- SerB states regarding old (0 battle) accounts occupying “nice” names that there most likely will be a system, that will be renaming them automatically
- apparently SerB doesn’t think that the IS-6 competition will create a flood of IS-6 tanks, like it happened with Type 59 before
- there will be all three map types (desert, summer and winter) for lowtier tanks
- Q: “How much smaller are the tanks in game than they are in real life?” A: “That depends on your screen. On a 20 meter cinema screen, it would be roughly 1:1″
- the average life span of a tank in WoT battle is cca 4 minutes, for a plane in WoWp it is cca 2 minutes, as for the classes – the longest lifespan belongs to arty, the shortest – hightier scouts
- Wargaming participating in/sponsoring the Tank Biathlon? “Not even PR department deals with such stuff, that would be GR (Government Relations) department, which is even further from the development department than PR”
- turretless tanks will not have apparently anything flying off during an ammo rack explosion
- there is no plan to hand out 2-3 perk crews in connection with historical battles, you will have to grind them yourselves
- Storm adds regarding the War Thunder damage model that something like was tested some months ago internally for World of Tanks, the tests did not yield good results (“without perspective”), but states that even such a damage model will find its fans
- historical battles will have the same game mechanics as random battles (SS: eg. no hardcore mode or oneshots)

What about accounts that have long been abandoned?

  2. I hope that in historical battles the HPs of the tanks of different tiers would be balanced. Like Tiger vs T-34 wouldn’t be fair when Tiger has 1500 HP and T-34 450.

Killing an enemy tank by shooting it in the copula is dumb. I hope Havok engine will tear these weaks spots off after a shot or two.

    • Actually it isn’t as dumb as you’d think – the shell penetrating inside a copula can do massive damage to anything that’s inside the whole tank (they aren’t separated internally), crew, ammo, stuff. Bouncing, exploding, stuff like that.

And, of course, there’s really not a better system to work with them.

      • This is an arcade game based upon historical tanks. Not a tank simulator, want real tank warfare? Join the army.

It’s about balance, having the weak spot is fine just being able to repeatedly shoot it gets dumb whether you are dealing damage out or receiving it in that spot.

        Balance > historicity

        • yesterday i played some WT-GF T34 and the stug was really fun, at last to shoot and blow a tank from 1000 meters. i like their DM, the KV-1 is very hard to crack, but those German TD actually 1 shoot them, on weekspots.

          no hitpoints or healthbar shit

  4. - Q: “How much smaller are the tanks in game than they are in real life?” A: “That depends on your country”

For instance the Obj 268 in real life is higher than a JT but in WoT is half as high. Funny that……. it being Russian and all

  5. Heh, if I understand correctly, tanks like T28 prototype, Wolverine, Hellcat, will have the abbility of turret ripping off? But that’s a bullshit, the explosion force will rip off only closed turrets, open turret wouldn’t fly off.

    • I think they also said for open turreted tanks that their turrets won’t fly off either. Only closed turrets where the pressure from the explosion wouldn’t have nowhere to go…
