Rotos Developers, is proud for having such an innovative and unique building in its records and thanks all colleagues who contributed to the creation and implementation of the project, the company says in a statement.

    • Nothing, megalomania will ruin them, like any other company…
And with it, so WoT will go.

Later they will say some better engine than this one is too expensive. Yea right…

  1. How about they give us a new engine so maybe, just maybe I could play on normal graphics with 40 FPS…
And balance the game, rework some mechanics, nerf gold ammo, nerf tier 10 TD nukers….

    • “just maybe I could play on normal graphics with 40 FPS…” Oh yeah, would be nice…
I already have fun with 20fps on low graphics and I it would make even 5x more fun, if i could play it on a normal-fps-level…

  2. Wait… Cyprus is in the EU, does this mean no more WGEU office?!?! SS would be so happy!

  3. Classic case of tax minimization. Not illegal but …… Remember WG generates significant income from a diverse range of global currencies, it does make sense to centralise this function offshore. Being a part shareholder of a Bank seems a smart move, even though you might not like it.

    • Actually it is years to late, if they would be pro in Tax avoiding, they would found a company in RAK, buy WG, move HQ there, pay exactly 0% Taxes. Or to make it more fair pay 0,1% tax on net income. “good will” to not feel to much of an asshole :D
….then you can still use the trade/financial ties… and put a splintercorp in Lithunia, Czech Republic or Romania… where you pay no tax at all because of the finance treaties. But for this, WG obviously is once more not skilled enough… At least they have good Batva ties… (mafia)

  4. So the creators of the Aliens universe only got one initial wrong.. Its not Weyland-Yutani corp, its War-Gaming Corp…

  5. Cyprus is a “tax haven” of sorts.. very low taxation levels (fook knows why they were let in the EU with that low level..)

WG owns 40% (IIRC) of Bank of Cyrpus

WG now owns massive fuck-off building.

    Whats next?
WG buy half of the island, Vik and SerB retire to the penthouse saying “how terrible we have to slum it like this, but more Gold noobs!”…

  6. Gotta love the entitlement in the comments. If I wasn’t playing this game, I would’ve guessed people here were bitching and whining about their city mayor or governor wasting taxpayer dollars.

  7. First sign they are laundering money for the Russian mobsters.

Step One: find some poor country that will sell its body and soul just to survive recession.

    Greece. Check.

Step Two: Buy a bank as a perfect cover for large money transactions, laundry mod ON.

    Bank bought. Check

Step Three: By some private property were they can have nice and quite meetings far away from the pesky eyes.

    Specter building bought. Check.

Now, who will be Number 1?

Too many James Bond movies, sorry. But, you know what they say, ”in every joke there is 80% of truth”.

    • Money laundring is far more different these days as you might think, lol.

If WG is with the Batva, they can easily clean any “dirty” money with what they make thanks to people who buy premium stuff. This money comes in, you can justify here and there it’s clean. You can even fake transactions on the terminals (licence for visa, mc, you name it…) and get away with it BECAUSE WG managed to get a terminal. Let’s buy 50.000 fullz (creditcards..) and card the shit out of it, this wont be any problem anymore… and when they were smart, they get the ultra business protection for CC transactions… so if the money gets booked back – insurance lets you keep the money.
Jesus girls, did you never learn anything from the internet?

  8. I understood why they bought some of the cyprus bank’s actions and I understand why they’re buying this kind of stuff(to avoid big taxes).
But hell…why they don’t use at least 5% from those money to improve the game….with the money they got they can at least speed up the optimisation of the engine…or find a better one that handles the server-side stuff as well as BigWorld and port the game onto it…
Maybe it’s time-killing, but they can do it in paralel to WoT’s regular development.

  9. More reason not to buy gold since obviously they are wasting it on wrong things. Instead improving game, fixing some idiotic bugs or hire better stuff they waste money on such thing.

    • It’s for you to decide personally if you want to spend money on WoT, based on what you want to get out of the game, what you can afford, and if this is where you would like to spend your entertainment money or somewhere else.

What they do with the money you have given them is entirely up to them and should not affect your decision.

Should they not update the game (they are, constantly) then that is a seperate issue which you can factor into the “is this worth it?” part of your decision.

  10. “The 2012–2013 Cypriot financial crisis is a major economic crisis in the Republic of Cyprus that involves the exposure of Cypriot banks to over-leveraged local property companies, the Greek Debt Crisis, the downgrading of the Cypriot government to junk status by international rating agencies, the consequential inability to refund its state expenses from the international markets and the reluctance of the government to restructure the troubled Cypriot financial sector.

On 25 March 2013, a €10 billion bailout was announced in return for Cyprus agreeing to close its second largest bank, the Cyprus Popular Bank (also known as Laiki Bank), levying all uninsured deposits there, and possibly around 40% of uninsured deposits in the Bank of Cyprus (the island’s largest commercial bank), many held by wealthy citizens of other countries – many of them from Russia – who were using Cyprus as a tax haven. No insured deposit of 100,000 Euros or less would be affected.”

So basically WG bought a bank which is rated as junk.

    • Yep.

But… the Bank is a Member of the EZB (or ECB in english?) which allows them as a bank to take loans of up to 10.000.000.000 € without any rate higher than Zero. For up to 30yrs… good move for that, though, I would have just bought the licence for 10mil and made a private bank… but ok

      • ” bought a bank which is rated as junk”…
….. but is getting massive bailouts, free loans and is virtually guaranteed not to fail (by the government, EU Banking system and World banking systems).

Business and property purchases/investments are (usually) based on 10-20 year planning..

We slag WG off for such moronic fails, an ancient engine, “fake” tanks, russian bias, etc etc..
…but they own a massive fancy building, and 1/3 of a bank, on a sunny tax haven..
……..which we are all “paying for”.. either those who buy gold or your taxes for bailing out Cyprus

…………………..some twat somewhere has his head screwed on properly……

  11. they got their bank. now, their evil hq (not pictured; volcano its built on/in). next, private army?
