- Storm confirms that the 9.1 Valentine II armor change is a fix, the armor will be the same as in 8.11 (SS: apparently this got the Russians very excited for some reason)
- in 9.1 there will be no new HD models
- Province (SS: not sure about the name in English, the lowtier valley) and Widepark will not appear in high tier battles, they are too small
- the new sounds were implemented into the 9.1 test for feedback collection, it’s not yet sure whether they will appear on live server the way they are
- both the sound and the graphics correspond to the full aim circle reduction (SS: as in, both the sound and the graphic circle should show that the circle is fully aimed)
- WT E-100 150mm gun is not overnerfed
- in the future, historical battles will be completely rebalanced, it’s pointless to give suggestion as to which tanks to add or remove in the current ones
- Mail.ru company (Armored Warfare) cooperating with UVZ tank production company? “No comment, sorry”
- Storm stated earlier that top tier and premium tanks, made in metal, should have only the guns they were carrying in real life. There are cases when this is not true – IS-4, FV4202, Batchat etc. – Storm adds that he knows about them, but these are exceptions and Wargaming doesn’t want to add more of these
- Storm will investigate, whether the fact that T23E3 has different damage for gold and silver shells is intentional
- there will be a second round of the test
- the option to download (or to not download) HD content will come in 9.2
- the developers will solve the issue of vertical stabilization of the aim circle (the way it is now with dynamic camera enabled) when new motion physics are introduced. The new motion physics mean that the tank “rocking” will be calculated fully serverside. Storm states that it’s most likely WG will have to enable vertical stabilization for everyone by default
- for now (before motion physics), vertical stabilization without dynamic camera will not be enabled
- regarding the 9.1 sounds: developers decided to implement the turret sound, the sound of reloading (“shell falling” – that clanking after shot) and the increase of sound range from 300 to 600 meters on the live server. The new gun sounds and the Hellcat/Jackson engine sound will not come in 9.1.
- theoretically, it’s possible to copy the 9.1 test sound folder to the 9.1 live client to keep the 9.1 test gun sounds in the live version (SS: not sure which files though)
- apparently, 9.1 Komarin will be rechecked because it’s causing low performance
- WT E-100 150mm gun is not overnerfed
You don’t say?
Russians asking “special” questions…
Hey Silent, Can you ask WG about the new Power8 Processors and if they are powerful enough to do larger maps and battles?
I think it means in comparison to the 128mm gun. Most people use the 128mm because it’s a much better option.
Yes the 128mm is too OP – it’s the 15cm that is the most balanced of the 2 (However I’m not sure it is balanced overall)
Wouldn’t know never used it. 128 can’t be beaten imho.
- WT E-100 150mm gun is not overnerfed
I love playing Waffle with 15 cm on test server! Even without using gold ammo :D
Try the 12.8. It’s astronomically better IMHO.
Thats a matter of opinion, both guns have their own beauty.
Load all HE…..:)
Hello, Circling. ;)
“Province and Widepark will not appear in high tier battles, they are too small”
So is Mines, but we still have to endure high tier matches in there…
B-but mines is fun… ._____.
Mines is not a bad map overall but terrible for Tier VIII+ battles, arty which is absolutely unbalanced on high tiers just snipe you.
“Arty unbalanced on high tiers” Dude, lol. you sit through the reloads you have to on those arty and tell me they’re imbalanced.
Or Clan Wars…
The problem with province is that it’s basically a smaller El Halluf – it turns into a sniper war every time. It actually used to be possible for high-tier tanks to get battles on that map, but the campy nature of the map plus the lack of any sort of cover for the Eastern team meant that it was just imbalanced.
Widepark…it could work at higher tiers.
The new sounds are GARBAGE honestly firing a 183mm gun sounds like firing a 105…. its horrible WG needs to get it together and make more diverse sounds for each fun and nation… would make the normal sounds much more tolerable.. I run gnomefathers guns and engines ontop of that I also use some UI effects from modern warfare. My game sounds so much better i coud never go back to the original sounds!
eh i like the new sounds.
of coarse i’m using gnomefather on live server. but the sounds on test server….i like them.
i think i’ll go for a mix of them. gnomefather sounds for arty/tds/ and a few heavys.
9.1 sounds for low calibur guns on lights, meds…and those few heavys without heavy guns
I like the news sounds (other then large caliber guns). I definitely prefer the new engine sounds over Gnomefathers (his engine sounds tend to break for me :( )
Funny, I particularly like the 183′s sound. It’s very punchy sounding now. And if you get a one-shot from long range you’ll hear the shell ejection clink just as the target is vaporized, adding to the overall epicness.
How can you comment 183mm gun.. when the sounds are in test stage .. I can assure you that they would like to have different sound for each tank..
btw: have you ever used vacuum cleaner? yeah .. that’s gnomefathers engine sounds .. and his gun sounds are good but volume is too high so there is clear to hear the noise..
the new sounds are really nice idea…
Next time you take your 183mm armed tank for a ride record the sounds please and send them to WarGaming. You seem to know how it sounds in real life, so why not share?
New sounds sound a lo more like real gun sounds.
In RL the only part your ear picks up is so fast that its over before the roar. You only here a very fast crack and the boom part is more of a feeling than a sound.
Devs decided not to release the gun sounds??
Please no!! I really love them! The sounds are great! :(
Only those from Jackson and Hellcat.
The other sounds are to be released in 9.1.
Hopefully this means that they’re waiting to implement the sounds across all tanks, at the same time, and not that they’re scrapping them.
I love them enough that I was seriously considering re-buying the Jackson, despite having a massive garage.
No, no. NONE of the new gun sounds are coming…
“The new gun sounds AND the Hellcat/Jackson engine sound will not come in 9.1.”
Gun sounds are great, I used to them immediately. Perhaps they can be modulated depending on distance with some echo, but i’ve noticed this somehow works on Charkiv map. Just turret rotation sound is not well implemented, there is a delay so small/slow rotation is silent. This make sounds inconsistent.
Hellcat sounds are perfect, perhaps track sound is too loud (i have no experience how it sounds in reality), but i would like to see this for all tanks.
Collisions are just ok.
I would like to see 9.1CT sounds as mod at least.
better that sounds than no sounds!!!!
“- the new sounds were implemented into the 9.1 test for feedback collection, it’s not yet sure whether they will appear on live server the way they are”
Hold on, so what exactly is the content of 9.1 then?
One map ? Thats it ?
-no models, no sounds, no physics, very little optimization, and a few bug fixes.
yep
COOL!!!
Hopefully 9.2 will bring new icon for medkit.
And don’t forget: “training rooms” being renamed to “rooms for training”! The best part!
Mother of God, we have a winner! Give this man a cookie.
hmm… patch with nothing, maybe it will be the BEST patch ever from WG.
anyone who remembers 0.7.0 patch with no content? :D
Is WG aware of the black screen bug in the 9.1 test? Its a bug when u look at one place on a map, the screen turns black. The tank symbol thingies (not sure how its called, GUI i think) still work. Its depending on the map. It happened to me in Himmelsdorf (looking at the hill), Artic Region (the south heavy routes lake) and Lakeville (the norrh of the city).
yes, its a bug, will be fixed in test2
Yes, it was even stated on here, if I remember correctly, mate.
So I’m not the only one getting that. This is the first time I see someone else complain about this bug. Glad to know it’s not my video card that’s causing the problems.
It would be a nice idea to allow players to download HD models of individual tanks.
This would reduce the overall client size (not an issue with the present cheap HDDs) but more importantly with the download times (like me, I get 300 kbps on good days and don’t tell me to get a good internet coz I am posted in a damned rural area)
Over that, think about it, how many times do u actually want HD for ALL the tanks in the game given the fact that almost all of us would have stopped playing before we even own 50% of the tanks in the game
the problem here is, how the fuck are they able to make it so big ??? 50MB one model ? WTF ?
if you zoom enough, those textures are not so great anyway (sure, much better than the old ones but still). The models doesnt look that super ultracool anyway. Not that it should take up to 50MB space.
because honestly… that model is just set of vectors – polygons, covered with a texture. Why are the models not compressed, download compressed stuff and then unpack and patch… cant be that hard…
in WT models looks great right? and they are much less size, also in WoT when i click on one of my HD models tanks (T54) it take some time to load. if they will continue with this approach i will use their 80th tanks model cause they will not optimize or deal with the HD stuff, it will be *wink* rubber stamp client to make WG C.E.O think everything is ok but he should make sure those creepy WG devs don’t scam him, VK needs to fire some devs.
in WT they might look better, but thats because of Direct X 11.
teselation, hbao, better shaders, etc.
If you look at them up close, they are not so detailed, but overall they do look more “believable” or “real” – even though all that stuff gives them the “wet effect” like if they were wet from rain or what …
- apparently, 9.1 Komarin will be rechecked because it’s causing low performance
remove it for god sake. it already established its gameplay. pubbies have it in their blood
rly WG no gun sounds..that was the best thing about this patch and now you just go like..no nope who gives a **** what u wan’t..c’mon man.that is just wrong
“What? You guys aren’t happy with the patch? Not enough new content you say? But we gave you people a WHOLE texture fix for the 50B!!!!!!!!!!!” –Wargaming Devs, 2014
Let’s pick up the pace, gentlemen. Just saying.
i wonder how many MB of patch that provide 0 features and content will be….
does anyone know how to copy the sounds over to the live client?
and if they work with 9.0?
dont think so… echo zones added in some maps. it would sound really strange without them.
- theoretically, it’s possible to copy the 9.1
test sound folder to the 9.1 live client to
keep the 9.1 test gun sounds in the live
version (SS: not sure which files though)
COPY ALL FILES!!! :-D
(Most of them are the same as 9.0 anyway.)
I prefer the Hollywood sounds for WOT
And some of us don’t.
WOT is not a realistic tank game from what SerB saids so most wot players don’t agree with you.
I prefer them too. “Fuck reality” when it comes to sounds of explosions, things that cause explosions (guns) and explosions in general. I want to feel the epic running through my veins when I fire my big ass gun while driving my big ass JagdPzE-100.
“(SS: apparently this got the Russians very excited for some reason)”
Very excited? So this is why questions about the Valentine armour nerf keep appearing over and over again in the latest Q&A’s? Why are the Russians so obsessed with it LOL.
If anyone wants new gun sounds just go to Audio folder and copy it.
