Hello everyone,
American players Sadomasticator and dudu1212 recently visited the California General Patton Museum and decided to share some of their pictures. Thanks a lot :)
Warning: this post is very picture-heavy
M4A4 Sherman
M26 Pershing
Notice the hole in the mantlet
M47 Patton
M578 Wrecker/Crane
T-55 Riot/Fire vehicle
Various assorted M60 Pattons (not sure which version is which, two are labeled M60A3, maybe they all are?)
Notice the cool camo pattern on the wrecked vehicle
M60 is officialy considered as a heavy tank?
T-55 Riot control vehicule looks a bit odd.
Great pics, thank you Sadomasticator and dudu1212.
M60 is officialy MBT.
Thank you.
Officially it was a 105 mm Gun Tank, but MBT is sufficient.
It was designed and initially designated as medium, but then changed to MBT fairly quick.
The T55 “Riot Control” tank seems to be a Czech T55 – SPOT Special Fire Fighting Tank. See pictures here: http://englishrussia.com/2010/08/06/fire-fighting-tanks-of-the-ussr/ and here: http://www.protipoziarne.sk/foto-351-Tank_SPOT_T55.html
It’s not intersting!!
I WANNA SEE A TIGER!!
then piss off. you know, i also dont cry if theres anything about RU tanks on FTR…
Will a Maus suffice?

Oh look. Fasist stronk bawk tenk femboi.
The two Patton pics 2nd from bottom are an M47, not M60. The Sherman, are you sure that’s a M4A4? I know that’s what it says on the sign, but M4A4s had welded hulls and highly visible crew hatches. This looks like a M4 hybrid to me.
Sorry about that, those were some of the last pics we took and we had a long trip ahead and didn’t pay much attention to the several tank wrecks they had piled in the corner.
That M4 might be a M4A6 or maybe a M4E6 tho I don’t think it’s the E6 since it doesn’t have the correct turret or the correct armament.
Pics 11,12,13 are of an M47 not an M60A3.
It is nice to see the museum doesn’t know that the M60A3 was an MBT and not a heavy. IIRC the M4A4 production finished by 1943, don’t know why it would be ’44.
I want the M47 to replace the current M46. And the M46 to become a US tier 8 premium tank (historical gun and stuff)
Maybe the M47 gets added to the M46 when WG adds hull modules.
Possibility… but M47 is its own thing.
M46 is basically a buffed Pershing :( . And IMO a M46 OR an M46 with the experimental M47 turret (like in game) would make an excellent premium tank!
The pershing we have in game has the M46 Patton turret as the second turret, I think. I would like M46 to be renamed to M47 because it’s M47′s top turret.
The M47 has a different hull and top speed.
Yea, the M47 looks epic
Nice pics, I do believe that the last 3 camoed tanks are M47′s, the muzzle break at the end, exaust out the top on the rear deck, along with the raised back of the turret. The M60 had exhaust out that covered the back end between the tracks. Spent may a night en-hailing that exhaust just to keep warm.
It’s so sad to see these tenks in such a bad condition:\
I would like to note that I finally figured out where the video “Tank Spot” was made:
http://youtu.be/stUJ3NGSlV4?t=15s
The first 15 seconds were bad and dragged the video down, but the rest… pure awesome.
Btw WGNA, I think I deserve an M60 code for looking so awesome in that last pic…
So if I’m reading the plate correctly, the M4A4 has five engines crammed into it? The hell?
Called a multibank configuration.

Interesting. That looks like a nightmare to maintain, though.
That is why they were negated to training duty in the US and exports.
Beautiful countryside, would love to go there.
When we drive from southern New Mexico to Los Angeles to visit one of our kids in college, the scenery doesn’t change for eleven hours.
That’s only because of the low speed limit :P

That and the 700 miles…
You should see Joshua Tree National Park, its like 30 minutes from this museum. Awesome place.
man i want that orange camo pattern!
I went to this particular museum for my 12th birthday, many many moons ago. Super awesome place. The inside has some really cool stuff as well.
That recovery vehicle has stronk T71 resemblance!
If anybody is looking for more pictures of tanks they should visit primeportal.net
thanks! appriciated.
that Pershing hit isnt penetrating or is it?
Doesn’t seem to be, no.
Nice pics, I’ll check those camo if they are the same in game and put it on my US tanks.
Somehow I’m looking somewhere if Arnold Schwarzenegger is in the background on any M47 tanks.
that camo looks like the MERDC ‘Red ‘Desert’. Put onto all the New Zealand armour in the late ’70s.
Funny how this keeps showing the US tank in 1962 to face the Rus MBT`s is the M60A3.
Also look at how different the M47 hull is. They need to make the correct enemies appear. Its not that the Rus tanks are so OP in game [well 120mm Hull T54 that also has massively OP engine] as much as they pick those tanks rivals poorly.
T54 with 120mm Hull and huge Engine+100mm gun enenmy should be at minimum a M47 [meaning much better hull than M46] and in all reality should be a full M48, since the T54 really has T55 stuff on it.
Also the T62A should be facing the M60A3 as the only reason the T64 came about was the M60 scared the Ruskis so badly.
Basically, the it went back and forth where M26 was best, then T54, then M47 then T55 then M48 then M60 then T64/72 then M1.
But in WOT they pick the weakest opponents, while picking the strongest possible Rus tanks.
