ,that is a Tier IX TD
        the 122 44 is a premium and its at the same lvl as E-25 ,i prefer 122 44 .

        Honestly i don’t have even 100 battles in the E-25

        I still have Bishop in my collection , i like this one :)

        • Are you mad!? Over 500 battles played on the FV304 and crew almost done on 2nd perk by now. It’s one of the most fun vehicles I’ve got in my garage, despite the recent nerf.

        I’m a pretty average player but the roach can give troll like capabilities on occasion…took me a long time to work it out but a hell of a lot of fun to operate.

      please, at tier 7 it’s more of a joke especially with WG converting all maps to brawling maps. Plus, the average player sucks in this tank. Are unicums good it it? Well, yea, but unicums are good in just about everything. To me, this tank is like the TOG, i love to see both on the enemy team rather than on my team. I will take an SU12244 over an E25 any day or just play a Hellcat?

        • please don’t speak about things you have no clue on, do you know what your average dpg must be to be unicum using strictly the e25? no? well then don’t call it a padding machine.

          I have it and I fail to get more than 1.3k dpg in it, i don’t have the playstyle for it of course but i’m still above the average player at this game. I don’t even like the tank, I really like the SU-122-44 tho and I really wish I did buy it instead.

        Because E 25s are along with the SU 122 44, the paradigms of OP prems.
        Nothing on T7 cna match these two. The SU 44 makes fun of the SU 152 and the E25 is a cockroach from hell.

        • Truth. 150pen is not bad for T7, where many mediums (that are MUCH slower than the E-25) have less than that and fight T9s. They also don’t have the camo, the RoF, did I mention the mobility? and the awesome DPM of 2700+.
          The only thing slightly in line with the E-25 is the SU-122-44, which is just totally OP when top tank.
          2900DPM. Very agile, compared to anything else on T7 (except Scouts and E-25), nice bouncy armor thanks to the good angle, good camo. The only downside of it is the gun depression and the low penetration of the gold ammo.

      • The ROF and Camo this tank has is just so incredible… i have seen so many games, even T8, that got carried by such a sneaky E-25, it’s not even fun anymore. and in every T7-8 game there are at least 2 of those, per side…

        this thing is basically an ELC with MUCH better camo, more than DOUBLE its HP, more than DOUBLE its DPM and yet they have the same max. Matchmaking. the literally only advantage ELC has is that it gets into Tier6 games.(ELC: 6,7,8 – E-25: 7,8)

        anyone that doesn’t see the imbaness of E-25 must be really blind.

        • Or perhaps you don’t see how hard it is to play that E-25.

          If MM gives you a map like Ensk or Ruinberg, good luck with that paper armor and absence of a turret – those maps hardly give any good spot with a brush to hide in. End result? You will have to rely on view range (assuming you use a Binocs or Optics) which will turn useless the moment a tank gets close enough and sees you. Then that paper armor won’t save you from getting shot at a few seconds later.

          Good ROF? Haven’t you thought about the fact that firing more often in a match will get you spotted more easily?

          Not to mention T8 games give tanks that have armor that’s difficult to pen frontally with 150mm penetration. Even a T32′s hull becomes difficult to pen the moment it angles. Not to mention those IS-6′s…

          Have you thought about the fact that the ELC is a SCOUT tank, while the E-25 is a TD, explaining the matchmaking?

          The way I see it, the E-25 punishes dumb players who don’t get out of the line of fire the moment they get shot at with that 75mm gun.

          • sure, city maps like ensk make it harder (ruinberg still has some long streets where you can profit from camo+viewrange and an open field), but you can still use it to flank enemies like you would in an aggressive scout. But this goes for every TD or other tank that relies on camo instead of armor.

            firing more often may get you spotted easier, but if an E-25 hides behind a bush he has so much camo, that combined with camo skill + camonet the enemy can get ~150m close and will not see him while shooting.(Source: http://www.wotinfo.net/en/camo-calculator, tested e-25 vs T32)

            Sure, penning enemy T32 frontally will not be easy, but since e-25 can pretty much position himself anywhere, you can easily snipe enemies on the side of the tank or even flank them and shoot them in the back.

            Yes, ELC has scout matchmaking, but they still have the same playstyle and they have the same max MM rating and E-25 is better at everything. Just because ELC is Tier5 does not really change anything once you loaded into the game and they in fact DO meet each other.

  11. The E25 just shines in great players hands, it’s not that the tank is at all OP.
    How can you claim something with 150 pen at tier 7 is OP?
    It has no armor at all, all it has is speed and low profile, it may as well be a light tank without a turret.
    It is just a good tank.

    • I would not even call it good, but you are correct. It can be OP in a unicums hands, but aren’t most tanks OP when played by a unicum. When I look up and see TOG’s and E25′s I hope they are on the enemy team because in my experience it is rare for either of these tanks to contribute much to the team. I have been in many games where the E25′s are dead in under a minute and you just lost a tier SEVEN tank and in a tier SEVEN game that is a big blow to your chances to win.

      • Is OP in my hands and I am not a unicum. You can play it like bush TD or like a scout – its only on you and sky is the limit (or ammo capacity) ;-)

      • Spamming premium ammo is a player problem, not a E25 problem, and I would also say it’s impossible to stat pad at tier 7.

    • WG makes a lot of money from the RU and RU players, more than in other countries, I think, like to play RU tanks so it is good business for WG to make sure there are quite a few OP RU tanks or at least very good RU tanks.

      Besides, the IS7 is certainly NOT OP. Aside from the T57 and Waffle and then the poor Fatton, most tier 10 tanks are fairly well balanced. They can’t all be good!

      • Not OP ? Are we even talking about the same tank ? With it’s impenetrable Turret , and pike nose ? As well as troll side and rear armor ? Pls… I admit the gun isn’t fantastic, but it’s mobile, and fast for a heavy ( especially T10 ).

  14. Already have mine, so I don’t care if they take it off sale. Less to worry about then! Although there are a LOT of them around…probably because its the bastard child of an ELC and a StuG :p

  15. It is this manner of practice of repeatedly launching overpowered tanks as premiums – and against all predicitons of them going to be be unbalanced – only to have them forced from the shops and later nerfed as a consquence, that I stopped purchasing gold or premium tanks long time ago.

    These premiums are fun while it lasts and then you can, more or less, throw them into the trash – at the expense of your wallet’s content.

  21. E-25 would not be OP if it had been hit by the camo Nerf other after shooting TD’s got.
    They will not nerf the tank a s to many people would ask for refunds.

    Personally i believe if they nerf a tank they should offer a refund. If they Nerf a class it should effect all tanks.

  25. I like my e25 its a great tank to have fun in i wouldn’t relly call it op though. my su12244 it seems much more OP esp when its is top tier.

  31. I own one and agree it’s probably too good as a premium tank (not OP, just too good as a premium). I wouldn’t blame them for removing it from the shop, on a selfish note I already have one, also there are plenty of German premium TDs.

I love my E-25 my clan calls them “doom Weasels” i also considered them a flattened hetzer on steroids as well with equipment i have on mine gun rammer binoc’s camo net … ( going to change the binoc’s to coated optics once i have enough creds to do so ) i am working on my 2nd set of skills right now on it …. i have annoyed people with mine alot … its speed you can chase down a light tank on the run while firing which is fun

  33. The russian balancers over value mobility. The tank is crap even on an open map. With the upcoming changes to view range and TD camo, they would have to change it. SInce it is premium, they don’t want to nerf it. Solution is to remove it from the shop. That is what they did with the French arty, KV-5, and Type-59.

    I find it interesting that the 122-44 which is the most OP premmie gets nothing done to it.

    First of all, why did they have to say that they were considering removing the one of the two that I DON’T have, and secondly, the SU-122-44 is as OP, if not MORE OP than the E-25.
