Crew: 4 (commander, gunner, driver, loader)

Driver – repair, clutch braking, smooth ride
Loader – repair, safe storage, intuition

Recommended equipment by WG: stabilizer, coated optics, rammer

Vehicle characteristics per Wargaming

- extremy high mobility (high speed and horsepower, mobility of a light tank) (SS: do NOT be fooled, this vehicle turns much slower than you’d expect and DEFINITELY not like a LT, definitely try to test it somewhere before you buy it)
- effective gun (90mm, accurate and rapid fire) (SS: note that this vehicle has full MM, the gun is thus much less effective than it is on FCM 50t, which has limited MM)
- high gun penetration (212mm) (SS: again, unlimited MM)
- low armor (or rather none, you have to be careful in battle)
- a lot of ammo carried (90 rounds suffice for 13 minutes of continued fire)
- comfortable depression (-10 degrees)

Tactical Role per Wargaming

- sniper (using the good depression and positioning yourself properly, WG notes however that this tank will attract attention of large caliber guns and HE shells due to its low armor)
- support on the battlefield (supporting your allies as they advance, taking cover behind tanks with more armor, but avoid fighting head to head, you won’t survive a direct fight due to your low armor)
- scouting (according to Wargaming, this vehicle has a decent camo factor and in worst case – if your scouts are dead – it can be used to scout as well)

Please be aware: the part about the camouflage factor is most likely wrong, as Storm wrote this vehicle has one of the worst camo factors amongst its peers (save for one tank). I can confirm that from the test, this tank is as big as a barn and will NOT hide easily. Support is your best option.

  1. According to gamemodels3d, terrain resistance got nerfed into the ground. I’m kinda mad about that.

Also, “repair” as a primary perk doesn’t match with the “avoid confrontations” thing. WG as usual.

    • Why would anyone choose this tank instead of FCM…almost identical tanks just one with pref mm…

      • because it’s a medium and fcm is a heavy, dummy.

no, they are not identical at all depending on how much WG nerfed the mobility. on TS, amx had much better gun depression and it’s way faster. fcm has better armor, but it’s flat so you dont bounce much anyway. the other difference is U personally are matched up against mediums, or you should be if MM worked properly, rather than heavies.

When you compare this tank to tier 8 mediums its certainly better than T44, probably better than 342 and compares favorably to STA. Panther II is probably better, but not buy much as again you don’t bounce much with Panther II. I hated the T69 unless you spam gold so for me it’s also better than T69 and it’s certainly better than Panther 88.

Is FCM better, for most players I bet their stats will be better with FCM but not by that much and again, this tank is a MEDIUM, so you can train Batchat crews in it. My 40T crew is only 2 skill so I’m gonna buy this tank to train up that crew so it’s at least 3 skill when I put them on the batchat and then start up a new crew for the new french medium tank that looks awesome.

  2. Even if it does have bad camo rating, im not so sure about taking repairs. If you get shot at, you’re gonna die. Getting your tracks up in 5 seconds probably wont change that.

    • It will help you GTFO, instead of sitting there taking hit after hit. Getting your tracks back up faster means escaping faster.

    • Trust me, you want to put full crew Repairs as one of the first two skills on every MT/HT/TD totally regardless of its armor value. Otherwise, I can easily permatrack your full HP tank with a f**ing SU-122-44 doing additional epic 390 damage in every of those tracking shots.
This tactic works like charm on many tanks against smartasses who think – “Repair skill is for n00bs!11!”

      • Repair skill on most mediums is for NOOBS.

I run a large repair kit, small repair kit and a automatic fire EXT on all medium tanks (I get these for free doing missions or if needed buy them for 1/2 price). The large repair kit is hot keyed to the space bar so if I take a crushing HE hit I just hit space bar to repair all modules and for 10K creds I’m moving.

I hot key small repair kit to 5 so I hit 55 and I am back on the way for only 2500. Even without repairs, if you get tracked by arty behind the lines ur tracks normally come up faster than arty reload.

A full camo crew on a medium tank can really help you stay hidden especially at the end of matches and with coated optics gives you a reall good vision advantage.

I need to start running prem consumables and then I can see where the repair skill will come in more handy but I will probably just drop the fire EXT and go naked. I don’t get set on fire that much on mediums.

  3. This tank really sucks.

It must snipe with 212 pen VS t10 with 0 camo value… AHAHAH bullshit!

They forgot to write: “If you want to do something with this tank, please, use gold ammo”

      • Seriously, do you really play wot.

We are talking about a TD, not a fucking med or scout…

        u_u

        • It’s a medium, not a TD. No, don’t give me the ‘in real life it was a TD’ crap. In real life the project was discontinued. In game it’s a medium.

        • I would ask you the same question…
since when is CDC categorised as TD in WoT?
and for that matter, Jagdtiger 88 has only 203mm pen, and CDC has higher pen than even some tier 8 heavies…

          • The mistake is easily made. “Chasseur de chars”, translated from French, means tank destroyer (hunter).

    • meet T32, Tier 8 non-premium heavy tank with 198mm average pen on a top gun…
or tell us what are you smoking, if it gives you idea that 212mm pen on Tier 8 premium medium tank is too low…

    • there is no better premium tank to flank enemy with, so 212 pen is (for good players) not problem at all… and 0 camo value? did you read this part?: “according to Wargaming, this vehicle has a decent camo factor”… so, would you kindly shut the f*ck up? ;-)

    • 212 pen seems insuffucient to you? Let me tell you a secret…

Standard AP shell avg. penetration values:
T32 (regular tier 8 heavy, normal MM) – 198 mm
T-54 (regular tier 9 med, normal MM) – 219/201 (most used top guns)
Panter II (regular tier 8 med, normal MM) – 203 mm
T-44 (regular tier 8 med, normal MM) – 175 mm
      etc.
      and
Amx CdCC (premium tier 8 med, normal MM) – 212 mm

what else to say – just L2P.

      • amx is very similar to fcm.

on TS, amx had much better gun depression and it’s way faster. fcm has better armor, but it’s flat so you dont bounce much anyway. the other difference is U personally are matched up against mediums, or you should be if MM worked properly, rather than heavies, just like in a scout ur matched up against scouts.

When you compare this tank to tier 8 mediums its certainly better than T44, probably better than 342. It compares favorably to STA and pershing but the both have better turrets for ocassional bounces but hulls are also paper and amx looks faster unless WG really nerfed mobility. Panther II is probably better, but not by much as again you don’t bounce much with Panther II. I hated the T69 unless you spam gold so for me it’s also better than T69 and it’s certainly better than Panther 88. Centurian is my fav tier 8 prem with the awesome turret, but it’s really slow.

Again, this is a premium so I think it is very well balanced.

Is FCM better, for most players I bet their stats will be better with FCM but not by that much and again, this tank is a MEDIUM, so you should be matched up against mediums. I hate playing FCM and being matched up against an IS6 or IS3 or being in a hull down battle against T32 but mainly U can train Batchat crews in it. My 40T crew is only 2 skill so I’m gonna buy this tank to train up that crew so it’s at least 3 skill with bia for faster reload when I put them on the batchat and then start up a new crew for the new french medium tank that looks awesome.

  4. “(SS: do NOT be fooled, this vehicle turns much slower than you’d expect and DEFINITELY not like a LT, definitely try to test it somewhere before you buy it)”

Well, it depends on the light tank – how about Valentine or AufklarungPanther? Or… AMX40! :>

      • I agree, awful panther has excellent mobility.

It’s one of my favorite tanks and I will miss it. I run a spaul liner and have around 50 Kamakazi’s in it and it’s so fun to ram scouts or even mediums. In one game I rammed two tier 10 tanks to death. The gun is underrated and the gold pen is very good and it has decent HP. I grinded out two tanks with this tank and it was very fun. I would rather play this tank than Panther II because UR matched up against a scout and it’s so much faster.

  5. So, no armour, huge size, poor camo, bad agility, average alpha/pen, good depression, and unlimited MM.

That’s £30 well spent on World of Corridors…

There’s a reason I never play the D-Max these days – because apart from alpha, it has the same issues as above.

    • Dmax has good camo and viewrange + awesome gundepression. Its a very good example of a balanced prem TD, unlike the JT 8.8 or the SU-100Y. Those are the real one trick ponys.

    • No point complaining anymore about preferential MM. WG stated already goodbye preferential MM tanks. It wont happen again for the sake of gameplay they said.

    • :-) GOOD CATCH
It seems they used the penetration instead of the alpha — 8*212
well, almost right, if you fire the first shell and then you have 1 min, you can only fire 7 more shells — the 0.22 does not count — so the total is 8*240 == 1920

  6. IDK if anyone really test this tank. For me it’s really great tank, fast and deadly. On test servers i was almost always in top 5 DMG (even in Tier 10 battles). But HE are problem (one shot by Tier 10 TD British tanks).

I am considering buying this tank when it will be on sale.

      • Oh man, this CDC will be utterly annihilated by the 183 (whether on the FV215b-183 or the FV4005). The CDC’s only hope is that the shot misses or maybe is eaten by the tracks. Otherwise, it’s au revior, adios, see ya later.

    • Yea, all the whiners should go and play at least 100 games in T-34-2 and T-44 in randoms. Then come back and whine about rocket powered tank with penetration, which is even higher by ~40mm.

      • T44, oh man, but it made me a good medium player. as I had to flank everything to pen it.
I don’t see why they complain about 217 pen really

        • Have you ACTUALLY tested it on the testserver? I know I have and there is NO TIER 8 MEDIUM that is more mobile than this. I really don’t know what some ppl expect here. This is a FANTASTIC machine for a friggin premium vehicle which is supposed to be _worse_ than other comparable vehicles of its tier. This is not, in no friggin way worse than almost all of them. It has among the highest pen, by far the best mobility and overall pretty damn awesome stats. The FCM 50t obv. comes closed but it is slower and for fucks sake a heavy tank.

  7. I try it on test server It somehow fits my playstyle… But STA-2 total fail.. Panther 8.8 unclear for now

  8. I think, the CDC is really not a bad tank. On the testserver it seemed very nice for a premium: Everything about it makes sense, exept the armor.
(And the thing about HE is: At the moment, noone uses it, because even against light tanks, the chance of hitting tracks or spaced armor ect. for minimal damage is just too high.)

The STA-2 with full MM and 185 pen on the other hand IS bad. :p
Or the 34-3 … thanks to that epically bad gunhandling, its bad even with reduced matchmaking.

Ok, the FCM is better (if you consider its reduced matchmaker) but that one wont train you french medium-crew….

    • U summed it up perfectly, but don’t forget crap T44.

Also, Pershing and STA-1 are not that much better than CDC as their hulls are also paper and you dont bounce that much with the better turrets.

    • U summed it up perfectly. It’s pretty well balanced.

It’s better than T44, I argue better than T69 and Pershing and STA-1 are not that much better than CDC as their hulls are also paper and you dont bounce that much with the better turrets.

  9. I like the STA 2 more. It’s alot smaller so better camo, more nimble, bit better armor against HE.

And alot of people will get carried away by CDC top speed and end up dead in the first minute. To me it seems STA with it’s limited speed will allow for better judgment and planning.

CDC is one big cardbox both looking and armor value speaking.

  10. so many whining much sense..i think this tank is going to be just fine people that now how to play paper armour are going to do well..i like good depresion and good mobility and that it meets tier x fuck it when u are in that kind of mm just work it best u now and when u are top tier i think it’s gona rekt enemies so all in all this is not a bad tank,,and it’s french medium so u are gona benefit in crew and credits but don’t buy if u don’t now how to play paper tanks u now no yolosolo ;)

  11. I suspect that one is going to have to be a very good player and good at avoiding being hit in the CDC, due to its near total lack of armor. I know that if I see one of these things and I’m in a tank with a reasonably quick reload, I’ll probably switch to HE to wreck the CDC.

  12. Bought it yesterday.
First battle: tier 8 battle, 5 kills, “Master”, 3 something thousand x2 exp.
It seems to be a good tank in tier 8 and 9 battles. MT/TD gameplay. Definitely not first line tank. You should never shoot twice from the same position.
