WG EU: Czech Portal Fail

Hello everyone,

while translating newest batch for QA, I came upon this brilliant piece of Czech portal translation. This appeared in the Czech weekly missions on WG EU portal:

czfail

As you can see, it’s not the infamous language bug (random switch of language), as the rest of it is in Czech. They just left a part in English and (I assume by some form of copypaste) inserted Czech words into English text. Stunning, simply stunning. It’s been fixed after a while, but why the hell do they release it with such bugs in the first place?

  1. SS: It’s been fixed after a while, but why the hell do they release it with such bugs in the first place?
CN: Somebody in IT needs job security. So other people mess things up to keep him around.

  2. For those who feel like posting “OMGHEREHEGOESAGAIN”, there will be at least two more very interesting posts today. Later on though (you’ll see why).

  3. As Iam working with a online web editor software I know that those fails might happen, but these fails are rather very often… I always double and tripple check everything before I go public. Knowing the page has some serious attention (from you SS :D) I would check my content 10x before going out lol.

Note: Well as of small mistakes happening I ment like small typos, but a whole very visible sentence is just to much of a fail…

I wonder why the hell the web redactor doesnt put the translated texts into MS Word and uses the grammar correction…

    • Yep. I have a “flock” of 11K sharepoint site collections on several infrastructure levels to take care of (among other things), yet the common sense would suggest that publishing anything on the most exposed level requires at least a brief check.

Well, at least if I screw up here, I know that the proficiency requirements are not that harsh elsewhere :-)

  4. That’s not the only fail in this article. Link “Wsparcie” (Confederate) in the Polish version of the article goes to the Spain achievements site.
