- SerB states that “everything, that could be done to make the training room battles easier for the players without risks to the game was already done. Everything else is financially risky and won’t be implemented” (SS: in other words – no free/cheaper shells/repairs in training rooms or anything else, topic closed)
- SerB on Japanese tanks heavy branch (about where it will start from): “It’s a mess. Tier 3 heavy exists. Tier 6 and higher do exist also. But there’s a gaping hole on tier 4 and 5. So the heavy branch is not considered as done and won’t be released for now.”

- Soviet medium branch: T6 – A-43, T7 – A-44, T8 – 416, T9 – unknown, T10 – Object 430 (SS: it has been confirmed by SerB that Object 140 will NOT be a tier 9 vehicle. Other candidates? Hmmmm… hard to say, will have a look actually, there are possibilities)
- second British medium line with Vijayanta s tier 9? “No comment for now”
- 120mm gun on British meds? “At this moment, no”
- the length of HEAT shell jet stream depends on the caliber of the shell
- currently, WG people are scouring the Kharkov Malyschev archives to find an answer to one concrete question, possibly regarding Objects 416 and 430
- “outlandish” maps such as moon surface are not planned
- Q: “What’s the problem with introducing the Firefly?” A: “The fact we say ‘no comment’ doesn’t mean there is a problem”
- developers are not allowed to accept gifts from players
- Pearl River, Sacred Valley and Severogorsk maps not being fun to play? “How terrible x3″
- maps are tested internally (usíng automated tools), then on supertest and then on open test
- it’s possible the T-55 hull will be an optional hull for the T-54, but they didn’t differ much (SS: they were practically identical with the late T-54 model hulls)
- apparently, more improved modules/equipment for guns (like “improved muzzle brake”) are not planned
- HESH shells will possibly get a new simple, yet realistic mechanism (“when it’s done it’s done”)
- the split shells (separated into the shell and the charge) are modelled within the game by the fact that the guns that use them have lower rate of fire
- the biggest non-mortar caliber for a tank the developers encountered in the archives was 380mm
- T-55 Mod.1960 is too weak to be implemented as tier 10
- Japanese tank destroyer branch also faces problems (like the heavies), but there’s a chance to make it
- for now there are no suitable tier 10 light tank candidates (SerB states that they look at a lot of designs already, so no need to propose any), but if any are found, they might be implemented
- apparently, splash damage does count into the potential damage recieved
- there are no candidates for French medium premium tanks – what tanks there are will be apparently used for the AMX-30 branch to fill the holes in it
- the T-54 shells that were forcibly sold from the depot in 8.7 were apparently sold because they were scheduled to be sold in 8.6, but someone forgot
- weather effects are planned, they implementation depends on how much they will stress the game engine
- (additional) 45mm gun for KV-5 is not planned
- according to SerB, teaching materials (Youtube videos for example) on various tanks have (only a) little impact on the statistical performance of these vehicles
- starting branches of the Japanese tree will not contain the heavies
- Object 140 won’t be tier 9, because it’s an Omsk vehicle and SerB states that if they put this tank in a Kharkov branch, they’d probably shoot each other on the respawn point even without the players (SS: there was a rivalry between Omsk and Kharkov teams)
- tier 9 Soviet medium will be some rear-turret Object 430 design variant, that was rejected
- smokescreen generator/grenades? Same as weather: depends on the stress it puts on the client, “when it’s done it’s done”
- SerB doesn’t like playing on TD’s apparently
- second British TD branch – “when it’s done it’s done”, FV4005 has a chance of appearing in it
- SerB states he doesn’t remember whether the Lowe chassis was used for any TD/SPG designs, he says one was possibly the Bär (SS: AFAIK, no – it was a modified Tiger suspension)
- it’s possible that China will recieve a midtier premium light tank (SS: Type 64 was mentioned – a Taiwanese Duster hull with a Hellcat turret)
- SerB states that he doesn’t know, whether the rise of the KV-5 winrate on RU server was tied to the publication of one certain play guide on RU forums

  1. Pretty good chunk of great information here. Shame about the Japanese heavies.

  2. - tier 9 Soviet medium will be some rear-turret Object 430 design variant, that was rejected

Bye bye 2nd branch. Don’t like rear turreted tanks and not going to touch this for a long time.

  3.
- SerB states that he doesn’t know, whether the rise of the KV-5 winrate on RU server was tied to the publication of one certain play guide on RU forums
Could you please give us a link to that KV5 play guide ?

  4. So there is a chance to implement a 3rd russian medium line? With Object 140 as tier 9.
A Omsk med line (if this thing exists….)

    • According to wiki obj 140 was designed by engineer Kartsev (design bureau of Uralvagonzavod factory – part of Ural Tank Factory No. 183 (Kharkov). So no obj. 140 in Omsk branch

        • Yes, I think so. I proposed the Object 140 for the branch too, I’d have noticed if the Omsk office was involved there somewhere I think.

        • Yep. And BTW here were no major rivalry between kharkov and omsk. But was between kharkov and tagil. Even today people in runet participate in special olympics on theme of what tanks are better – kharkov’s t-64 or tagil’s t-72 and who was better designer

  5. - there are no candidates for French medium premium tanks – what tanks there are will be apparently used for the AMX-30 branch to fill the holes in it

France used Sherman and Panther tanks, yet neither are suitable as a medium premium?

    • There was a great idea somewhere on the forums to make Lorraine a T8 premium, put AMX-13 105 on its place and change Bat Chat into a T10 light…

    • Further development of the French tree is on the bottom of their priority list. And don’t bother to search for logic in WG’s actions or statements.

  6. - it’s possible the T-55 hull will be an optional hull for the T-54, but they didn’t differ much (SS: they were practically identical with the late T-54 model hulls)

That would actually be a nerf. In-game T-54 is using an early hull with 120mm armour on the front. Late hulls and T-55 hull have 100mm there. Late hulls are used by in-game Type 59 and WZ-120.

Also, what happened with T-44 with 122mm gun that was planned to be a part of new branch? Did it become a premium?

    • It’s a good thing that it’s not in the new branch. We don’t need two T-44′s on different tiers in different branches if there’s A-44 to be added :P

    • Well, how about making older T-54 hull as better armored and heavier/slower etc alternative to T-55 one? After all Sherman Jumbo “top” turret is hardly considered improvement. Giving reload boost for T-55 chassis (better ammorack layout etc) or vice versa – T-54 reload nerf compared to T-55 hull.

And T-55 turret (without undercut in the rear) also could be introduced. No idea on what boosts it might give though.

    • I believe one of the supertesters mentioned that it is now a Tier 7 premium medium.

  7. >> – for now there are no suitable tier 10 light tank candidates (SerB states that they look at a lot of designs already, so no need to propose any), but if any are found, they might be implemented

Thats because the whole idea is crippled. Light tanks have no purpose neither in real life nor in the game. MBT does everything…
It should stop at tier 6 as it had been, othewise we get rocket-propelled tanks with across the map infrared+xrays view – which we of course won’t so it’s no purpose even making models and wasting time…

You can consider Leo1 kind of light as it has no armor :) , but of course no scout bonus for it :( . Otherwise you can add lots of tracked IFVs but again, no purpose – they have no edge, just hp and xp pinatas, no infantry ingame to support and to fight against… Still, they ARE “suitable candidates”, they are suitably useless after all.

    • I’d say light tanks are VERY important ingame, the tier 7 and 8 lights have huge impacts on t10 games if used properly.
Sure, a fast medium can do the same job but they don’t do it was well and (according to me) they should focus more on the damage dealing.

Having dedicated scouts frees up fast combat tanks to deall damage and support directly in the battle, after all, you would be pretty pissed if a Batchat sat in a bush lighting instead of unleashing hell on the enemy directly.

    • Several real-world militaries would seem to disagree with you over that “no purpose” bit, Anon – not to mention that modern IFVs tend to be well enough armed and armoured to amount to de facto light tanks with infantry-transport capability.

  8. No Jap heavies on launch? Aaaaah, shame, i wanted to try the O-I variants.
I think they will introduce Med and Arty lines first then.

  9. “- Q: “What’s the problem with introducing the Firefly?”
A: “The fact we say ‘no comment’ doesn’t mean there is a problem”

Funny thing is, WG have had the firefly modelled for going on two years now. Along with a number of other British tanks that haven’t appeared.

    • Forget about the Firefly. Won’t be surprised if it doesn’t even come next year.

  10. Japan heavy branch gaping hole on tier 4 and 5

SerB said Tier6 japanese heavy's will be Iwakuro 100ton tank?

Iwakuro 100ton tank is addon armour.
Iwakuro 100ton tank is "non addon armour version" put on Tier5 heavy.
Tier4 heavy ? OP version Type 95 heavy tank

    simple problem

    • Or just start heavy line on T6. Chinese heavy line starts at T7 so there should be no problem with that.

  11. - SerB doesn’t like playing on TD’s apparently

First step to nerfing them, since there is more and more whine topics all around about OP TDs

  12. - Object 140 won’t be tier 9, because it’s an Omsk vehicle and SerB states that if they put this tank in a Kharkov branch, they’d probably shoot each other on the respawn point even without the players (SS: there was a rivalry between Omsk and Kharkov teams)

SerB being funny again… Even if his info is a bit off.

    • Err. Here are actually major rivalry even today between kharkov and tagil factories, between Morozov shool of tank building in Kharkov and Kartzev shool of tank bulding in Tagil. Even today people in runet participate in special olympics on theme of what tanks are better – kharkov’s t-64 and its derivatives or tagil’s t-72 and its derivatives, and who was better designer Morozov or Kartzev. SerB just mistook Omsk with Tagil.

  13. There are rumors about japanese 100 ton tank Mi-To. Is it real, can someone get some info about this ?
