So, this is how the menu interface will look. You will be able to select the type of battle from the new menu (bonus: new vehicles uncovered – Lorraine G1L, captured Panther and captured Panzer IV – and the Brummbär:

After you select 7/42, you will be able to select whether you want to build a team (on the right), or whether you want to look for a team (on the left)

After that, if you select “look for team”, you’ll enter a queue.

Well, this is just illustration. In a day or two, you’ll be able to check it out by yourself. The whole UI seems pretty easy to use, I think the players will like it.

      btw it’s not that hard to find info on G1 project by using google, we already have a G1B in game, the BDR’s proposal.

      • I’m well aware of google thank you. I wasn’t referring to just the history of the vehicle but game related information not necessarily findable via google.

        • “Carousel” piccy suggests the same turret and hence presumably armament as the G1 B, which wouldn’t be too surprising as at the time the French mostly worked on the paradigm of designing the things separately and to fit into several different hull designs. Mind you ofc Renault just had to up and go all unorthodox and special in *their* proposal…

    • Tier 7 actually.

      But it’s reinforced with sovietium OPtium…that’s why it’s placed on such a high tier.

    • the sad thing is, we was waiting for that vehicle and they bring it for the russians….

      its the best version of the panzer 4 and they make it russian…

      and they say no russian bias…

        • Well the Pv IV S’s side skirts are mesh-like, where as the new tank appears to sport actual metal plate side skirts…..and given it’s russian…they’ll probably actually work xD

          • Although it will probably prove useless against tank shells anyway. Didn’t Germans just demount them anyway when they received Pz. IVs with the skirts because it was just dead weight against anything bigger than Russian AT rifles?

            • Eh, they were also helpful against the bazookas and spigot mortars of the Democracies’ infantry. Tended to get torn off by obstacles though.

      • You can just wait for hull upgrades, then your German Panzer IV will look like that too,

  6. Brummbar set as artillery ? Does that mean that Sturmtiger is gonna be arty as well ? I HOPE NOT.

        • It sucks, if the Brummbär really is an arty now. I too fear for the Sturmtiger!
          I also hate it that the Russian Panther A is tier 7, like the M10 Panther.
          I really hoped it would become like the prototype Panther as premium.

          Pz IV as tier 7 is absolutely stunning and I hope it’s a just a hoax,
          like some other red herrings before.

  7. SS, tell me it isnt true. Brummbar, PREMIUM ARTY?!?!? Whyyyy!??! So does this mean Sturmtiger will be a premium tier 8? Since the brummbar is premium.. :(

    • Where on earth does it say that it’s a premium?

      As to being arty, well a long loooooong time ago they released a now hilariously obsolete “final” German tech tree with the Brummbar and SturmTiger as arty. And there was also a recent dev Q&A posted that said they weren’t going to do three lines for each vehicle type. Add those together and… Well, yeah, looks like the Brummbar is artillery. :/

        • D’oh, didn’t notice that. I play this game pretty much every day and only now do I notice that premium tanks have orange/gold names.

      • Correction they did say that they aren’t going to do three lines for each vehicle type at all. They just said they don’t plan on doing that for every tree. It was confirmed a while ago that a new US medium line is being worked on and WG calls it the third line because they consider the autoloader line a medium tank line.

    • G1L…was a brother project of the G1B(already in game) and G1R(it’s turret is the top AMX 40 turret)
      I think it’ll be reclassed to heavy at tier 5.
      Now it’s only on s-test phase.

      • Not at all, the G1 project was to make a universal tank, closer to a medium but the armor would indeed be tough for its era. Especially when we consider that B1 was impervious even to dedicated german anti-tank guns and G1′s were to be tougher than that. The BDR’s G1 is classified as heavy tank because it was the largest and heaviest from all proposed designs.

        IMPORTANT: It’s not BDR turret, the company made a stock turret but the top one is FCM turret.

        One of the specifications of G1 project was to mount that turret.

    DID YOU KNOW G1 PROJECT WAS AIMED TO MAKE A UNIVERSAL TANK ?! THAT’S RIGHT DONKEYS! THEY WERE BEFORE EVEN THE SOVIET KV-1S AND KV-13 DAAAAAYYYYUUUUUM BUD THE NAZIS BASTARDS ENDED THE PARTY IN 41′.

    THERE WERE SEVERAL SUBMISSIONS FROM DIFFERENT COMPANIES : BDR, AMX, LORRAINE AND RENAULT, FROM OLD ICON LEAK WE KNOW THAT G1L AND G1R WILL MAKE IT IN TO GAME, THE G1B IS ALREADY IN GAME AS HEAVY TANK, DAYYYYYYYUUUMMM THE TENSION, I CAN’T STAND THIS.

    • The French have this weird history of repeatedly designing and/or introducing stuff ahead of its time right before a major war and then having to shelve it for logistical reasons or due to getting overrun in ’40 (as with the ’14 and ’40 standard-issue semiauto rifles or G1 here)… :/

        • More like unstable as fuck. The average lifespan of French governements between 1871 and 1940 wasn’t exactly on the long side which unsurprisingly made for a certain lack of consistent policy and funding.

  15. beware that everything inside that is premature information that is subject to change, I think this is not going to stay forever:
    -captured Pz4 w/ L/48 at tier 7 while caputured Panther (stock Panther?) is also at tier 7
    -Brummbär is an arty as of now, but this vehicle has been arround for longer. Not in the future i think.

    • True, but still, the premium arty version shocked me way too much… Since im preparing my TD crew for them :D (not rly but will soon) :D haha

    • Cyber- sports and skill-based MM. Basically it’s like ranked in League of Legends but in very early form before they made it huge championships with grand finale and prizes

      • A fair number of tournaments and leagues already. It’s just that it now gets support for looking for random games.

  17. T-4 captured T-5 captured, they said no captured tanks in 8.9. And i would drive that T-4 only with Nishizumi Miho as commander,

      • I’m still excited, even if it’s supertesting content in 8.9, a WG quality model of a Panzer IV ausf. H is a great resource for modders(like myself) to have

        • Now I’m intrigued… I’ve replaced pretty much every major tank with a fanmade version because aside from the mud and dust, every WG tank looks factory fresh. VK30.02(M) was appearently sent into battle without tools.

  18. the tiers must be placeholders indeed. Also note that normaly there are no 2 premium tanks that share the same class and tier.

    HOWEVER,… there is a slight posebility panther can be reclasified as a heavy. I know for wot that sounds stupid, but afaik the russians considered the panther more heavy then medium.

    not saying this will hapen, just that there is some theorethical posebility

    • It was discussed already, germans considered it a medium and a medium it will be. However because it’s so heavy, you can reasearch it only form a heavy tank. *wink*

      It’s pretty clear they’re placeholders, but I expect that these tanks will be reward vehicles instead of premiums for sale, thus the rule you express doesn’t apply

  23. My opinions on the new tanks shown:

    T-4: Basically a Panzer IV S moved up to tier 7. They’ll probably make the sideskirts count as spaced armor on this one and give it more HP, but besides that it looks like it has the top turret of the tier 5 Panzer IV and the 75 m L/48. Useless.

    T-5: Probably play very similarly to the Panther M10, which itself behaves like a historical Panther Ausf. D. Not AS useless as the T-4 but not exactly “good” unless you know what you’re doing and you have competent support from your team.

    Brumbar: Powerful gun…if it actually hits the target. Probably most useful for derping enemy tanks at close range in direct fire mode, but still capable of fire support at range.

    G1L: It’s a medium tank, but I can’t help but notice the resemblance to a Churchill…perhaps it’ll play a bit like a “fast heavy”?

    • The T-5 seems to be a Panther A unlike the Panther M10, which should be a
      Panther G. So it should be a little less good, but also tier 7.

  24. So the most historically accurate representations of the Panther and Pz4 will be captured Russian variants!? Makes perfect sense comrade! Captured vehicles as a whole are a bad idea and should be done away with, especially when it is more historical than the actual German Panther we have in game. Like I’d love to have a German T7 premium Panther with historical configuration to train GERMAN crews in…
