Not much today. The test server was already disabled and next iteration (this time with real vehicle values) will follow.

Also, Storm made a rather large topic, collecting the feedback on the Individual Missions. Or Personal how they are called today. Whatever. Basically, as far as I can tell, the two largest “issues” with them are:

- the fact they don’t activate automatically like achievements and you have to manually select them
- the presence of platoons in requirements

Unfortunately, Storm did not provide any answer as to whether WG will do anything with them based on the feedback or not. Okay, one more very important piece of news. Remember the “replay vulnerability” post? Well, Wargaming just acknowledged the issue by a special portal post. TLDR: replays can be modified to run malicious code.

According to the post, this issue will be fixed in 9.5. In case you want to know your replays are safe, download them only from wotreplays.ru/com/eu (based on your server). This WG site contains a check against this issue, so replays from it should be safe. And of course, not a peep on EU portal… after all, who cares about potential nasty exploits, right?

Also, interesting how this issue was on Reddit for days and this warning was only posted after the matter made it to FTR and Russian blogs…

  1. Hey SS, I just saw news on Facebook from PC Gamer..

Basically, if you add your email on their site, you can be chosen for one of the 1000 beta keys for World of Warships. I did it, so keeping my fingers crossed :)

  2. My only real complaint about the “personal missions” is the requirement to complete them in order. I don’t mean skipping around on reward tanks, I mean in order for each tank. For instance, if I am attempting to complete medium tank mission 1 and I don’t manage it, but I complete mission 3 in the process, I can’t get credit for completing 3 because I haven’t yet completed 1 and 2. I’d prefer that all 15 missions for each vehicle class unlock at the same time, and could therefore be completed in any order.

    • Would be too easy tho, I only read the light tank ones for stug but you can complete like 10 of them in one game.

I think the idea is also for them to serve as an extended tutorial to make players do certain actions which help their team in general without going into yolo/suiscout mode ( hence the “and survive” secondary objective )

Having to do them in order allow them to grasp the concepts easier imo

      • That might be true for the first missions, but imagine having a game that would complete mission 15 of the heavy tank-Object 260 chain (which, IIRC, is something like 18k damage done/blocked by armor), but not getting credit because you hadn’t completed mission 14 yet. How long would it be before getting another game that completes 15? For most of us, it might be quite a while.

I understand it isn’t supposed to be easy, and I’m fine with that, but completing a leg of the mission should count no matter when it is completed, provided one is actually working on that 15 mission chain. If anything, they could make a game that completes multiple missions at once only count for one of them, and let the player select which mission to complete. I’d have no problem at all with 1 game=1 mission.

Even so, I’ll still go for them, I’m a sucker for reward tanks and I need some experienced crews.

    • My only real concern is “when will be these 4 vehicles available in shop ?”

No matter how hard or time consuming it is, it’s okay if its the only way how to get these tanks. Having one at least mean something….

Once you can buy them, they will completely lose value. Just like super ultra deluxe exclusive KV-220 … ;)

  3. In a week, they will come up with an answer to these issues:

    “A: Don’t play Individual Missions.”

      • Despite the fact being faster and better than IS-7.
Because you know – “IS-7 is too powerful, lets bring in even better one”.

        • well I understand him. I hate soviet tanks. Stopped at KV-1S. Couldnt play that shit anymore… 3 seconds aim time, >0.45 accuracy .. wtf ? thats same as dead gunner and damaged gun in german tanks. I dont care how good that tank is considered to be, its just frustrating to shoot something thats not facehugging you.

          • What shit you mean? KV-1S the king of T6 companies/CW or the uber-derp T5? I think it was overpowered when it was a T6 and it is still owerpowered in T5. First game in the T5 KV-1S 7 kills… way to easy to get kills, way too easy…

Back to your argument, these tanks were not meant to snipe from a bush, but to be the leading tanks in the push for #pixeltonkglory.

  4. Do you think the 2nd test will start today, or will we have to wait until tomorrow?

  5. It is not the first time that I’ve seen some breaking news in r/worldoftanks instead of For the Record.

I have no right to ask for this, but could you spend a little bit more time on Reddit?

    • Well… to be quite honest, if it’s really important and relevant, usually someone points me to it, I check several times but most of the threads are of… dunno, irrelevant nature to me.

      • Ectar was aware of the post within a few hours of its posting and let WG know, as much as he could. Or, so he said. WG’s response is appropriate, I think, but not the timeliness.

    • Because “INVDIVIDUAL” missions are so “PERSONAL” – you need another two persons to invite individually to complete them….

  6. They were individual missions, therefore everyone got the same missions.
They became personal missions, therefore you have to play with other people to complete them.
You don’t have to play arty to receive the reward, but you have to play with arty in a platoon.

WG with its employees is truly astonishing company.

  7. Individual missions – better name than personal missions, because reasons?
Watching Silentstronker struggling with semantics is like watching a dog playing the piano – it is funny, you can see the dog is really trying, but at the end he is just pressing random keys.

    • Then i shall call upon the eloquence of Serb: “Don’t like FTR? Don’t read it” Simple as that, no need to get PERSONAL about it dear. Then again, if you still don’t like it, try setting up your own blog, maybe you’ll do better than SS or Dom1n(Nope, couldn’t keep a straight face)

  8. My main concern with these individual missions is if you look the CT, i clearly remember them saying that the stug missions would be easy… then why is the a mission where u have to be a light tank in a plat with arty and the arty has to do 1000 dmg??? most of these missions should belong on the t28 concept not the stug 4. i really don’t think it’s worth doing all this just for a tier 5 tank which isn’t even that good…

  9. I’m surprised that unhealthy requirements that force you to chase them and play stupidly/gimmicky rather than playing to win weren’t the main issue.

I know forced platooning sucks, but that’s just 1 mission per chain. I think the fact that we have like 4-5 unhealthy missions per chain is worse.
