Check out Listy’s article “Grand Theft Walrus” :) Stealing a warplane – not such a good idea.

- in 9.0, HD Panther became taller and wider. This is correct according to Storm, the old model had incorrect size all along
- the changes in vehicles in historical battles (SS: as in, removing some and adding some) were made “according to data, provided by historians”
- when balancing MM weight in historical battles, the tier of the vehicle is irrelevant – what matters is the combat effectivity of the vehicle in that historical battle, for example KV-1S at Kursk has quite low HBMM weight, despite being a tier 6 heavy
- the profitability of lowtier tanks in historical battles will be improved, so it pays off to use them
- historical battles will constantly be monitored by the developers and adjusted, so both sides have the same win chance
- the amount of polygons on HD M103 wheels won’t be increased

So is it the same size as the 8.9 Panther or is it slightly larger?

    • Check out the HD screenshots, you can clearly see the Panther looks different to the current model. If anything I thought they had made it taller and narrower, not wider. Looks like its been squeezed together.

      • I mean – with this new batch of changes to the model of the Panther – how does it NOW compare to our 8.9 Panther?

      • “Check out the HD screenshots”
How about you try the test server and compare it to say Tiger II?

FU Storm, it was a huge damn tank even before. Next they make VK3002M, Panther/M10 and Panther II even bigger….Do they stop there or go for more?

    • So all along we’ve been complaining that the Panther looks wrong……omg. I mean really, all the so called effort into so called balancing and now, maybe, it might be wrong, lmfao.

So, maybe, Russian Tier 6 Heavy Tanks having 390 alpha damage and a The Tiger having 240 might, maybe, be slightly wrong? MAYBE!

But now lets just make the Panther Taller. WOW.

You think maybe the IS3 might be, maybe, I mean just a little bit, slight lower then it should be…..MAYBE?

If anyone in Minsk was wondering why people are not playing WOT as much or why we complain so much, this, MIGHT, maybe, just a little bit, be a good example Serb.

      • Lol Tiger 1 is far and away the best T7 now there is. Thats right even better than my beloved T29.

With 1500 HP its got the same meat as a T8 heavy vs the 1150 of a T29 and if sideways its 100mm turns into 200mm effective.

On top of the fact it spits a laser beam like 88mm at 240 DMG every 5.5 secs…lol

Stop complaining about Tiger its ridiculously OP if played right.

Does the random 122mm`s 390 DMG bug me? Yes
Does the Caliber=Damage aspect bug me? Yes
Is the Tiger ever useful as an argument for a tank being UP anymore? NO!!!!

  2. So if the Panther gets bigger, can we safely assume that the VK3002M will be bigger as well? (Please no ._.)

      • Yea, no shit, the Jagdpanther is horribly inaccurate. But the Two Kv1s’s they could find, they came out just fine…… with 390 damage for balancing, To dominate the Medium companies no less.

  3. SS, will the HD model of the Stug tier 5 get side skirts, when it gets reworked?

Also, M103 has good detail, who wants more :D :D
Also, developers have not given up on respawn for low tier tanks in HB?

  4. I want the Marder 38T in some historic battles. And the Nashorn in the Kursk battle.

  5. Oh, this haven’t been posted yet! I have no idea where should I post this so I’ll just leave this here:

I have no idea about other servers, but in SEA my friend shared this link (I briefly checked the game website and didn’t see this mentioned, probably comes from forum). Surprisingly fun lol, and I am pausing the game since I have no idea how to kill the boss in tier X.

http://forum.worldoftanks.asia/april1-game/ (Minigame involving tanks and crayfish spam, probably related to previous post about crayfish protection thingy :D)

    • Can’t beat lvl 10, no idead how to hurt boss. Tried shooting him in the ass while he “scans” the are with red light, tried standing in that light, nothing.

      • OK so (randomly) a Maus will drop from the sky, smashing the boss. No idea if you have to do something or is it purely random, I tried everything, even drove inside him so he was spinning around and I was standing in its belly. After a couple of minutes I gave up, no Maus air strike for me.

      • Yeah, I ragequitted after trying every tricks that I could think.

        If I remember right, it’s a IS-7, right?

So they make a minigame where the last tank is a IS-7 that can’t penetrate heavily armored tank… *smirk*

EDIT : Just saw the new reply. Maus will drop from the sky randomly? Unless I know if there’s a certain trigger I won’t try it again, been bored circling the crayfish for long and too lazy to do that again.

I assume it’s also the last level, right? Any special anything happen after that?

  6. I was thinking of re-buying the Panther. Then the upcoming major rebalance made me rethink any future purchases, but the Panther made even bigger already made my mind before any rebalance is done.

    • I don’t know about te camo values, but why is it so bad it’s just a bit bigger? It certainly won’t bug me, Panther was a big-ass tank IRL,

  7. - in 9.0, HD Panther became taller and wider. This is correct according to Storm, the old model had incorrect size all along

Historical accuracy is so damn important when talking about other tanks than KV-1SH*T. Just leave that thing with -8° gun depression instead of historical -2°.

    ____________
So after God knows how many years/patches WG’s historians finally “discovered” Panther was too small.

    - when balancing MM weight in historical battles, the tier of the vehicle is irrelevant – what matters is the combat effectivity of the vehicle in that historical battle, for example KV-1S at Kursk has quite low HBMM weight, despite being a tier 6 heavy
    ____________
Why not using this for random battles too so those statpadding faggots in KV-1S’s couldn’t roflstomp poor T4/5 tanks with retarded 1shots, but instead to fight more T8 tanks. Also since they are all about historical accuracy when will that piece of shit get -2° gun depression as it’s historically accurate. You see all these years that tank is “fine” but all of a sudden when it sucks in historical battles(because it was a piece of shit irl) they have implemented special combat effectivity so their poor hammer and sickle machine wouldn’t suffer too much. They make me sick in my tummy.

    • Wow, wery interesting. The great History researchered are WG didn’t saw that for 3 years? I think Juri is underperforming. Nerf Yuri. :D /sarcasm
Anyways, I saw in the WG ASAP video that if a new model of the tank was made 3 or 4 different people check if the model is historical…. WG makes a clown of themself, rich people get arrogant. :/

    • New historical documents show all soviet tanks were actually much smaller and had -15 gun depress.

      /s

  9. Subjective balancing is terrible, all parameters should be formulas when they can be quantified.

For example, tier by tank type by size should the primary determinants of camo and viewrange values; which should be inverse relationships of each other. A large tank should get significantly superior view range but worse camo while a small tank should get better camo but very bad view range.

    • Someone can make a comparison? I find the same height in game as on your picture. I am confused now…
