SLI Bug Fixed

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/294676.html

Hello everyone,

in his post, Storm confirms that in the recent driver version by Nvidia (337.88 from 26.5.2014), the bug, where the performance of WoT dropped significantly when playing with SLI enabled, was fixed.

He implores you to download the newest drivers, you can do that here.

  1. FINALLY !!! im running 2x GTX 680M 4Gb with max settings i’ve got around 15 fps Oo.
at least now i know the issues

    • if you got 15fps on gtx680 then your issue is elsewhere :D

I’ve got gtx770M (desktop equivalent GTX660Ti) which is way slower card, and I’m getting 45-60fps depending on the map… All maxed out.

One such card should be able to perform 4x better.

  2. HAHA I wouldn’t hold my breath, I have the new drivers for a week now and they do nothing with my 780 sli………

  3. As I wrote under the new driver post, SLI no longer reduces performance. I have 2x GTX 560Ti, and I’m not quite sure there is much gain here. But while in single GPU mode usage is around 90-95% and the card can reach 70C°+, in SLI mode FPS doesn’t drop (maybe there is even a small increase) and cards go to 50-60% usage, both staying below 60C°.
Big gain in performance? Definitely not. But if I can gain a bit more life out of my cards this way…

    • 70°C is pretty good temperature IMHO.
Those chips do well even with 90-95°C

But yeah, you’re right, why pushing it further when it can be basically half-idle :D

Still pretty sad about the engine that it cannot squeeze the HW more…
I’ve had mobile radeon 7970 at home for a few days, that card is supposed to be close to desktop GTX570-580. I’ve put it into my laptop and it was running at 70%, fps didnt reach even 45

      • FPS jumps between 30 and 60 here. 1 core of the CPU does reach 100% though so there goes their multicore won’t bring improvements. And its a i5 2500k overclocked to 4.5 GHZ so thats not slow either… The only other bottleneck I could think of is the memory bandwidth of the GPUs. Previous testing of overclocking that didn’t show improvement, but I may have to test that again.

Hell my Tis are 1000 mhz factory overclocked and I run them at 850 for coolness ad lifetime increase. 1000 would increase wot fps by 2-3 at max. Does not worth it IMHO.
