Test 8.10: Supertester Vehicles

Soviet tier 3 TD – SU-76i

This vehicle was built by the Soviets on the captured Panzer III chassis. The turret was removed and a superstructure, carrying a 76mm S-1 gun (a modified version of F-34 gun) was added. About 200 were made.

Japanese tier 3 LT – Ke-Ni Otsu

Ke-Ni Otsu was an experimental version of the Ke-Ni light tank with a different suspension (something like Christie with modifications), potentially allowing for better speed. A prototype was actually built. In game it is armed with 37mm Type 100 gun.

  1. can someone explain to me what does SS mean by supertester vehicle?

do we get the thing or is it a reward for supertesters? i dont get it :/

    • No. These vehicles are not available for regular players in 8.10 test, only for supertesters for testing. Usually it means that they will appear in the following patch, but in this case, both tanks are most likely reward/premium tanks.

  2. Man I hope the Otsu gets preferential MM, because that 37mm gun is pretty underwhelming at that tier. Otherwise, a very lovely looking vehicle.

    The SU-76i looks awesome!

    • For reference, the 37mm Type 100 serves as the stock cannon on the Type 98 Ke-Ni.

      48 pen, 45 damage, .41 accuracy.
This puts its firepower at about the same level as the LTP… which also gets preferential MM.

      • They HAVE rebalanced it, they decreased the mobillity slightly (a bit heavier, 2 deg/sec lower traverse, slightly worse ground resistance on all grounds), worse accuracy on the move (0.22 to 0.24).
And what do you get in return?
        They rebalanced the gun:
        200/200/300 dmg
        147/210/43 mm pen (AP/APCR/HE)
        9.52 RpM
        Unchanged accuracy/aim time/depression

It’s still only available to supertesters but it’s being changed.

  3. Su-76I, same panzer III conversion on the SU-85I, only differences are the gun and the added cupola.

  4. Why is SU-76i in the Russian tree? It’s built on a German chassis, so it belongs in the German tree. SerB was quite insistent on this, which is why the Marder 1 is in the French tree.

    • Actually, I think he stated the Marder I is in the French tree more because it was convienant at the time than anything else.
