Historical battle interface prototype

Source: http://world-of-ru.livejournal.com/2963933.html

Hello everyone,

Maiorboltach from the RU community posted about this nice little thing – in recent “Poka vse v tanke” video (sort of like videoblog with another popular Russian girl moderator), an interesting thing was shown: Historical battle mode interface prototype. Don’t be freaked out by the vehicles, it’s just a prototype with placeholders.

The first picture shows the historical battle ammo loadout screen, looks like the gold ammo will really be limited and the ammo setup is actually pre-set, you buy this preset in its entirety.

Second picture shows the battle choice. Nothing much to see there, except for the names of the battles. The battles planned apparently for the first round are the battle of Stalingrad, battle of Kursk, the Defense of Mogilev (early Blitzkrieg phase of operation Barbarossa in July 1941). The last battle (marked as “coming soon”) is named “Kursk salient”.

The video is interesting too by the way, as it contains “the making of Wargaming calendar” – with girls of course :)

  1. Apparently, even if a tank is not an A-43 or Pz 3/4 in historical battles, it’s still an A-43 or Pz 3/4.

  2. 4.72″(120mm) AP T42? Almost exactly 120mm? Not 122? What historical tank fired that?

EDIT – Ah, the T34……why the T34 in historical battle mode?

Also, what does that paragraph to the side of the second image say?

    • Well, since HE where mostly used against buildings and other soft targets they would not load to many of these into a battle where only armour where anticipated.

  3. Ася is 10 times hotter than those calender girls. And is literally the only reason I watch every episode of Пока все в танке.

  4. In 3 years this is the feature I have been waiting for, but if they let people use gold ammo they can stick it up their ass.

      • I can’t be bothered to play WT as it is (air battles seem fundamentally more simplistic than ground battles), but I am interested to see how GF pans out.

The sim-like approach is a refreshing change from WoT’s system. The lack of an artificial aiming circle is rather appealing, as is the increased potential combat range.

Only weird I’ve seen is the seemingly chaotic nature of the battles. Seems to go, even with a serious gamer like Quickybaby, ‘enemy sighted, immediately stop moving, shoot enemy until one of us is dead’. Maybe it is something to do with garage battles, but I don’t understand why players aren’t being more tactical, e.g. retreating, finding cover.

Hey, hey, hey! Do I feel “light” sexism here (not about the whole thing, but by the phrase – of course )? :)

  6. Jagdtiger will be the only tier 9 tank in historical battles and Ferdinand in 1943 (tier 8 against tier 5 t-34). A little unbalanced.
Anyway premium tank can participate in Historical battles? Panther/M10 or Dicker Max
Oh and i forgot. SU-14-2 in Battle of Moscow :D

    • If I remember, it was said that Panther M10 might appear as well as other premium vehicles, while the only restriction was placed on whenever they were or were not in given battle so the question is, will there be Ardennes for example.

  7. Looks really interesting I like how the gold ammo will be limited could turn out to be very fun actually.

    • I would assume because we have plenty of… girls… in our immediate vicinity and that one reading this forums would determine that tanks are more exciting than girl(s) around them, at this point of time.

so no serb sexy pics?? damn !!! :(

  9. If only they would limit the ammo loadout for randoms and not only in historical mode so faggits can’t spam Sssss shells at you 0-24.

  10. So one would have to pay gold for the better ammo loadouts?

Okay, if that makes it into the final gamemode, any claims that the game doesn’t have a pay to win aspect will immediately go out the window. I’m almost certain that will be removed at some point during testing.
