Region Changer Mod for 0.9.5

Source: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/410089-095-world-of-tanks-region-changer/

Hello everyone,

here’s a neat little thing by Dimabal100000. It allows you to change servers without having to reinstall the client (or rather install a separate one). Please note that this is NOT roaming (obviously), your account doesn’t get transferred, it only allows you to access other server clusters without installing another WoT client.

ak10kHO

It’s simple to use – you run it, you select the location of your WoT folder and the server you want to play on (you still have to create an account on that respective server if you don’t have one).

The mod (or rather, the application) can be downloaded here.

Should you have any questions, refer them to Dimabal in his thread.

  1. Whoever made that mod is a complete fcker.

Is he trying to stir up a racial fire? Asian WoT is based on Singapore and should at least be properly represented by the Singaporean flag. Those Chinese communists should be given their own region access and flag on the mod. China doesn’t represent Asia.

      • Aye m8, glorius china FTW.
        Chinese communism is best communism,
        Stuntin’ on those human rights
More Chinks than yuropoors ‘n’ fat murricans, china important nao
Keep communism , do capitalism, fuck bitches, get profits.
Ur panties r made in china, U mad world ?

    • Generally I am not much pissy about such stuff but in this case I can’t help but agree that the flag does feel out of place. Especially since Chinese server is separate and has nothing to do with WG managed servers. On the other hand I realize there are too many countries that play in the Asia server so singling out one single country’s flag wouldn’t actually solve the issue either but honestly, why is there a need for flag in the first place? Do players have such low IQ that they can’t figure out what server is where unless they see a flag especially since there are only a handful of them?

Either way as far as mod goes it’s quite nice. Though people would rarely run multiple accounts but I believe this is quite the hard drive space saver. Kudos.

    • Agree, its ASIA, not CHINA server.
Asia server players are predominantly South-Easterner, Aussie and Japanese. And most of them will object very heavily to be lumped with Chinese Mainland.

Should be either Singaporean flag (since WG Asia headquartered on SG) or no flag at all. Heck, on official WG source WG Asia mostly represented by Singapore flag anyway.

    • China will grow larger !!!!!11111!!!!!!
But seriously I do think that Chinese flag is not correct in this situation as well, maybe the guy didn’t know that Asian server is in Singapore.

(btw Hong Kong people, not mainland Chinese)

      • Hong Kong FTW! BTW, we are technically still Chinese…but this guy has a good point, maybe the maker didn’t know what each server is in, so he just put the main country on it.(not sure about European Union)

    • facts pointed:
true Chinese flag does not represent Asia. there is no flag to represent all Asians
how ever neither does EU flag represents Europe, not all European countries are in European Union!
and U.S.A flag does not represent North America! you are forgetting countries like Canada, Mexico and a few more tinny countries that are part of North America!

The only correct flag is in fact Russia!

      • Yeah I resent the use of the EU flag – I’m British not European.

God or geology wouldn’t have put the English Channel between us and those perpetually warring tribes.

      • This is more about where the servers are placed NA servers are in US, Europe servers are in EU (Germany, Netherlands) RU servers are mostly in Russia, but there is no ASIA server in China. There is just one and that is in Singapore.

    • He’s probably going to get hacked soon.
Or maybe nobody gives a shit and ignores it :O

    • HE’s right! NORTH ‘MURICA ISNT JUST THE USA, THEY HAVE CANADIANS AND MEXICANS.

    • Everybody take a chill pill! So much butthurt, I think you will need a little buttaid -.-

I updated the program to v2.2 – fixed the flag, got Asian server to work, and fixed a minor bug.

The download link is on the thread.

    • The author is in [RUSS], so he obviously doesn’t give a fuck about asia or china. He’s more concerned with actually making a mod that helps people.

    • Well, you have to think the other way, THERE IS NO FLAG THAT REPRESENTS ASIA AS A WHOLE, It would be stupid to include only one country as flame wars starts whatever the country is, so the author has practically NO CHOICES but to pick the biggest country in Asia.

  2. I dont think its so simple, client for ASIA is different from lets say client for EU , atleast regarding language localisation pack.

    • Server is not concerned with client language.
Playing on ASIA with a german client should be no problem at all (technically) and this app seems to do just that.

      • Sure, try typing “みなさん、こんにちは” on EU server. You cannot.
Or ” jak się masz ” on ASIA server. You cannot.

All you would get is **** or bricks.

Clients are not the same copies 1/1. There is something called localisation pack.

        • I play on ASIA, “みなさん、こんにちは” or similar just comes out as “■■■■■■■■■■”. Maybe it relies on having those character sets / language packs installed in Windows, as well?

          • That could be it aswell.

Its that EU client doesnt have far east character set included.

  3. Thats a good mod – if it works.

I have accounts on the four main clusters, and currently have to update four clients in separate folders, and also run Aslain’s mod installer four times after each iteration!

How does it manage the Russian language pack on RU, vs English on the other three?

  4. Does that mean I can play with people in NA server and speak English and expect a response in English and not in some minor language?

Also how does this affect ping?

    • Ping should be as high as what you’d be getting if you open an account in NA.

From India, the ping is usually 80-120 ms for ASIA server and is as high as 260-310 for the NA server.

    • na server give me 30-50ms on east and 70-90ms on west. but since i prefer eu, my account is on eu server.
i get 110-130ms to both eu servers.

  5. Whoever made that; I am very thankful.

It will save a lot of disk-space and download time for anyone maintaining multiple accounts on various servers.

Thank you again!!! and God bless

    :)

  6. Oh dear… oh dear..

Damn westerners WILL always think that us ASIAN means people from China.

They never grew out from it, and they never will.

Worst thing is young westerners still think Malaysia is still a tribal people living on the trees… or worse… the whole ASEAN countries…

    • That’s not true at all. Westerners are very aware that there is more than one Asian country – however, most think that China is the most significant one, if you don’t count Russia.

It’s kind of funny that you accuse Westerners of generalizing Asia by generalizing all Westerners. Who’s the real bigot here?

  7. I doubt if the PRC flag should be used to represent Asia because the PRC region has its own server running by another company.

  8. This is awesome. I get about 85-110ms ping to the US East and I can finally play with some friends without having to keep two copies of everything.
