Monty Python Easter Egg in WoT

Thanks to EndlesNights for this one :)

Well, this works for EU and NA version of the game, not sure about RU.

Check the World_of_Tanks (your WoT folder)\res_bw\scripts\common\Lib\email\test\data folder – there you will find a file called (sound players should be able to play it, Winamp does) – in case you are wondering where it is from, it’s from this Monty Python video.

Testing sounds with Monty Python – how terrible :)

          Nobody expects the Belarussian Inquisition!
Our chief weapon is SerB…SerB and nerf…
Our two weapons are nerf, SerB…and ruthless TKing
Our three weapons are TKing, nerf, SerB…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Donkey

Our four…no… amongst our weaponry are such elements as SerB, nerf…. I’ll come in again.

    • “NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition” and even fewer people get it right. Shish, where is a pedantic bastard when you need one.

  1. That’s funny. I met Victor K. in LA a couple years back at the ESPN zone event just before launch (@ E3). I showed him Monty Python’s “How not to be seen” sketch, to show him what I thought of camo in WOT. He didn’t get it or was not amused (he actually said he didn’t get the humor in whatching people explode). My I-Pad speaker wasn’t loud enough to be heard over the din. He was also being pestered by fat wierdos from a defense company trying to get him to invest in arm mountable combat computers.

    • Yes, I’m sure Victor K. is responsible for 100% of the coding in WoT. That explains why patch delivery time is so long.

  2. And what about strange emails named msg_XX.txt like

  3. Testing Python scripts with Monty Python, why not :)

I just wonder whether WG has permission from the copyright holder to distribute that audio snippet or if it was dealth with the “how terrible” solution :D

  4. It’s not actually WoT code; it’s part of the test code for Stackless, a version of Python with lightweight threads. Presumably all of that stuff was just dumped in there because it’s easier to maintain stuff like this when you avoid as much as possible modifying the vendor code.

  5. You can spot the non Python fans. May have to re-install the Monty Python sound pack:)

  6. Cardinal! Bring… THE GOOD MATCHMAKER!

    *dramatic music*

You will play as a top tier ’til lunch time. Now, confess. Confess! CONFESS!!!
