Wargaming to publish a WoT/WoWp magazine

Hello everyone,

this info comes obviously from the WG EU newsletter, but some of you might have missed like (like me, WG newsletter ends up in spam folder regularily). So, check this out (picture by cNNk):

letsbattle

Disregard the language (Czech): Wargaming is going to publish a magazine about WoT and WoWp. This promo picture includes the announcement about “latest news”, interviews, war stories, archive documents and such. Could be interesting. It will be issued both in Russian and in English – which means it will be translated from Russian, which means less space for WG EU fails. That is good. Allegedly, this magazine will be published at first in English and Russian only, but from No.2 it will appear in other languages, like Czech and Polish.

I am a bit afraid here that if the same people who translate the portal translate this too, we might get much stronk translashuns (could be hilarious, but not exactly something I’d want).

An interesting thing: carramba66 posted a video in the Czechoslovak forum section, showing recent appendix (as in, a mini-magazine within) from one Czech magazine (Score, January edition). It might give us a little insight on how the magazine might look design-wise…

  1. Hmm, this can end up really ok, or really bad.. Depending on who does the translations..
BTW SS: is it possible this has something to do with the locked WoT Wiki pages that can’t be edited since November?

    • Well… that’s a bit of a pickle with the WoT Wiki. Officially it’s being “re-worked” or something. There is some problem with Wargaming there, but I talked to one of the main wiki guys and he asked me not to get involved in this, so I won’t. At this moment, there is no ETA on that as far as I know.

        • Aliens. Definitely Aliens. Or the Pope.

I hope they do rework it though. It’s not bad, but compare it to some other wiki’s (STALKER wiki for an example) or some Android apps even, it does not compare.
Hell, even my outdated forum guides on tanks are overall slightly better :P .

Wait, it will be in English and Russian first, so what is this guy showing us in the video and why is it in Czech? o.O

    • Its not that new magazine in the video, its something like newbie guide in one of the czech game magazines “Score”

  3. Not a thing in there that would be even slightly interesting to me.

Still, a way for them to try and grab some more money. Or at least get a bit of promotion – “our game is sooo big that we have our own magazine”.

      • Provided they use proper sourcing in their articles I would buy those especially if Pasholok and other historians are involved

        • Yes, because i need to know more stories from Jingles’ private life and which tank was most popular among players this week… Just look at the video. It is for casuals and kids, you won’t find there any valuable info you already didn’t know.
Frank i can understand, because of his blog activity. But anyone else, you will see ;) …

          • Yes, it most likely will be “cool” and “funny”, but most likely won’t have useful information, but it doesn’t matter.

        • I doubt it will be for money. The picture says “interactive”, which implies electronic form. And if it is for money, well, I guess someone uploads it eventually.

          • Ooops, i got suggested myself by this video and missed the word “interactive” :) . Then it is promotional only. Let’s wait and see…
