Tanks – Where To Go in May

Hello everyone,

earlier, I promised to let FTR readers know about two real life tank events that happen in May, so here goes! First (and very well known one) is the Militracks event in Overloon, Netherlands. It takes place between 17.5.2014 and 18.5.2014 (this weekend!) from 9AM to like 5PM – you can check for more on its webpage. Amongst the vehicles that will appear there are:

1x 2-cm-Flak 38 (sf) auf leichtem Zugkraftwagen 1 t D7 (Sd.Kfz. 10/5)
1x leichter Zugkraftwagen 3 t Hkl (Sd.Kfz. 11)
2x mittlerer Zugkraftwagen 8 t KMm (Sd.Kfz. 7)
1x schwerer Zugkraftwagen 18 t F3 (Sd.Kfz. 9)

1x Jagdpanzer 38 (t) “Hetzer” (Sd.Kfz. 138/2)

…. and many more (full list here). The program of the event can be found here.

Second event is the Military Festival in Hungary, organized by the World of Tanks community. It is taking place between 24.5.2014 and 25.5.2014 in Tapolca, Hungary. The program includes:

- Military display
- War reencantments
- WoT contests
- Tank driving and live weapons
- Exhibitions
- Presentations

Amongst the tanks present, there will be a Tiger replica, Hetzer replica, SU-76 replica, T-44, Katyusha rocket launcher and many more. Here is a trailer for the event:

And here is the Facebook page with details, along with last year’s photos.

To all of you going to the events – enjoy!

  1. Aw :( why this weekend in Overloon, I have my programming exams starting tomorrow and ending a week later. Bad time to travel from north to south Netherlands :P

  2. Holy crap, an awesome event in my country and I didn’t even know! I’ll definately go there this weekend since it’s only a 40 minute drive from where I live :)

    • Just out of curiosity: it’s a 40 miute drive for me too. I have to drive up from the south. What direction would you be driving in from?

  3. Do they give prem tank codes too on these events (or just a few hundred gold)? Ive never been on things like this and it is a bit far away from where i live. Maybe it is a lame question sry for that. I would pay for a Type but not for a Matilda.

    • The first one isn’t organized by WG and the second one by the community so they will highly likely not have any bonus codes or gold.

      • So as you commented and corrected me an arrogant way: “The first one” i do know who does organize this event … since im hungarian too and it is on the program sheet and my question wasnt even about this topic but you surely felt great for a few hours to be so clever boy.You can pat your testina mate. And “the second one” is on the wg webpage http://worldoftanks.eu/en/news/community/hungary-event-240514/ so you should be clever before you try to teach. Anyway my question became different but by now completely pointless too. Thanks little boy.

  4. Awesome, I’m definitely going to Overloon, just because it would be my first military parade thingy to see in my life!

  5. SS, I believe there’s an ‘open barracks’ day in the Poznań CSWL in Poland on the 31st, but somebody would have to confirm.
